Erm, Fluttershy was the one who actually got me liking the show. I'm pretty sure I loved her the most throughout seasons 1 and 2. I still absoloutly love her but Rarity and even AJ have steadily pushed their way to the top. Not counting Luna who lives in her special place, far too high for any other pony to reach.

I'd have - more scenes involving running of the Equestria with Celestia/Luna (with added sister bonding). - less silly humour (I like serious/emotional episodes). - more an arc based series rather than each episode being self contained. Extra - not let Twilight be the main focus of the two-parters constantly/have no individual 'main character' (she totally is).

As much as I like down-voting Discord whenever I get the chance, I had to go with Sunset Shimmer. Her end game was ridiculous and had no way whatsoever to actually come close to bearing fruit. Kind of want to say Nightmare Rarity too just because I find the nightmare creatures retarded. As for secondary, since I can't vote Silver Spoon by herself (I like Diamond Tiara ), I'll go with Gilda. I don't particularly like the looks of the griffons in the show and I very much dislike her voice and attitude.

So what happened to Celestia?
Whofch replied to Derpamena Diane Pie's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Pretty much this, though I think it was more along the lines of she liked to think that she was sent to the sun rather than definitely was. Until the show decides to tell us otherwise, I'm happy with this answer. I'm pretty sure that point won't be referenced again mind you. I guess whatever sealed her broke the moment NMM was defeated and a weakened Luna appeared. -
movies/tv Avatar: The Legend of Korra - Book 2: Spirits
Whofch replied to Hansel's topic in Media Discussion
I instantly liked Korra when it first came on. It looks beautiful for a start and it had less silly humour in it which is a plus for me. And as much as I liked the original, I never really liked the character of Aang, perhaps because he was the source of all the silly. -
Who is the smartest pony besides Twilight Sparkle?
Whofch replied to Redhoof 0's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Asides from Princesses Celestia/Luna or any other long lived being in the show and then just sticking to the mane 6, I'd do what most others do. Rarity for knowledge and AJ for life. Rarity is obviously well read and apparently brought herself up well and AJ just has the experience of doing things. I can always see Fluttershy as being pretty smart too but she's too afraid to act on what she knows. And Twilight is pretty dense outside of her books. Like really dense. And to be fair, spike shows a crud ton of sense when an episode isn't focused on him and he's like 8 or something. Outside of the mane6 I would want to say Cheerilee just because she's a teacher but she never really seems smart in any way in the show so I don't know. Zecora? Too obscure. Her knowledge seems limited to magicy witchcraft/alchemy stuff. We just don't know enough about the non mane characters. -
Looks like a fun thread Erm... - Discord is my least favourite of the major villains. I dislike random silly humour. - I don't really like Pinkie Pie. See above. - I kind of hate Babs Seed. Accent and character. - I don't really care about the likes of Derpy/Bon-Bon/Lyra/Time Turner and the majority of other background chars. Speaking role or gtfo. Derpy got 1 point. - I have no major dislikes with MMDW. I just didn't hate it. - The Smile song is one of my least favourite in the show - I'd be more than happy with another mane character showing up this late in the game? :/ - Read it and Weep bores the heck out of me? I dunno.

Rarity or Rainbow Dash? Who is best pony?
Whofch replied to Forlong's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Rarity climbed her way up from worst of mane 6 when I first started watching the show, to joint top (with awesome yellow adorableness). 'Cool' is overrated and that's basically what they went for, for Dash. Granted she's still a great character and still ahead of Pinkie and possible Twilight in my rankings, but her coolness appeal.....just doesn't for me When RD's bad side comes out, it's agonising to watch. When Rarity's comes out, it's bloody hilarious. I also find Rarity the most humorous out of all of them even over Pinkie as her sense of honour is all just silliness. I think it has a lot to do with Tabitha though. She is insanely talented. Anyway, RD is the easy choice, Rarity is the proper choice.- 146 replies

I just want something to wrap him up nicely. He's too powerful to be interesting for me as a goodie so make him sacrifice himself/leave for whatever reason or become evil and be defeated for a final time. Since they've already made him 'good', I'd rather they continued with this and make him sacrifice himself/his powers. Granted, I'm most likely in a major minority who doesn't particularly like his character (not VA) and just wants him out

Asides from a major villain returning, as long as it isn't Discord, I'd go with a group rather than an individual. I'd also like Celestia/Luna to have had nothing nothing to do with it in the past unless they are willing to fully flesh it out. The first signs of the problem showing up in the starter episodes and the conclusion in the finale. Perhaps with more involving them throughout the season. Most importantly, Twilight not being the only one able to stop the threat. Give the others a chance.
-
Hmm top 3 eh. 1) More Luna and Celestia, including back stories, the relationship between to two and showing the differences in how they 'rule'. 2) I want another character other than Twilight to have something important happening with them either throughout the season or in a multi-part finale. 3) Either Sweetie learning to use magic or Rarity being a bit more badass (as she has show hints of throughout the previous seasons). Perhaps Rarity turning to magic for an episode. I'd like to see her grow in it a bit even if it's not her specialty. Letting Twilight have all the magic episodes gets boring.

