No, the chances of them all becoming Alicorns is only 0.00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%. :twi:

I feel like this question was more relevant during the end of Season 4 while the Mane 6 were still saving Equestria rather than pandering to Twilight and Starlight. Since the Mane6's overall traction has kind of disappeared with the S6 Finale, for them to all become alicorns isn't really relevant anymore. :(

In the meantime . . .

I wouldn't want Applejack to outlive Big Mac and Apple Bloom for thousands of years. Same goes with the rest (at least Twilight would have her sister in law and niece).

Immortality is overrated, especially for originally mortal beings.

I've always considered Princess Twi and The Mane Six to be comparative to King Arthur and his Knights Of The Round Table... where Ponyville and the Castle Of Friendship is the figurative Camelot. If their missions of Friendship continue to bring Equestria and the wider world into greater harmony, peace and prosperity, then the rest of The Mane Six becoming Alicorns in the future isn't out of the question. Hell, Twilight's study of Friendship ensured she became an Alicorn, so why isn't it possible for her friends who help her in having he same fate?

I also wouldn't be surprised either if a future episode is dedicated to Starlight being deemed worthy enough to earn a chair at that round-table, and follow the standards and processes that the The Mane Six did, but that's a different topic for a different discussion.

Does an ali corn taste as good as candy corn ... because I love those edible hat candy thing. Except the white parts. I feed those to my cat.

I think that would be a bit of a stretch. Currently, there are only 4 alicorns.

If the rest of the Mane 6 became alicorns, there would be 5 more alicorns, more than doubling the amount of them! Can you imagine NINE alicorns? That would be complete mayhem!

Plus, what would they be the princesses of? The princesses have very important things to take care of, like the Sun, the Moon, love, and friendship. Sure, you could go with their Elements of Harmony, but those relics are long gone now. They probably wouldn't be very important things to take care of, anyway. They already do their elements in their everyday lives. After all, Pinkie Pie always makes everypony smile!

Maybe when Hasbro feels like releasing alicorn Mane6 toys, but who knows if that'll ever happen

Oh no, making lots of fans very unhappy just for the sake of selling some toys. I don't think it would be a very good trade-off at all, in my opinion. I can imagine all the outcries of the fans for doing that. I would be pretty unhappy too.

Basically, from a practical standpoint, it'll never happen.

Eh. It would just be weird. Also undercuts the idea of the characters being very different from each other. I don't think there's even much incentive to do it for marketing.

Yeah, I don't think the toys will make much more sales from the new change. It fells kind of anticlimactic and would probably backfire on them. It could even net them less sales.

And making them all have horns and wings doesn't really promote the "friendship" part of it, as it doesn't bring out the weaknesses of the characters as much. (Take a look at Dragonshy.)

It might not be completely out of the question, but, like I said, I think it would be a little bit of a stretch. However, your reasoning makes me see that it's definitely possible though.

But with less contact with Princess Celestia in the newer episodes (no letters, friendship journal abandoned), and less dialogue shots per season (10 in S1, now just 4 in S7), it doesn't seem likely. Plus, I think 9 alicorns would be way too much, and lower the value of being an alicorn by a little, but enough to make it feel kinda cheap.

However, I like the idea of the second idea! But you're right, it's a completely different topic.

The thing is, I think that if one of the Mane 6 happened to die, Princess Twiilght could probably revive them with her magic and make them functionally younger again. It wouldn't be necessary. (Yes, I think magic can be used for healing/reviving.)

I want to say something here, but I'm afraid I'll spoil the Season 6 finale...

Ok, that's all for this post. Goodbye!

*Season 7.

Yeah, I just finished watching it and I see what you're saying. Still, it feels more like they're trying to fix everything that's happened in the past few seasons, therefore, I highly doubt they'd want to destroy it by making everyone an Alicorn. If anything, I'm worried now, more than ever, that Starlight will become an Alicorn. The finale ended kind of abruptly, making me more and more itchy about what Season 8 will hold.

Either way, if MLP continues this path of trying to resurrect old season morals, we may be seeing a 9th and maybe a 10th season.

Nope, and I'm very glad they didn't become alicorns.

A part of what makes the mane six so interesting is that they are, excluding twilight, just ordinary ponies. Yeah, they are very good at what they do, but they aren't big powerful entities of perfection. They are just a group of earth ponies, pegasi, and a unicorn (again, I have to exclude Twilight. Her alicornship kinda screwed with the dynamic of the group) who are doing what they can to help Equestria and spread friendship. If they all became alicorns, they would loose their relatability, and frankly, much of what makes their characters interesting. Plus, their newfound power would make them Mary Sue-ish, which would be terrible.

If the show had decided to make them all alicorns, I would've most likely given up on it. Now, I may have stuck around the fandom, but for watching the show itself, I'd be done. The mane six are one of the, if not the most important aspect of MLP. Take their character away, and the show loses almost all of its quality. But luckily, they stayed as their normal selves, which I am very grateful for.
