How do you feel about people smoking weed everyday?

I do not do drugs of any kind

if people want to smoke it then that's fine, I have way better uses for my money than blowing it on something that could cost me my job or put me in jail

I like weed fine, but I can't see myself smoking that frequently (even now that it's legal here).

Since my father quit drinking, I've been conscious of how the rest of my family uses alcohol, etc. as coping mechanisms for anxiety, depression, or really any negative emotion. I always try to exercise moderation because of that.

I think it is discusting personally. I'm sure it has bad health consequences and can mess you up bad. Other than wasting money on something like that, it's just a bad habit to have in general.

Dont get mad at me if you do smoke it. This is a discussion and I am allowed to speak my opinion.

If that's what they wanna do and it's not bothering anyone around, I say let them do it. I also think making it legal would be fine, but that's a discussion for a different thread. And hey, it's supposed somewhat to be good for you, so *shrug*.

While weed has plenty of benefits, I believe that too much of anything can be considered unhealthy (too much calcium results in kidney stones, too much exercise can lead to injury, etc.).

But if they want to smoke, they can do as they please. It's none of my business.

What people do with their own lives is their own business. It's unfortunate that many seem to believe that smoking weed will bring any lasting happiness, because it doesn't. It's an illusion that ultimately causes more harm than most people will probably realize. Lots of people do lots of things that run contrary to their own good, and it's not my business to tell them what to do, as long as I don't have to be exposed to it.

Whatever other people want to do to get through their day is their business, really. If they can function normally and make enough money to support their habit, I really don't care what they do.

I do not support the use of marijuana unless it is used in a genuine medical situation in which the marijuana is truly the most effective option for the individual suffering from medical problems.

A very common mindset today is that something is okay if it's not hurting anyone. I don't agree with that because I believe behaviors that people participate in that harm themselves should be taken seriously. Smoking weed for recreational purposes is harmful. It's by no means the worst drug out there, but that's not the point. The deeper problem at hand is the reliance on any kind of substance in order to produce a desired effect. No matter what particular substances and effects you substitute into that statement, the deeper problem remains. This covers anything from relying on several cups of coffee every morning to fully wake up, to not being able to make it through a few days without taking a hard drug. The human body has a tremendous range of adaptability, but this can be used in a detrimental way. If someone develops the habit of relying on any substance to produce any desired effect, whether that substance is anything from caffeine and sugar to hard drugs, the body will adapt to that. Any natural mechanism previously in place to operate with the relevant aspects of the mind or body will be sidelined in favor of the external substance, which is one part of the ensuing development of a reliance on that substance.

I know I'm guilty of relying on caffeine in my day-to-day life. Most people rely on a substance of some kind. But ideally, we should never do this. I know this is difficult as this is an ideal I strive toward myself and struggle with all the time. Excessive caffeine consumption (which I am guilty of), use of marijuana (outside of medical applications), alcohol, tobacco, hard drugs -- all of these things harm the body and the mind on many levels, ranging from the specific harmful aspects of the substance(s) in question to the more basic system that people trap themselves in of relying on an external substance to produce a desired result. This system of reliance degrades the individual's own faculty to produce a desired result without relying on an external substance. This has a wide range of harmful effects, such as wasting time, producing anxiety when the substance is not available, and being a drain on financial resources.

We don't need any kind of drug to be awake, or fall asleep, or feel happy, or feel calm. All of these things can only be found in their true, natural, and genuine forms if people refuse to participate in the drug culture that destroys countless lives and undermines civilization.

unhealthy, i don't think many people do anyway. my friend used to smoke heavily and i had to sit down and talk with him for like an hour about how he's too dependent on it keeping him mellow. if you smoke weed everyday you probably need some kind of help.

While I still do not believe marijuana to be "as bad" as other drugs, if you are doing it every day there is a clear problem and an addiction. It's likely interfering with your productivity, healthy schedule, and is also likely harming or annoying those around you directly or indirectly.

I am currently at school for summer classes, and not a day has passed where I have not smelled weed at some point in my rooom. It drifts into my room through pressure difference or simply via the ventilation. I find it annoying, distracting, and truthfully nasty. It's inconsiderate and rude, despite how "healthy" or "non-harmful" it may be.

Marijuana disgusts me. Especially after 2 semesters of dealing with the smell of the smoke every single day in the dorms. Occasionally it gave me a nasty headache.

I take a libertarian position on the legalization of marijuana... whether I like it or not, I think it's wrong to interfere with what someone voluntarily puts into their own body. Besides, medical marijuana has some benefits for cancer patients and the like. It helps them tolerate chemotherapy.

If you smoke weed all day, then you have an addiction, and that's a problem. I believe moderation in all things is key. Smoking weed every day is like drinking or smoking tobacco every day. And it's just gross, sorry.

Considering this is a serious question, I'm actually quite indifferent. Even now, people consume alcohol or tobacco every day and we generally toss that aside as them having a problem they have to get up and seek help with. Of course, any person that gets addicted to it can only seek help with it if weed is legal because otherwise they'll be forced to avoid seeking help by keeping everything under wraps. (Honestly, legalization, taxation and regulation of weed has been increasingly looking like a no-brainer.)

  • 2 weeks later...

Even before recreational marijuana usage was legalized here in my state, my opinion on the people who smoke it was and is still largely the same.

"I don't care if you smoke, just do it responsibly." I say the same thing about people who drink.

(Just for the record, I do smoke it now, because I'm of age and it's legal here. Don't ban me, mods, please!!!)

I honestly don't care if one smokes weed everyday, but I don't like having friends that do it. To me, that's a bad habit. I don't like taking risks so I would never want to get close to any drugs like this.

They can do what they want, but they can't blame anyone but themselves when issues arise.

At first I rejected the zero, but that was because I simply didn't understand it. Now I do.

As with alcohol, tobacco, and other such consumption pastimes it means nothing to me as long as you don't try to force me to do it out of some social obligation bullshit. I have had people try to make me sound like less of a human being for not taking part and I will not have any of that nonsense.

I will say that I greatly dislike the smell of it though and boy does it carry. My neighbors use it and I have to smell it on a regular basis, not to mention while I'm at work where people like to use our bathrooms for it.

With Weed being legalised recently in Canada, I have no problem with people smoking everyday.  So long as they aren't bothering other people about it, I see no problem in it.  Though the building I live in has banned smoking of any kind in "protest" of the recent legalization of it so I doubt anyone in this building is going to bother anyone with it.  Just wait until edibles are legalised, I'd bet a few people would partake in that!

My opinions on marijuana are that,

A: If your day/week at all revolves around getting high, you're not using it recreationally or socially, you're using it dependently, and should probably stop and work out your life issues you're trying to forget about by getting high all the time.

B: Whether it's legal or not, if you walk into somewhere, almost anywhere in public reeking of weed, you're an unclassy mofo and deserve all the judgemental looks you might get.
