    In some ways we are similar, but we also have differences. Furries are fans of the idea of anthropomorphic animals. Bronies are fans of the cartoon My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. The characters in MLP are anthropomorphic animals, but that isn't the only reason bronies like the show. The largest difference between the two is that one fandom likes a general concept, the other likes one TV show.

    I'm an American citizen so I think I can answer this question adequately. The main reason is because MLP was made in the U.S. for the most part. In America, most people speak English and MLP was originally voiced in English so naturally MLP gained a huge fanbase here. Also, America is a huge country, which means that it is more popular here than anywhere else also because this country is more populated than most.

    For those who are insecure about liking ponies, here is a video from YouTuber Manda31409. She focuses more on the collector side of things but the message about being true to yourself is still applicable. I hope this inspires you, like it did to me.

    In addition to MLP, I like Cardcaptors, Sailor Moon, The Powerpuff Girls, and She-ra and the Princesses of Power.

    I don't care what people think about me for liking it. I don't actively try to hide it but I don't shout it out to the world either.

    Yes, they do exist. They seem to be a lot less common nowadays. They were most active when bronies were new but now it appears that people don't care much about it anymore.

    I never threatened to quit. I watched every single episode of MLP: FIM and I'm still in the fandom. I did quit Pony Life though.

    I enjoyed watching the first episode enough that I watched the next one.

    Exactly. I wouldn't make an excuse for watching MLP, I would just be honest.

    Exactly. Sex is implied in MLP, not explicitly, but it's still exists in their world.

    I've been a brony since 2018 and I don't think I'll quit anytime soon, even though FIM ended two years ago. In fact, I am as invested in MLP and the fandom as I was back during the beginning of my 'broniness'.

    I don't think they would think positively of the idea that humans eat meat.

    Yes. I've seen the original 80's cartoon. It was quite decent actually.
