health Painkillers that work best for you

Bit of a random question, especially since I almost never use painkillers because I have had little reason to do so, but recently I pulled a rib muscle and...yeah, let's just say that hurts like hell. After 3 days of hardly sleeping as a result and dealing with the pain (not very well mind you), I took an Aleve liquid release capsule and that has worked incredibly. Went from barely no sleep in 3 days to being knocked out for 11 hours with no pain whatsoever. Still not feeling much pain, just some soreness currently and for that I am quite thankful. I think I have a substantial new-found appreciation for these things. XD

It makes me wonder, what painkillers do you all normally use when issues arise and have the most success with?

I take whatever painkillers I need at the time. I'm taking Tylenol right now due to swelling in my ear canal. Hopefully the drugs will help the swelling lessen.

Depends on the level of pain. Usually Ibuprofen gets the job done for minor headaches and what not. But for those special days when I fuck up on the job and hurt myself, I have a surplus of Norcos from when I had dental surgery. Dentists kept prescribing them to me even though I told them I didn't need them lol.

I tend to stay away from Pain-killers due to how toxic i read they could be. Im all about all natural pain relief, like tea or yoga. Although, if the pain is super bad i use a non conventional method.

Aspirin is the wonder drug. When combined with things such as caffeine, it works really well. Does anybody here know what BC or Goody's powders are? Goody's has aspirin, acetaminophen, and caffeine all together. BC is that minus the acetaminophen, with a higher amount of aspirin to compensate. It works wonders for me when I have sore muscles that are about to cramp and when I have migraines. Aspirin is actually a safe painkiller compared to those such as Advil and Aleve etc. It comes from the bark of a tree actually. Why is it good to take it with caffeine? Scientists aren't sure why, but the caffeine actually allows the painkillers to be more effective. Also taking vitamin E helps your body use the aspirin much more effectively and quickly, and it allows you to take higher doses.

Advil. It doesn't work very often for my headaches, but I have been taking painkillers for headaches for as long as I remember. It works quite well for my feet, which have been hurting me really bad the past several months.

My pain is usually tension head aches. So I take Ibuprofen for that.

Other than that is the odd occasion I get a sore back lifting something at work, I take aspirin for that.

For everyday use I like Advil (or Advil PM at night). Tramadol is for the mid-range stuff, but for the real bad stuff, I happen to love Hydrocodone or Demerol. I had to take Hydro 10s before and after surgery last year, and three a day was barely enough to do the job, so it was good to have that kind of potency available. Demerol is nice and served me best as a shot in the backside. I could have danced all night after that. None of these meds ever made me feel high (which I'm grateful for), but they did nuke the pain.

Ibuprofen is my go to pain killer when I need it. It was the only thing that kept me going when I had really bad bronchitis a couple months ago. :scoots: Although I was mostly just taking it for the fever I kept getting.

I take Panadol or Aspro Clear to help with my pain and they work quite well.

Tylenol, Advil, Aspirin, usually at a lower dose than recommended.

Usually Tylenol as it's not a blood thinner, as my luck usually dictates getting hit in the nose with something if I take a blood thinning one.
