I guess I can't argue with anything you have said to me... Thanks a lot. It may take me reading it over a few times to fully understand, but I get it. You may not know, but you have helped me more than you think, even if I don't show it.

I apologize if my entries were confusing, I'm usually much clearer. Feel free to reinterpret anything I've said, I don't pretend to be a psychologist, I just have a feel for people with similar experiences to mine own. You don't need to thank me, I just don't want a fellow brony to feel alone and dejected when he should rejoice in discovering another awesome part of this show, fandom, and overall experience!

I have people waiting on me now? I'm getting more reasons to do a YouTube show and if I do THIS will be my first topic! I don't claim to be an expert, I just try to have my opinions at least be well thought out.

he he he, I saw that you were reading in here and already knew of how well you worded stuff, so I was hoping you would pop in before me, but since I like to help out when I can I went ahead and gave it a try.

A YouTube show? sounds kinda interesting, atleast for this topic. I think it would go pretty well.

Well I'm a huge fan of both Saberspark and Paleo but neither have really gone in-depth about this particular subject, so I'm thinking of throwing my two bits about it.

Well I, for one, think that its a good idea and that you should do it. You've got the knowledge and you're really good at speaking what you know and how you feel. besides, it couldn't hurt anything.

Steel, You got backup!

My friend, I heard some ponies figured out they love a certain pony. Just like always I'm here to help you put. And sorry, I almost forgot about the show, I'll send you a pm later about it.

So boys, how can I assist you? I may not be as good as Steel Accord but I can help just as much.

I was speaking metaphorically when I was talking about the red heads. I just meant someone like that. But truly, I was in your position not too long ago. From talking to other bronies and what I've felt since then, there's nothing wrong with fantasizing about your special somepony. Your finding it weird because your surface instinct is aversion. She's a pony, and a cartoon character. But the difference between attraction to Rainbow and Midna is not that different. Midna just qualifies as human enough that she's "okay" as others would put it. Nonetheless you are not attracted to animals so why would one trigger these feelings? Because she's not an animal, she's completely sapient! You can't call the ponies horses anymore than you can call us monkeys. Despite the hesitation, Rainbow Dash stirs something in your soul. You can't help it, nor should you want to, your heart is speaking to you through her! Go ahead, have your friendly races, share a cup of apple cider, gaze lovingly into her rose colored eyes . . .

Nothing wrong with that! ;)

I'll come out and say that I have similar thoughts towards anthro's (not when it's ponies though), since they're humanoid enough for me to find it okay

....but I don't have a crush on Krystal. I personally don't think it's healthy to have a crush on a fictional character, whether they be human, anthro, or animal, since you can never truly have a relationship with them, nothing but pain can come from that. Though, I think it might be good to look for a real woman who encompasses the traits you like of the pony you're in love with, but I'm not sure if that's more like bandage solution rather than a true solution, you're still gonna be in love with the pony, but now you have a real girlfriend who you can project your love of that pony onto, but in the end, she's not that pony, so I don't really know if that's a good idea. I think it's best to detach yourself romantically from said pony and just find someone you like, don't create an ideal woman based on a fictional character, because you'll have expectations you'll always want your lover to meet, and what if they can't?

I think it may be best to look for a woman who is similar to the fictional character you're in love with, but don't expect them to be an exact perfect clone of your pony love interest. Oh, don't type Krystal in google images unless you want to blasted by tons of porno.

Sir Raspberry, I am unsure if this will help you or not, but our dear friends whom we meet all the time watching the delightful cartoon, have been developed to a point where they are simply anthropomorphic animal characters with human traits, which add to the attractiveness as if they were a normal person. There's nothing wrong with platonic attraction at all. It helps you see the charcaters in thousands of ways other people cant. The only thing you should see about it is enjoy it~ :)

I have been thinking a lot while laying down yesterday. So, if Rainbow Dash were here, as a human, just as real and normal as any of us, would that make it alright? I am assuming it would, since she is an actual human being, and not a pony character. I guess all I am asking is, do you believe it is bad for me wanting Rainbow Dash, herself, her exact character, to be here as human? If that is not clear, then think of it as her being magically sent here and transformed into human... But, not actually like that. I am rambling... Please, ask questions so I can clear it up.

Nothing wrong at all. I do the same with Fluttershy. You could do the reverse and imagine yourself as a pony in Equestria (immensely easy with a custom ponysona like myself)

It's the same as those who want to sleep with elven characters or Liara or Tali of Mass Effect fame. Neither of those characters are human, but no one bats an eye at Shepard (and therefore themselves) being with either. The only problem I would see in intimate circumstances is ummmm positioning  . . . AAAAAAnyWAAAY! No I personally don't see anything wrong with that.

How in the world did you make that?

I know you didn't aim that "sleeping with" part at me, but I am going to add that I wouldn't take it as far as sleeping with them... Lord, no.

Oh Heavens no! I meant that more for me. (Still your words were "wanting Rainbow Dash herself" you can understand how I'd be confused.) Like yourself, I have an immense respect for women (sometimes to my detriment as well) Being a brony has just opened some new perspectives for me. I'm still choosing to remain abstinent until marriage but I don't consider sexual content itself necessarily bad as long as there's love in the act. When I first realized I had a crush on Fluttershy, I constructed an entire story that goes back and forth between Earth and Equestria (with either denizens changing to match the new environment) and involves superheroes, nazis, Anonymous, Discord, and alchemy! . . . It's a long story.