Will you hate the show if Twilight has too much power?

Sigh, guess it's time to go all ebook on that thing then to see what the crack is -.- I'm still keeping show canon separate from the rest of the 'official' stuff anyway. Whatever the case, I wouldn't want our Fluttershy to have wings removed (which will never happen, seriously) or for her to grow a lump on her head. She's too good for that sort of thing! Anyway, I'm assuming that it's mainly just due to simplified story telling to sell a small book to a young audience. All of these different media types are never going to match up properly or make perfect sense when put together. Hell, the show sometimes fails at that with just itself

Should Scootaloo fly or be disabled?
Whofch replied to pinkiefan1287's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I'm quite happy to go either way here. I don't see the great appeal in making her disabled just because someone in the past had possibly intended on her being so. Until it has happens in the show, nobody has any right to say she's supposed to be. I do however see decent episodes coming out of her being disabled though with some touching moments which I do fully approve of. I could say the same about her learning to fly too. It's not like she'll just magically get wings or something so it's no big deal if she flies (to me at least). I'm assuming that all of the 'teaching to fly' screen time will now go to Twilight though so Scoots might miss out on that cute scene with RD. Shame that.- 263 replies

Pretty tough decision on the voice but I'd have to go with Fluttershy and her soft singing voice and AJ and her awesome voice. These just slightly ahead of Rarity and Rainbow. The singing voices of Twilight and Pinkie are still good but I find them a little bland (for Twi) and quirky (for Pinkie). As for songs by a Mane Six member, Rarity wins hands down.

What If There Was a 7th Element of Harmony?
Whofch replied to Homura Akemi's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
*shrug* why not something akin to Understanding/Reasoning. It's pretty hard picking something which isn't somewhat covered by the other elements or the personalities of the characters who wield them. Perhaps a name change of the current elements would need to occur first. Sure they could work that somehow -
Yeah, it's not a bad little hot minute. Would very much like the 'learn to fly' episode. Could be very cute. I just chalk the Twi flying in the end scene of S3 as a way to show off the wings for toy sales so I can forget it if we are meant to The time travel question is the one I'm most interested in though. Very cruel joke if that doesn't appear in the show. Even crueler if it makes it in and it's one of the worst episodes ever, but how likely is that!

Not sure if it's just me but I have no real issue with Twilight being an Alicorn/Princess when it in comes to appearance or with how she will interact with others/be treated by others, including her friends. Nor any increase in magical power, if any. Heck, it's the princess title rather than the wings for me anyway. The real reason I dislike the idea is rather petty tbh. I know this but can't really do much about how I feel. It's mainly due to my favourite character, who happens to be Luna. I can sort of see this whole princess thing taking scenes that could fit her and be passed off to Twilight now. Due to this, I can be satisfied with them leaving her the way she is as long as she isn't given any responsibility in the ruling of equestria (which she has in no way earned the right to imo and i feel is in no way capable of). I do also understand the reasons why others are dead against it too and can't really say that they are wrong for the most part. I unfortunately can't say that there is anything that appeals to me about the whole thing. I am very willing to give it a chance though and hope to be pleasantly surprised.

There's only really 1 other cartoon I've ever actually watched anywhere near the amount of times I've watched FiM and that's Animals of Farthing wood. I've enjoyed many and many more if Anime counts but none to this extent tbh. I did love pokemon/digimon when they first showed up but the appeal didn't last.

What's wrong with One Bad Apple's moral?
Whofch replied to Pony Of The Month's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
There was nothing wrong with the moral. The only part I never liked about the episode was that Babs never showed any sort of emotion when she was hurting her family/friends just to avoid being bullied. She appeared to enjoy it. Just one scene showing that she didn't like what she was doing whilst she was doing it would have made me happier and possibly like her character. The lesson did also make it come off that the CMC were in the greater wrong, Yes, they shouldn't really have retaliated and definitely not to that extent (but it's a cartoon and it's more amusing like that) but at the end of the day, they were sticking up for themselves. I'm proud of them I've been pretty neutral on the whole bullying aspect of life, never really being bullied beyond the odd verbal insult and definitely not being a bully, mainly just sitting on the sidelines (I do however despise bullying) so I'll probably have a different view on things than people who have experienced it from each side.
