I'd like to have Twilight as a roommate as opposed to the others.  Now, as a guy, that comes with provisions.  A mare and a stallion living together would raise eyebrows.  If I were a pony, I'd more likely date Rarity or Rainbow Dash.  And I'd rather move in with my girlfriend than someone else.

Fluttershy is my favorite, but I don't think I could really handle living with her. I'm going to college in the fall, so I put a bit of thought into this.

 

Twilight: She was originally my first choice, but I realized she'd probably hate me for making any noise while she was trying to study. Also, we're both "nerdy" and I think we'd be too similar.

Applejack: She actually would be a pretty good roommate. My second choice, probably. If I ever had a problem, I could talk to her and she would probably have the answers.

Rarity: I feel like she would be too stuck up and want everything to be neat and tidy. Also, she'd probably keep trying to make me wear pretty clothes, regardless of how unpractical it is to look pretty sometimes.

Rainbow: I think she'd be throwing her stuff all over and borrowing my stuff without asking and it would drive me crazy.

Pinkie Pie: Too many parties. Not gonna happen. I am not that kind of person. I like to be introverted and quiet and keep to myself.

Fluttershy: I don't think we would ever talk. I'm shy, she's shy. It would be awkward.

Trixie: No, just no.

Zecora: This is who I would want to room with. I think she would be interesting and fun to be around. I also think she would be really good at giving me life advice. She would offer a ton of cool culture into my life and I'm sure she'd share interesting recipes and things with me.

Derpy: She'd probably accidentally break everything I own or lose my favorite sweater. Not gonna happen.

I would go with my favourite Fluttershy but as I can imagine it being rather awkward for her so I wouldn't want to make her uncomfortable. Consequently I would live with my second favourite pony Applejack as I could help her out in the farm, eat apples, chill with Big Mac and sing country songs. (however we would visit Fluttershy so she doesn't feel left out)

As I understand it, the idea is that we live with them in an appartment, not at their house, correct? I really like Fluttershy, but I have to say Twilight would probably make a better roommate. Not alicorns, which means she'd still be having her panic attacks, but I could hug her and help her calm down for those, and she would keep the appartment organized for me, which I can't do with my ADD. If she messed it up for a project, not an issue. I can work in a mess.

Twilight is quite exigent with order for my taste, being kinda messy myself. Still it would be fascinating to learn more about magical knowledge.

 

Applejack, I don't think we will get along all that well. Quaint, but too simple minded for my taste. Still, probably the most human pony among the entire group.

 

Rarity is actually very dramatic... overly so. Even so it'd be quite a great idea to design something, both together.

 

Fluttershy, we're both quite sensitive with nature. It'd be a lot of fun to keep all the animals hidden from the administration. Well, probably not. Rather stressing actually.

 

Pinkie will most likely cheer me up when feeling low. Over and over again... non stop. She wont stop singing the whole day. Despite that, we'll get along just fine, being "hyperactive"

 

Rainbow dash is pretty much focused on her own goals, very independent pony. Her personality is way more stronger than mine, quite stubborn and somehow tactless, as direct result.

 

Trixie, it would be nice to help her out with that self esteem issue, the spell of self-delusion. As challenging as unbearable to deal with her.

However, Twilight would still be by far the best. Organized, good student, plus she would bring her 20 bookshelf with her in the habitation, plus I would bring my two bookshelves filled up with science manuals and novels.

Ya know, as much as I'd love to live with Pinkie because she's best pony, I CANNOT STAND the smells and noises of a baby, so Pumpkin and Pound would run me off before I could get half my stuff moved in. Rarity has an eye for detail, and as such I can see her being a neat freak. So she's out of the running

I frankly don't know enough about Zecora and Trixie to confidently move in with them, nor do I really want to live in a small wagon or in the middle of the Everfree away from everypony, so that probably wouldn't happen.

 

Derpy's cool, but a large faction of the fandom thinks she's married, and that would be awkward. The rest of the fandom pretty much agrees she's already got a roommate, Carrot Top, so I don't see that panning out, either.

 

So, in the end, I'd pick...Rainbow Dash I think she'd be a really laid back roomy, like my current one who only does her dishes once a month OK, maybe not that infrequently, but still less than many of the others.

 

Also, something I forgot to mention, I'm a huge car guy so wherever I go there would inevitably be a half dozen smelly, non-glamorous but undeniably quick heaps going with me. No pony else would understand that, but I think that Dash might understand me when it comes to the need for speed. Maybe I could even talk her into tagging along to a meet or two