Thanks for the warning! And you're in my ball park but I think you're playing football. I don't think it's bad to crush on a fictional character at all as long as you don't hold them as the standard. To be fair, you said exactly that, but you also said it was inevitable that you would go back to fawning over "X character." I've gone on a date since being a brony and she distinctly had some Fluttershy mannerisms, but the character and my feelings for her were entirely forgotten after that. She was merely a thought, an idea, that's all she is. (A particularly GOOD IDEA but an idea nonetheless.) Again agree/slightly disagree, I think you're perfectly correct in that you shouldn't let your love patroness become the unattainable standard, but not in that merely having one makes misery the inevitable. I am assuming a photo of myself?

By saying "wanting Rainbow Dash herself", I meant her "spirit/soul" kind of. I don't really know. But I understand why you would be confused.

As for your story, it sounds interesting. If it is on the internet, you should send me a link, I would love to read it.

Yes a photo to give him something to work with.

I understand what you mean. I have that same desire deep down.

I haven't actually published it and it's only 1/3 written. I am writing my first fanfic with the intent to post right now though. It's a Conversion Bureau story that goes back and forth between Equestria and Earth and it involves Secret Agents, Communists, brony haters, and . . . . Okay it IS a different story! The main difference is that I set myself up with an OC as opposed to Fluttershy, to avoid being called a Gary Stu!

I have got to read it. Mainly because I want to see how the brony haters turn out. I have dealt with a few, and I do not like them very much.

Rainbow Dash would make an absolutely fantastic friend to me. Her personality (and voice) are something I have yet to discover in somebody.

Well I actually portray them in an interesting fashion. Tell me, are you familiar with The Conversion Bureau mythos? Edited by Steel Accord

I don't believe so. Is it any good?

Depends on what you're looking for and the amount of displaced resentment of your life you have. Somepony named Blaze wrote the original story and the premise sparked other stories based on it. (Yes it's fan fiction of fan fiction!) Ironically, the spin-offs are longer, more detailed, and often much better written than the original; which isn't even finished! The original and (unfortunately) many others contain heavy amounts of misanthropy. To the point where I've oft only half-jokingly reffered to it as "James Cameron's: My Little Pony." It takes place in the near future where many new technologies have been invented. Nanomachines, artificial intelligence, mega towers, it's a veritable Renaissance! Yet absolutely none of these technologies seem to solve the societal and environmental problems we have today. Earth, for no adequately explained reason other than "humans are bastards", has gone to Hell. The global economy is in the tank, the air is toxic in some places, energy crises are common in most countries, and there are issues of overpopulation. One day, Equestria appears off the East Coast of the U.S. Princess Celestia establishes good relations with the Super Powers of Earth and opens up a free global service to all who wish it. That service is ponification. It's exactly what it sounds like, a chance to change yourself and live in Equestria. There are different versions of the setting with differing rules, but that's the general idea. All in all, many versions portray the human species as dying. Those that don't ponify will die eventually and some versions even have it that all those who don't will be subject to termination when Celestia casts a spell that cleanses the planet of damage and pollutants but is fatal to humans! My biggest, personally, is that many authors are quick to cast humanity as nothing more than Orks with shoes (not the Azeroth Orcs under Thrall either!) and ponies as angels. Despite the fact that I can sit here typing in peaceful communication and that one of the most wonderful things about this show is that Equestria isn't -

. . . . THAT! So with all that said, why would I write a story in such a depressing and often hypocritical setting? To reconstruct the Hell out of it that's why! B) My story involves not the destruction of an imperfect world with a seemingly Utopian one. Rather the gradual merging of both for the benefit of all sapience. The conflict is generated from the growing pains that would come of such a transition.

So you have my take on this tale. In which, the Conversion Bureau serves as a social-political metaphor for the Brony movement itself! Meaning YOU exist somewhere in my universe, all bronies do. The big name bronies are newfoul celebrities with power and status reflecting what they do in the fandom and the fan groups are actual organizations. As such, the Human Liberation Front (the typical Conversion Bureau bad guys), or Brony haters. They are crass, base, violent, and driven by hate. Translate the power of our sub-culture onto the world stage and such people become terrorists. *sigh* I WISH I didn't have to clarify this, but that isn't to say brony hater = terrosism. The idea is that if half of the guys I hear were serious in the amount of raw hatred they have of all things MLP, then when confronted with Equestria as growing influence on the world stage they would resist. Hell other settings portray them as the good guys! Not without reason either, if you just swapped the ponies for another co-Earth species that claimed to "know what's best" I'd be suspicious to!

Wow... You... spent a lot of time on that. I think I get the basic idea you are trying to portray. I read it over several times, and FINALLY fully understood it. That actually sounds more interesting than humans become extinct and ponies take over. I feel there would be more human/pony communication/cooperation.

I'm so sorry it wasn't completely clear, I must be really off my game! (People usually say my posts are understandable.) I feel the same, precisely because we would realize our similarities. Pegasi, Unicorns, cities named suspiciously like our own? The uncanny similarity is actually a plot point a bit in to the story.

This. This right here.

I don't mean to interfere, but he spelled Rainbow Dash wrong.

The uncanny similarity is actually a plot point a bit in to the story.

That can only turn out to be awkward, in a funny way.
