Sounds good enough to hug, and kiss, and do nasty dirty things to, right? But I can say that if a real-life pony approached me and effortlessly communicated that she wanted me, or any display that would prove her intelligence/cognizence, I would not go through with it. I mean think about having a horse come onto you... I couldn't handle that.

 

I grew up on a ranch and I've bred miniature horses (never got any ponies), and... As a human, I'm averted to horse... stuff. If I were a pony, meaning not transformed and born as a pony, then that's the only case in which I would date a pony.

 

Additionally, I wouldn't have an issue with others dating ponies. I don't think there would be anything immoral about it, but it just simply wouldn't be my cup of vagina.

They're attracted to the pony or would like to try dating a pony but would only do it if they're a pony. Well, as much as love is more about emotions and personality, there is a certain boundary that exists in physical attraction... And different species is the most obvious boundary (like I'm even having to state this?). I can not be physically attracted to a horse. I can think they're adorable, but sexually? Um... No. No way in hell!

 

I'll just be honest. I need a physical relationship. I wouldn't be able to get that with a horse, and I darn well shouldn't be able to or even want to. Just sayin'.

 

If I were a horse, I imagine my brain would be that of a horse's and thus things would change. So that makes sense. A human with a horse doesn't.

I would, either as a human dating a show-accurate pony or a pony dating a pony. To me, they're effectively humans with a different body shape - I know people see species as a heavily limiting factor on how far they're willing to go, but since I look for personality much, much more than physical appearance in a relationship, and I'm a bit of a hippie-type at heart, I certainly would date a show-accurate pony as a human provided said pony is comfortable with such a thing. Real-life horses or ponies, ew no thank you.

 

It should go without saying that I'd date a show-accurate pony if I were one myself as well.

So much of this logic is broken. So much.

 

First of all, just because the characters can talk and have human behaviors doesn't make them human or even "basically human". They are still horses/ponies. They are not the same species as us. Naturally I couldn't even bring myself to be attracted to one because I am not turned on by personality alone. Our bodies are not compatible. Many people every year die having sex with horses, and if those horses could talk I don't think that would suddenly change anything.

 

The logic I'm not getting is the mental gymnastics here that are being used to justify wanting to be romantic with an animal.  This is slowly turning into Green Eggs and Ham levels of ridiculous. "Would you on a ship, or would you for a tip? No I will have have relations with a horse here, I will not have it anywhere."

 

Like I get people liking the porn, sure, but no, I wouldn't find myself attracted to a horse ever regardless if it could talk.

 

But that's my opinion on the matter, take it for what you will. I am not about to turn this into a debate.

I would date a pony from the show, either as a human, or my pony OC. I would ask if I could be turned into my oc and learning the risks of the spell, I would be a little disappointed but I'd be glad to know the risks and not try the spell. Since they are a sapient species and as long as they have a nice personality and that we really care for one another, then I think it would be okay to date a pony as a human.

This logic confuses me. You are a human, the pony from MLP FIM is basically a human too, for both of you are sapient minded species. You are willing to admit you are willing to date a pony, just as long as you are a pony? Because being a human while dating a pony, who is a sapient species like yourself is wrong or something?

 

So you ask your favorite (get a unicorn to help you out if he or she is a earth pony) to transform you into a pony? Right? But what if... hypothetically the last time body transformation was cast on a human.... it just killed them... horribly. Other spells don't harm humans, but a human turning into a pony just kills them.

 

So with the grim reality of never becoming a pony. Would you (despite the fact you can't be a pony) date them and whatever? Remember, you are willing to date them as a pony, but once you can't change into a pony would you throw that out the window?

 

I would have to agree, I don't understand it either, on one hoof, the idea is obvious, its like saying you would date a human as a human. As a pony, you would be naturally inclined to date other ponies. The only way I may even gasp at the logic used by said answer is that everything about them otherwise is human, including their sense of morality and their natural attraction to humans,

 

but then it makes less sense, as they still think and feel as their human self.

 

 

It's one thing to say that you don't find them attractive and would not date them, but "I would date them as a pony?" Unless you meant it as a way to avoid attention or you were afraid that the ponies might not be receptive to human dating, I fail to see where they are going with it.

 

The problem is, you are thinking that as a human, with human thought, morals, standards of attractiveness, and inclinations.

 

In other words, it implies that you do find them attractive, yet you cant get past the "different species" barrier.

 

 

I think though that the ponies themselves would not see a problem with a pony and human dating, as they have many different species there and I'm sure ponies and griffins, dragons, mules, deer, etc have hooked up, and that it would be no different to them than say, a white person and an Asian person here. (Honestly, they need a Canon pony x non pony couple)

Also, as far as pirate pony's chicken human comment, yeah, doesn't sound that attractive, but I would never rule out any possibility. My policy towards other sapient species would be the same as towards another human. If I like you that way, than sure!

Me being pony or not doesn't really matter to me. If I were to date a pony, specifically Flutters. She's already got human like characteristics and really, that's good enough for me, I mean I love her as she is.  I'd also take consideration on what she'd want me to be. She'd probably prefer me being pony, if she were given the choice to change me from human to pony. Either way, I'd be ok with it.

I think it's easier said than done. IE, anyone could say that dating another sapient species would be okie dokey, but then what if a green skinned human/chicken with 12 fingers actually shows up at your door...would you really? Or even with a layer of fur, like you can assume the ponies have...would that just shut down the "oh yeah for sure" out of you, if that was the reality? Again, humans have never experienced such things other than in fiction, so I can understand both arguments and points of view.

 

Like you said though, the Equestria ponies are practically quadrupedal humans with da magicks and not horsies. 

 

I guess for me it would depend on the specific qualia of the sapient being. The way I look at it is: if I am attracted, then I am. If I am not attracted, then I am not. A very tautological approach, and the only honest one really...

I would date a pony if I to was a pony this is because I would be uncomfortable  doing so since they are a different species, but I'd like to imagine that we could get around the species problem somehow since the pony I would date it given the chance would be a certain unicorn I'd like to imagine she would know how to change an individuals species.
