Easy yes. Twilight's the bookworm and overthinker. It is much easier for Twilight to NOT use magic than it is for Rainbow to NOT fly for a week.

Not only could she occupy herself with books and other nerdy activities, she could just find a way, ANY way whether through her books or overthinking it, a means of getting by a week without magic.

And if somehow Twilight was so hopelessly incompetent that she couldn't turn pages or carry stuff around without magic she could just nag Spike to do all the heavy lifting for her.

I was kidding Spike. Owlicious will cover you during the night.

I think she could but since she is so used to using magic in her everyday life it would be very difficult for her.  It would be like injuring a limb where you can't use it.  You really don't appreciate how difficult life would be without it.  Magic is very natural to her.

It would be almost as earth shattering as asking Pinkie Pie not to bounce......OK maybe not quite that earth shattering.

Twilight Sparkle is best pony, meaning she can do any and everything. Simple as that. ^^

Seriously though, I really think she could. I mean, she basically is the Princess of Magic, it doesn't mean she has to use it though. I know what you're trying to say though, it's like trying to kill a habit or stopping something you've done you're entire life. But it's only a week, and I know my girl Twilight could so it with ease.

Yeah easy. All she has to do is make it a science project. :P

That said. I wonder if there is a side effect to not using magic, i mean its something they use without really thinking about except for more powerful specific spells.

If it's a matter of pride, I just don't see Twilight pushing more of her burden on Spike and her owl.

I can see a funny setup where Celestia and Twilight will have to use a special coruier to send messages since using Spike to send letters would count as Twilight using magic.

Here's how I see it. Unless she was physically unable to do magic, she couldn't last a week. I'm not trying to put her down, but mind, once in a routine, is stuck. If she opened the fridge, she would most likely levitate a carton of juice out just from habit.

  • 3 weeks later...

I don't thinks she could unless she had a REALLY good incentive to do so, since she seems to do just about everything with Magic (it is her element, after all.)

But, if she had a really good reason to-then I think she's disciplined enough to pull it off-I think it would certainly be a challenge, though.

I think at this point, what with her increasingly becoming a mentor figure and filling her Princess role, I think she has the patience and discipline to pull it off. She'd definitely organize well for such a challenge if given the chance to, prepare plenty of tangible reminders and notes to not use magic, get her friends to help her with stuff. If anyone of the Mane Six is the sort who can tackle a challnege like this, it's probably Princess Twi.
