What do you hate about your school?

~Sugar Sprinkles~

Recommended Posts

Everyone has a liking and a hatred to their school. Like, I love to see my friends, and see my favorite teachers, and sometimes the assemblies, events. And our school is not AS strict as most schools. Some schools don't allow many things. My one friend said at her old school, no one was allowed to wear make up, wear fingernail polish, fake nails, and many more thats not make up related. I dont really wear much make up or wear fingernail polish, but that's strict. Anyways, like my school allows gum, I pods, phones when teachers are not teaching, and many more. But, we ALL have ONE thing or two that we hate a lot. Like, I hate the fact that out P.D.A is outrageous this year. We cannot even hug family or friends....really? And we can only hold hands. It will be an automatic detention. And many other strict crap. I also hate my Principal, he is NO help at all and annoying. Some of the teachers are just too....OMG strict. I do hate a lot of people at my school, and also the homework as well

What is ONE thing, maybe two, three or more that you hate about your school? Many people have at least ONE thing. Dont try and say that your school is perfect, this is not what this thread is about.

I actually love my school a lot. It is a really amazing place.

Only bad thing I would say is the universal thing. The kids in our school are stereotypical "gangsta" kids.

For my school. Many people get detentions and unfair punishments for the most menial things. One time, my friend dropped an EMPTY small Powerade bottle from a railing one story up. It hit the ground and bounced away. A teacher saw him and gave him 4 days suspension.

Do universities count?

I just find it hard to connect with people around here. May be the politics, may be the fact that most students going there are actually from the area, may be I just am bad at being friendly.

I also hate the fact that the people at the orientation scared us into believing that college was going to be so much different than high school. It really isn't if you can study for at least 30 minutes at a time, not to mention the claim didn't account for the specific standards that any particular high school experience entailed.

And people don't seem to care all that much about academics, or at least don't act like it's their reason for being in college. For that matter, too much socialization. Especially the fraternities that put on a faux sense of their own superiority.

Eh..my schools pretty good. Principal's really nice and friendly. Most of the kids are friendly. Our day is shorter then the other highschools where I live. Although, there are a few things I dislike

1. No bronies in my school ( at least in my in grade)

2. We can be overwhelmed at times, tackling both Highschool and College material at the same time.

I hate my P.E. class It so exhausting. I hate how there are two campuses. There is the 9th grade campus and the main campus. I hate walking from the 9th grade campus to main campus. It's too freaking far to walk probably 1/10 of a mile

Well to start off there much bigger students at my school, but they are huge and I get really nervous around crowds. I also get pushed in another way when I try to get to class.

Went I went to high school, my school sucked. The students came from intolerant and racist families, and athletics/sports was all everyone cared about. The campus was closed, so you were stuck with there bland hospital-like food, or bringing your own (unless you drove and left campus, which wasn't really enforced anyways). The only positive comment I have on it was that the teachers were pretty good, so long as you hand-picked who you wanted. Thank God for college...

Seriusly, it sucks, i hate it, it's dumb, it's not worth the troblue, nothing teached there will be useful in real life, there's bulling, they make you stay +11 years of your life inside of a school learning senceless bullshit, etc...

Well i consider my school pretty bad. Terrible people that are complete D-Bags about everything. Not to mention that we don't have enough chairs in the cafeteria so people will FIGHT over a simple chair during lunch. Thats not even the worse...to spark a conversation with over half the girls at school you have to ask "What are your rankings?" Thats not what i look for in a woman >.>

We also have teachers that are just as strict as it gets.

Well considering the school was built in the 30's and is falling apart, the overall appeal of the school went down the moment I stepped in. Then the crammed hallways that have to fit 700 students and were built for 300 students get me ticked off so bad... The people in the school separate people into two groups, athletes and non - athletes. being in a small town school, football is basically everything to the people in the town. So if your on the football team, your basically allowed more pardons then anyone else. So I can say I really don't like my school.

I'm employed at a university and I hate it more than any student ever could.

What I hate the most is how the admissions procedure at this particular campus is strictly a formality, that is, it's impossible to fail. Even if you fail, the admissions guys will make sure that you somehow get a score just high enough that you'll get in. This means that people who can barely read, can't do basic math, and don't know what time zone they live in (I met one new student who didn't know what country this is) can gain admittance. They then go on to flunk out after three or four terms, freeing up resources but now becoming financially obligated to the school. This is the biggest reason I'm looking for a new job. I can't do my job seriously and often brush off things that I really know needs to be done, because I feel as if I'm aiding the university in screwing over unwitting people who are just trying to make their lives better through an education. Too bad they didn't know they were enrolling in the school of hard knocks.

So I get reprimanded for not taking my duties seriously, earn the staff's ire, meanwhile getting over with the students and becoming who many of them feel to be their only ally there. The students look at me more like I'm one of them than an employee and they come to me with academic questions and life concerns they don't feel comfortable taking to anybody else. Due to how frayed our student's nerves often become, the school recently started handing out pamphlets for a service we contracted with a number for the students to call if they're feeling overwhelmed by life. Meanwhile I'm the only one at that campus that they'll open up to, because nobody else cares. I try to be compassionate; the school gives them a hotline and pats itself on the back for its "innovative approach."

Sorry for all the bad vibes up in here but sometimes I just have to let all of that out. It wears on me daily.

Most parts of my school are good, but one thing ruins a ton of my experiences. The uptight, hypocritical staff. They really are way to overprotective about language and stuff yet they curse all the time. Not only are they hypocritical about language, but alot of other things.

Usually the problem I have is the kids in the school. I mean, all I usually hear from most of the boys is Call of Duty this and Call of Duty that. Some kids are wicked annoying and need to see a doctor. And 1mlpfim, if you didn't have school, you would be brain-dead compared to most of the world.

