Seems like we're getting more Maud Pie this season! She's really a interesting character and I've love to see what the creators have in store. Can this synopsis actually be the episode with teaser image with Maud, Pinkie and Rainbow in Manehattan?

I think the Lesson can be about that friends don't need to make gifts to others all the time, just to show their appreciation. I like that.

Well Maud hasn't disappointed me yet. One thing that irks me about the synopsis is the fact that there's no mention of Limestone or Marble. Where are their gifts? Do they give to each other or is this something just between Pinkie and Maud?

 

I think the message of the episode will be that giving to your friends doesn't have to mean sacrificing parts of yourself. The thought counts more than the price tag.

If you know "The Gift of the Magi" story, you should know what to expect from this episode. That's what it sounds like, but I could be wrong.

From the looks of the title and synopsis, this looks to be a Gift of the Magi story. Weird since that's usually a holiday thing but cool. Also, this is the episode that's gonna be screening at Whinny City from the looks of it.

Definitely "The Gift of the Magi" is the first thing that comes to mind when reading this synopsis, especially given the reference in the title, and of course two other users beat me to it. 

 

It's usually one of the most common adaptations; most kids' shows have done an episode with a similar base story. I don't expect a whole lot but Maud Pie should be fun as always.

Just because they're both books doesn't mean they're connected. The Gift of the Maud Pie book is just a small paperback. The Dragons on Dazzle Island book is a hardcover picture book being made by Mary Jane Begin, like Under the Sparkling Sea. That story was original, and considering the time it takes for her to draw and paint those pictures, I'm not even sure if season 6's episodes were even started before she started work on the dragon book.

I wonder if this is the one where Maud, Pinkie, and Dash are in Manhattan. Will there be multiple Maud Pie appearance this season too? She has been a well executed character in all her appearances so I'm hoping we get a few extra scenes of her thought Season Six.

 

Also I think a cool twist on the Gift of the Magi story would be third party character trying to subtly convince them not to get the specific 'unusable' gift when they see a possible let down coming. In the end the moral would be for the third characters benefit, not Pinkie or Maud.

I sincerely doubt it. I imagine that her one-note, rock-related dialogue and humor would grow stale pretty fast. 

 

Then again, pairing her with Pinkie is a good step. It's really cute how much Pinkie cares for her.

To be fair, the "too many cooks" part of that episode was only a tiny touch for a single scene, it wasn't what was focused on as the lesson of the episode. (since none of their ideas would have worked anyways since they were thinking about themselves and not twilight)

Not sure what to think about it, honestly. Maud worked well enough as a one-off character, but even then I was getting quite tired of it by the end of the episode. Oh well, I guess I'll see when it comes out.
