I have been bullied since I can remember, on the weekends, or when I come home from school, I log onto my computer and open YouTube, and search My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. I usually just click on the episode I watched after the one I watched last and it takes away that sadness for that short half an hour.

I know how it is sometimes, I never got bullied much because I was in a new school about twice a year because me parents kept moving. The biggest problem for me was making friends. But yes you have plenty of friends on here and if you ever need to talk just message me. Bullying is a problem but as long as you keep your friends close, it won't be much of a bother. :) I have found out that friends are the strongest thing that one can have.

Yes. And that's why friendship is magic, the show has things that may help you funnily enough. Mid don't let anypony get you down, you can be who you want to be no matter what they say. Its a leap of faith, just close you're eyes and jump.

MLP:FiM makes me happy, pure and simple! It's an entertaining show, but there is definitely another dimension to it for me. I have been battling a little depression too over the last six months, and I find the show a really lovely, therapeutic escape - I can shrug away the weight of the world and find myself laughing easily again at simpler things.

It's strange I guess but I also wonder if it creates a type of space - where you can be yourself, connect with all your feelings, express them free from from any worries, constraints or expectations. Hehe or maybe I just need professional help!! Haha Either way, it helps me to find a warmth and happiness that I've not felt for a long time and if I'm really stressed at work all I can think about is treating myself to some quality pony time at the end of the day, and this little ray of sunshine gets me through it all!

Yep, life is 20% cooler with ponies! :)

Well, aside from the obligatory picking up on references and memes, I've actually changed very little since I became a brony, almost a year back. The only major change has been being increasingly social online(on some of the other forums I frequent, I used to average less than a post a day; here it's more like 4 or 5)

Outwardly its changed my vocabulary somewhat and my laptop desktop is ponified, not that anyone notices anymore, its just something that's there. Inwardly, it hasn't really altered my depression, but watching the show provides an interlude of happy fun and can calm me down and take my mind off things.

Well if you ever need to talk, or if anyone needs someone to talk to just pm me, I went through it for a long while, and I am finally through it. So I know what depression can do to someone. :) I am always here to help people in need, but since ponies it has been strengthened.

Hm... I wouldn't say ponies 'changed my life' literally. But they do somehow make me happy and slay my depression every time I watch the show. I believe we all can relate to that~

But in this context, I would say that what affected me the most wasn't the show itself, but the community behind it - this very forums, for instance. I've made so many friends, learned so many things and had a really great time in general. I love being a brony because I love being with the brony community! :3

ponies... changing my life... , well, indeed, though the community had its part in that for sure, too.

I became a better person I think, I got bullied over years and it helped me come over it, and it changed my attitude about looking back. Earlier I looked back and hated those guys, when I look back now... They were young, like me at this time, they were unexperienced... that doesn´t make it better for me, but I can forgive them now. I can turn my hate into forgiveness, I can even gather happiness from it.

I can´t exactly say how this relates to the show itself, but it does... *derp*

I can say it changed my life, I became a whole nicer person I became more open, I look on the bright side more often... I care more, if for my friends, bronies, or people I never met before, and try to help them if they want it and can use it. I just try to take my ideals of love, respect and acceptance as serious and as far as possible.

It hasn't changed the way I act too much, but it's made me feel different inside. When my girlfriend broke up with me and I moved into my own place a few years ago, I was just sort of drifting. I didn't feel at peace unless I was alone at home, and that was fleeting. And I didn't talk to people on the net as much as I used to, because there weren't enough common interests. The sweetness and innocence of this show has lifted my spirits and helped me accept who I am. I'm an adult, but there's a kid inside me too, and both sides of me love My Little Pony. There are very few shows I can say that about.

So if Ms. Faust, Mr. Thiessen or anyone else involved with the show ever reads this (it looks like the kind of topic that would catch their eye), thank you so much. And a collective brohoof to this awesome community as well.

The show has really changed my life, I no longer hang out with the 'cool' people at my school and just stick with the nerds and bronies I should have been hanging with all my life. It's also helped me to accept who I am and who others are, and thanks to twilight I've learnt some pretty important lessons.

(If this is already a topic or if I've put it in the wrong spot yet again, I apologize.)

