Considering the infamous election America is suffering from this year, my brain hatched a pretty stupid idea for a thread. Who would you rather have as one to rule over you and all around you, Queen Chrysalis, or King Sombra? A changeling, or an Umbrum? A parasite, or a most likely possible nutcase?<--- (Sounds familiar, don't it?)

Feel free to explain as to why you believe your choice is the best case scenario out of these two worse case scenarios. I see lots of people doing the same for Trump and Clinton, so go right ahead just for the heck of it right here. :)

I'd probably go with Sombra; I have my doubts that living as a cocooned feeder for a horde of changelings is any better than living as a slave for a mad, though intelligent shadow pony king.

Funny, I was just thinking about how Hillary reminded me of Chrysalis and Trump reminded me of Sombra. I'd do what I'm going to do in real life and vote for Chrysalis.

Almighty Chrysalis would get my vote easily. See, she may have some wrong intentions but she may not be as bad as one might think. She does at least care for someone, her hive, and that is better than nothing. While on the other hoof, Sombra doesn't care about anyone and is a tyrant.

Wow, this really sounds like this current election.

Sombra; according to the comics, at least he's capable of Even Evil Has Standards -- not unlike, say, Darth Vader.

Chrysalis, however, is basically just a female Palpatine -- in both the show and the comics.

I dunno, one one hand Chrysalis doesnot sound so tyrannical.. but on the other, if you count the comics Sombra is not completely evil and does have some standards.

I think I could get away with more though if Chrysalis was in charge. I have no love in me so I would taste awful.

I count comics as canon, so going with how they are portrayed in those as well as the show...Sombra.

I also view the comics as being canon to the show, so for me the option would be Sombra after his reformation. He would show kindness towards his subjects as opposed to Chrysalis who uses fear and intimidation.

I'd probably go with Sombra, because his motives were never technically revealed in the show, so it's possible that the only reason he enslaved the Crystal Ponies was to establish the Crystal Empire as a military contender with Equestria.

As such, if he was the ruler of Earth, he may be inclined to rule, while in a dictatorial fashion, fairly benevolently, as Sombra would likely be smart enough to know that treating his subjects like slaves for no reason is not beneficial for the economy and would eventually result in a rebellion of sorts, potentially wasting valuable resources.

Sombra and Trump, in that respect, are quite juxtaposed. :-P

I think I would rather suffer with Chrysalis.  It doesn't seem like they are living horribly, they aren't slaves.  They are just war-mongering, and take places for resources, not necessarily land.

While Sombra is my favorite villain, I would vote Chrysalis. Chrysalis at least has a chance to become good. Sombra is the embodiment of evil–I mean, he literally enslaved his own subjects to work for him.

In real life, I am a strong supporter of Hillary. Personally, I think she'll be a great president. My reasoning? If Fluttershy were to vote, she'd definitely choose Hillary.  :yay:

I think Chrysalis would be better at it. She does concern herself with the well being of her subjects (Sombre just enslaves them) but in the case of the Ponies she consumes their love which may or may not be fatal. A quick death is better than a lifetime of slavery. Alternately, since there's no love in me  :P I could just fit in as one of her subjects
