  1. Pinkie Pie - Has a very caring side to her which I first fully noticed in Lesson Zero. Wish she'd show it more. She also forces songs onto us. We like songs (most of the time).
  2. As I knew it was a Spike episode going in to it, I had no high hopes for it, especially since it was about the pets which I don't really care about. I then decided to see who wrote it just before watching and had mixed feelings on it. Could she actually make a Spike episode entertaining or is she unlucky that her second episode is a Spike one meaning she has no chance of a 2 for 2 in great episodes. I then decided to throw all that out of my head when I started watching and chose to just try and enjoy it. At this moment in time I'd gladly call this my favourite of all the Spike central episodes from any season. I still see it as a 'filler' episode as I do with all of Spike's episodes but it's not one I will skip over when re-watching the series as I do with his others. Between Fluttershy, Rainbow and Sweetie, there was an awesome amount of cuteness to go around which was great. Skimmed over some complaints about some unrealistic stuff (spike talking under the seats for example) but I easily just class that under the 'It's a cartoon' tag. At the end of the day, it wasn't a bad episode. I had expected much worse. Spike as always drags his episodes down a bit though (imo).
  3. As long as we are going down the route of who we liked the most and not who is more powerful/had a better chance of winning or whatnot: 1. Chrysalis - I just loved everything about her from her looks to her voice. Shape shifting is a cool ability and she has a whole Kingdom or some such place which she rules. Being in the episodes around the top of my favourite list helps. 2. Nightmare Moon - I suspect this is mainly due to the connection with Luna and all the possible back stories that could go with it. Also, being in the first episodes I ever watched means she'll hold a special place in my heart. Plus, evil Alicorn. If she'd actually used her obviously insane powers to do more than she actually did to stop the Mane 6 or the show explained why she didn't I'd have felt better about her (even though at the time it was still meant only for the little ones to enjoy). 3. Discord - Voiced amazingly well, how could he not be. I'm not too fond on the whole chaotic business. Not my cup of tea. Has amazing powers and is rather amusing. He looks awkward. 4. Sombra - Nice that he's just a Unicorn and not some random mythical being but all the hints at his power unfortunately does nothing when the show gives him so little screen time. Has potential to move up to 3 (or higher) if he ever does make a return.
  4. Yay, split down in to four groups. That actually makes things so much simpler. Earth Pony: Applejack Pegasus: Fluttershy Unicorn: Rarity Alicorn: Luna 50% of the Mane 6 represented there, yippie. Luna still trumps them all though.
  5. I was unsure of how I felt after the first watch. Not the biggest fan of Discord so didn't really mind how they handled him. After repeated watches I do find it a reasonable solid episode where it's biggest let down was only the time constraint. I loved Fluttershy throughout it though, she's awesome and proves she knows what she's doing. Discord was his amusing self. As I say, time was the only issue. It could have used more shots of Discord falling for Fluttershy's friendship before he decided he wanted to keep it no matter what. Also assuming that there is a force greater than Discord going to show up eventually if his powers are needed. I'm satisfied though. Boo for time constraints and boo for 13 episode seasons!
  6. I'll have to go with Octavia here just for the fact that the Cake twins annoyed the hell out of me. I don't really care about what she's like in fan stories but she does look quite nice.
  7. Two of the six going head to head and neither of them are my favourite. I like it. Has to be Twilight for me though, Pinkie is just too much silly for my liking.
  8. It's enjoyable for what it is and I do like what they're doing with Chrysalis, she's cool. The fact that the 6 could be so easily split up and turned against each other and the way the CMC are acting feel a bit out of place. Apart from those though, the comic is nicely done with plenty of references and is just a nice little story on the side.
  9. Celestia, hands down. Discord is just too out there. I very much dislike too much crazy, and he brings too much crazy. If he constantly showed up the amount of times Celestia did throughout the series, I would be totally sick of him.
  10. As cool as some of the guys are, it's hard not to pick Shining since he's the one who has actually had at least some development (which is kinda crazy since he came out of nowhere). He is a pretty cool guy though. Blueblood would be the only one on your list I don't care for.
  11. Will always have a soft spot for the likes of Winter Wrap up and even At the Gala but This Day Aria alone makes me pick season 2. I very much liked the Find a Pet song too but that was mainly just because of the two who sang it. Even with that, I have nothing against the S3 songs. I actually enjoyed the Bad Seed song + AJ's.
  12. See, you kind of said the reasons why right there. I love Pinkie, even though she is my least favourite of the mane 6 but I only love her in small doses. I've never been a great fan of crazy comedy or slapstick or whatever it goes by. I fully understand how others would like it though
  13. With the finale being confirmed as a 1 episode jobbie, there's still hope for Rarity. Anyway, Sleepless was definitely my favourite with Too Many Pinkies most likely being my worst.
  14. Must admit, I do kind of find these rather amusing. With that, someone get Luna Eclipsed done. I want to see how her mind works after all that time spent on the moon.
  15. Not really going to comment much on this episode. I generally judge Spike episodes harder than others as I don't find him all that entertaining as an episodes main focus. I like him as the support character. Having said that, I might like it better than some of his older episodes just because there is more interaction with the other characters in this one. I did like the simple little things from the mane 6 though, the likes of Pinkie and her mustache, Twilight needing her ink bottles to be perfectly placed, Rarity with the pie and AJ just being awesome as always. I also liked the Timber Wolves. They're a lot less boring than I first thought since they can apparently reform or combine and such stuff.