So friends. What do you think your life would be like if you hadn't discovered MLP? Where would you be right now?

If I hadn't discovered MLP I'd either be very depressed or dead, in all honesty. Someone who is rather dear to me is a brony, I don't really want to imagine how life would be otherwise. One of my best friends is a brony, he's saved my life before.

What about all of you?

It would be rather boring, to say the least. I suppose I'd drop my free time into something like Halo (which is a great game by the way), but being in the fandom actually helped me to go out and try honing skills such as writing, drawing, music composition, etc. I definitely wouldn't be the same person if I hadn't watched MLP that first time.

I wouldn't have my special somepony if I hadn't become a brony, and I would have missed out on something that helped me determine the job I'd like to study for someday.

I'd also be very bored. :I

Dead.....that's it..definitely dead.

Death would've come to me back in probably September or October. I mean, the way my depression was heading back before I got into the show...I already put a gun to my head and pulled the trigger...it obviously failed but I would've done it again, and I'm sure that I wouldn't have been lucky again.

One of the reasons I'm very glad I'm a brony.

I know how you feel as far as depression and suicide goes. I highly doubt I'd be alive as well.

Stay strong.

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

I think I probably would have been more bitter. Less reasonable.

I know it's strange (and what I will say sounds like crap), but more recently it made me look back to cartoons from the late 90s, early 2000s, mostly Cartoon Network (and early Adult Swim). I sorta had a type of nostalgic renaissance thinking about my early days, which felt like a lifetime ago.

It's hard to put it into words, but MLP made me think, alot.

I think we'd all be somewhat bitter if we hadn't.

There'd be no "love and tolerate" otherwise. Just douche canoes.

Canoes worth of douches.

As much as I'd hate to say it, MLP hasn't influenced my life much. Unlike others who were depressed or even suicidal, I just see it as a quick past time or a way to kill a few hours.

Don't get me wrong, I love the show, and I still squeal whenever I see Rainbow Dash, but in the long run, my life wouldn't be all that different if MLP:FiM didn't exist.

And stuff.

It would be terrible. I used to cry myself to sleep every night, because I was unhappy for some reason. (I can't even remember.)

One night, I was really depressed because of some bullying things, when I decided to go on the computer and look at Smosh.com. They had a Mark Zuckerberg thing, and one had Twilight and it said "Friendship is Magic!" on it so I decided to search Friendship is Magic, and found ponies.

One od the first songs I heard was "Smile" and it made me so happy.

I can't even imagine my life without them.

The first song I heard was "Giggle at the Ghosties" because it was in the first episode, and it made me think about how irrational some of my fears are.

"You gotta stand up tall. Learn to face your fears. You'll see that they can't hurt you, just laugh to make them disappear."

And sadness needs no reason. It comes and goes.

Smile, smile, smile.

If I had never discovered MLP, I would be like how a lot of you said that you would be. I would be in a constant state of depression. Wondering what my life was going to amount to, if anything. I wouldn't really have anything to cheer me up when people or life in general has me down. I would say it's the fanbase, more than anything, that gives me the joy and happiness to plough through the hardships in life. Thank you to all of you who make this fanbase great and keep me going in my darkest hours.

To put it simply, I would have never started writing again. Thus, I would never have been thinking about story ideas. Thus, I would live a very dull life all about academics.

Thank you, ponies, for ruining my grades and filling my head with ideas.

Also, I wouldn't have met all of these awesome people like you! Yes, you. Yeah, I know you know that I'm talking about you. I never would have imagined that so many people are just like me, share my interests, etc. The world is a big place full of a lot of people.

I am going through depression and anger right now while it dosen't go quite to the level of suicide it would probably be worse without MLP. Granted it hasn't solved all my problems by a long shot, that I need to do myself and I fully intend to but it has helped and has also brought out a bit more of my creative side as well which I have neglected for far too long.

After watching it my obsession shifted from anime to mlp. Maybe my obsession with anime would have declined anyway. I was already watching more Western animation. So instead of mlp I'd finally have gotten around to watching Avatar, Cybersix, Code Lyoko, Freakazoid, etc. Other than that, nothing about my life has changed.
