Energy Drinks: Yay or Nay?

I like the taste of them a lot, but I hardly drink them so I can't say I have any preference with them. I always fear that it would get me a bit too riled up and fuel my anxiety. So I stick with stuff like Powerades. I love those. :3

I admit I like the taste of energy drinks; though didn't drink many to be able to compare.

When I buy/drink; it's only because I'm thirsty and I like the taste; never bought them for their 'features'.

Nope. Those energy drinks are nothing more than heavily caffeinated sugar water. If I need caffeine, I'll get it from my soda or frappe.

I used to drink them a lot as a young teenager, now I don't drink them at all. It's not refreshing, it's almost like a sugar syrup. I prefere drinks with less then 4% sugar, and even that is a lot in my opinion.

Oxygen

Nitrogen

I used to drink a couple Monsters every day, on top of a pot of coffee and a few espressos. That was when I was running on 4-5 hours of sleep a night. Once I was working full time, normal hours, glow-in-the-dark piss and kidney pain weren't worth it. Now I just drink plenty of coffee and a Monster or two a week. Rockstar if there's a good sale. Tried Amp, but they just never did it for me. 5Hour Energy are mild at best.

Because of my hypertension, I usually don't drink energy drinks that often. And if, than only the weak ones (and even them rarely). I once tried Monster, but I felt shaky after I drunk it and it was not a nice feeling.

The mango flavour Monster is my best friend. Yes please give me the stimulant juice I need to feel alive.

That said I don't buy them often, generally I may have them when out in the summer heat because coffee is too hot to bear in those temps. :eww: And I'm not super keen on other flavours.

I only drink energy drinks out of necessity. :please:

I suffer from the occasional, yet really powerful, morning migraine headache. I believe they occur mostly when there is a drastic atmospheric/temperature/barometric change. However, they might also be related to allergies. Either way, they are fierce. Coffee or tea doesn't seem to cut it. Energy drinks tend to have way more caffeine, which cuts through the pain. If I didn't need them for that reason, I would not drink them.

And I have tried a few other things. I have tried massage techniques for the back of the neck, I have tried naps, I have tried having breakfast and other healthy habits; etc. Some of it helps, but it never fully prevents the headaches. I do have caffeine pills just in case, but the pills feel more like a slow burn before they take affect. Having something liquid usually works a bit faster.

However, I REALLY don't like how sweet and sugary these drinks are, especially the ones with the higher caffeine counts. :rainbowdash-yolo: I wish they made some that wasn't so sweet, or no sweetener at all. I would be so happier if they did.

(edited)

i used to trade them over water when i was forced on a diet back in 2020. we had a bunch of them in the fridge. i had REALLY bad heart palpitations when ever drinking them so i haven't since. also they taste like old soda

also they aren't good for you. plenty of horror stories i heard about those things

also much like coffee, it lies about giving you energy when really it fuels anxiety(i think) and makes you tired again. but both always made me anxious and tired, its no good lawl

I've seen sugar-free energy drinks before, you should look into those. I've seen my coworkers drink sugar-free ones before.