  16. I can choke up or have my eyes get all moist quite easily at times. At others I can go through anything without a reaction. It's very odd. The most notable scene in the show which gets me every time is when it zooms in on Sweetie's arts and crafts thing, the heart she made for Rarity. Even when I know it's coming, a lump will still form in my throat. There are plenty of other occasions which gives me the serious 'feels' but none that really stand out as much as that one.
  17. As little of the fan made videos I've seen, the only ones which have actually appealed to me would be Friendship is Witchcraft and Turnabout Storm(the Phoenix Wright one). All of the others I've seen seem to be badly done or just plain grim or silly.
  18. Rainbow Dash still has a long way to go to make her appealing to me (she's been heading in the right direction though recently) so I'm going to have to go with Trixie.
  19. I'd like to know more of why people find AJ so bland or however you want to describe her. In real detail, not just that she has no personality. From how I view the episode, it showed once again that her greatest love is her family. She just wants them all the have the best time they can possibly have. It's showing that she takes the responsibility of leading this event seriously and she's a little nervous that she can't pull it off and please everyone. This all leads in to one of her flaws which they exaggerate this episode(they do this with every character). She takes it all too far trying to get people having fun, missing the point. This is done so that she can realise what she's doing and fix it so we can have the happy, family even closer than before ending. In the end she succeeds in doing what she had been trying all a long but this time without all the rules. People seem to have gone into this episode critically staring at the screen for either real mention/appearance of her parents and the song. The first didn't really happen and then the song isn't what people wanted. The song fit AJ. It doesn't matter if it's what some people wanted her to sing about or not. Did the episode expand on her character bringing in new bits and pieces about her? Probably not. Did it go backwards? No. Just showed us more of the caring AJ and showed us that she gets carried away with work as is her character. Pretty much like all of the episodes so far besides SiP. It was a slice of life episode. Simple as that. The only problems I could really see were with the pacing or if someone just doesn't like the characters involved and/or the country style behind the whole thing.
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVcAAysEZXI After a few views, I'll agree that it drags on in a few places. Still enjoy it as a whole though and am liking the song. Have nothing against AJ being the bad guy in the episode, can't always learn lessons from others mistakes or have random non main characters show up to cause a problem just for the lesson.
  21. That seems to be the case if you look at the actual episode discussion page. On a similar note, that picture on the wall in their house with 2 ponies on it (shown just before the stars are seen the first time). That ever been seen before? Possible parent portrait? Probably not but *shrug*
  22. My favourites are Fluttershy, AJ and Rarity. Not so fussed on Pinkies, RD or Twilight's and while they are all great, they just lack something I like enough to boost them. I'm limiting myself to the mane 6 because I'm lazy. Cadence's was nice though I believe.
  23. As has been said, the Wonderbolts are like a military air force thingum. Someone who's reckless and doesn't have a great deal of care for other people/ponies well-being isn't really what's wanted. Too dangerous. That's for the understanding part anyway. As for the feeling sorry for her because it was her dream? No. She was a bad character. All the worst parts of Dash amplified a bit I guess. It's hard enough as it is liking Dash at certain times
  24. Only watched it once so far so opinions might change. I rather enjoyed it. Was a relatively happy going episode and not full of silly jokes. Dragged a little at first but that's because I don't really like Granny Smith. AJ has her 'tries too hard' flaw shown as she tries to make everything perfect for everyone to have a good time. Much better than her stubbornness being on show. It shows her great love for her family as she really just wants to make them happy and have something worthwhile to remember. Baby AJ was interesting I guess... Not a fan of baby/very young characters but was still kinda cute. Lots of new family members to forget exist. Always good. Still dislike Babs though, shame she returned Thought the episode would be far too thin with it trying to concentrate on as many as they could. Was fortunately mostly on AJ though. An AJ song. Once this started I thought meh. After a few 1,2,3,4's I started to enjoy it a fair amount. As for this 'Racist' barn thing, I didn't really hear it. People are trying too hard to by amusing imo, it's daft. Anyway, it fits her character and she does have a great voice. Was hoping for a sad song but I'm fine with this I did get a chuckle with Dash zapping AJ though. Was amusing. Got a feeling some people just like to moan about AJ though. She's just not a flashy pony which some people seem to need. I like her as she is. I'd say better than Too many Pinkies, Magic Duel and Wonderbolt Academy for sure. Possibly the Crystal Empire too. As I said though, just first impressions. Probably missed loads of important stuff and all feelings could well change on repeated watches. And that stars thing. Kinda cool/sad I guess.
  25. I have nothing against the masses liking a certain character, as long as it's a character that's important to the show and or the world it's set in. Having said that, I'd have to say Discord. Yay contradiction? I wasn't sucked in just because of his VA. Then again, without more of his history revealed, I'll class him as unimportant It's any and all of the background ponies the fans go nuts on which I would truly class as over-rated. Characters such as Lyra, Bon Bon, DJ-Pon3 etc. Yes, even Derpy or especially. I'd say that it's probably AJ who is under-rated the most and the whole background pony thing with her is more silly than amusing. Perhaps Rarity too. She's either loved or hated (rarely a middle-ground) and when hated, hated hard.
