The teapot is in fact glass. Got my previous one out for use last weekend  (normally, I just use a small french press, but decided to let the tea breathe a little more in the larger pot) and found it was cracked. Bereft! So I have bought one from the store to try (similar to the bodum one, but with a brass inner) but suspect I will need to make a trip this weekend to the coffee roastery for another bodum one.