I'm assuming you mean high school, in which case, the thing I hated about my high school was how it was free education. I heard some kids in third world countries don't go to school! It's so unfair. I'm missed out on so many opportunities because I had to attend free education for 4 years!

I would consider my school to be pretty good. I like all of my new teachers for this year. Our building is pretty new, and the principal is very nice. The academics are great, and the classes are really hands on (which I like). Though, my town is split up between upper middle class and lower middle class kids, so the richer kids just really hang out with each other ( but they don't make fun of other kids for being "poor"... so that's a positive). Our football team went 13-1 last year (and this is Texas, so that's VERY important). Drugs have been on the decline, and there really isnt any fights. Bullying isnt really an issue either...Since I am taking mostly honors and AP classes, my homework is just a killer...but what AP class isn't? Overall, its a pretty good high school.

Haha, I love my school.

EXCEPT FOR GYM!!!!

What gym is to me:

25 mins to get attendance. (Sad, right?)

35 minute lecture on why gym is important.

Random 10 minute walk around gym. XD (Gym is HUGE)

Girls come back froom upstairs. (There's another room for the girls where they play dodgeball or whatever.)

45 minutes of sitting.

5 minute walk around the gym with girls.

With my primary school I only hated the fact that the playground was spread out only so far that the different grades got "allocated" to certain areas. Being at the school front with the special kids, we got a pretty small playground.

My high school, I hated the fire alarm because my ear's really sensitive to high-pitched sounds, and during one fire drill I almost blacked out from the pain.

My college?

EVERYTHING.

It was a retarded assbackwards college that was "good enough" for the kids of farmers and fishermen

The library has the WORST categorising of books in the world (there's like ONE SHELF of World History and THREE BOOKCASES about discussing Art) and the fiction choices were terrible (if I see another goddamn Lee Child novel I swear to god...)

The teachers were patronising as hell, as if they KNEW only morons attended their school (and as a moron myself, they probably did)

The "smoking-designated" area is the stupidest idea in architectural history (It's an old bus stop OUTSIDE of the goddamn building, why do you even NEED an area only for smoking when you're OUTSIDE IN THE FRESH AIR)

The entire place was just utterly stupid. And then I left college after only 30 days because I had enough, I got sick of everything, they wouldn't even pay me tuition despite ACKNOWLEDGING my disabilities, and I ended it all with a fight on the bus with some other students who were picking on a disabled friend of mine.

Good. Riddance.

My high school was great. Only problem I ever had with them was during my senior year, they went on this health food spree and took most of the good drinks out of the student store :(

I went to community college for a bit, but was overwhelmed by the amount of people who were mad that the government wouldn't pay 100% of their way to get liberal arts degrees and contribute nothing to society, but that's just me :/

I'm heading for BYU now (I'd rather not, but it's necessary for my parents to not found out that I'm actually atheist, because I'd rather not get kicked out of the house when all I have is a part time job.) Apparently, I can't have my sexy goatee at BYU. And in certain dorms, Steam is blocked. I think mine isn't one of them, though :/

My old High School was extremely ghetto, the security is awful there. I used to get beaten up once a week because I was a furry at the time and wore a cute snow white fox tail. The security didn't care, in fact, the security guys were friends of these bullies. They got away with slamming my face against a desk, stealing my phone and destroying it, throwing water over the top of my bathroom stall, pulling on my hair in the hallway, the list goes on, and who got in trouble for it? Me.

It always seems like the higher authorities in schools side more toward the bullies~ >:

My school is actually alright most of the time, and the people there are mostly pretty reasonable. The construction of the school however, is not great. Built during the early 80's recession, my school is the definition of a cut price school. over 800 people go to my school, yet the corridors are about 2 meters wide, the classrooms are tiny and the building is broken and awful to look at.

Ah, school. I'm a senior this year. I hate my school. Even though the building is quite new, most the students there are all mean and disrespectful, close minded, have the wannabe gangsta/wannabe, or wannabe cowboy/cowgirl attitude. The school is barely over capacity due to East St. Louis school districts pushing kids into our school, in fact, in my sociology class, there are more students than desks. But then again, kids are committing truancy and usually we can barely seat everybody.

When it comes to the kids, 90% of them expect everybody to be excited for the big football game (I could give less of a crap), expect me to play CoD, and think there is no internet beyond Facebook and Twitter. When it comes out to the group I enjoy hanging with, it's the few Bronies there (BTW, I know Everfree here in real life, I go to school with him), or the Otakus. (Anime fans).

Finally, yesterday, I had an assembly and some dumbass came up to me and screamed in my face, and I had an $1800 camera in my hands. (filming for Multimedia)

Wow, my longest post yet. :D

I don't particularly hate anything about my university. Just the amount of distance that exists between the performing arts building and everywhere else. I have to be late to orchestra just because of that. =/

I don't like the walking altogether. My community college was so nice for me because I never had to walk outside, and the whole campus could be traversed in under ten minutes. The same can not be said for my university's campus. A lot of it is outside, which sucks right now since it is hot. Also there's construction going on, which pretty much changes the path I have to take all of the time.

Still I much prefer the atmosphere of the university campus, so I can deal with it.

That sucks... a whole bunch. =(

You had to go to a Christian university just so your parents wouldn't find out that you're an atheist? I don't really understand that, as my parents aren't finding out I'm an atheist because of the university I go to (which is a secular one).

I made sure I chose a completely secular university. Where I live there are plenty of private Christian universities (even ones that don't appear so on the surface). Even my secular university is full to the brim of different Christian (student) groups constantly proselytizing on campus. But that's their right. Just as long as they don't control the university and course material, I'm fine. And we even have an atheist/agnostic group, but I'm not able to attend the meetings this semester. =(
