Can you sing?

Do you have a singing voice? If so, what style?

I like to think I can sing. My best singing voice is very grunge-y (like the lead singer of Collective Soul's voice, I'll have to upload it sometime though it's just my opinon), but I'm trying to do a pop-like singing voice too.

Well, I don't think I have a particular voice. I sing classic and slow music more. I especially like Vanessa William's songs. she has a good voice, and my voice is pretty similar to her, but not as high as her though.

Actually, that's kind of a funny question for me.

I've been told that i have a pretty good voice and I used to do choir (at my high school), but nopony in that class even cares about it, so I stopped that in favor of band >.<

Still, almost any time I'm alone (and not at night when I'd wake up my whole family :P) I sing to myself random songs that are stuck in my head....songs from MLP like Smile Smile Smile, Daylight's End from that one game I never played League of Legends, the opening theme from Casino Royale and Skyfall, among other random tunes.

I have a pretty deep bass voice, but I don't sound too bad to myself singing higher...

I can sing about anything if I work at learning how to properly manipulate the vocals. I can't sing REALLY high, I can sing low to medium high-ish though. I have a voice that is better for punk or acoustics (odd fits for one voice, I think), but can still sing rock, grunge, country (If I'm forced), blues, among other genres, but there's just a quick idea of my singing voice. I'd hopefully, at some point, like to release some brony music on youtube.

I've been told that I can, and I don't think I'm too bad at holding a single note. When it comes to singing an actual tune, I dunno, though. Being a smoker (up until recently, a fairly heavy smoker) doesn't really help either. But I can carry a tune well enough to get the point across :P

My preferred style of vocals is more along the lines of death metal, I've been trying to learn how to do extreme gutturals lately, and they're really hard (think Abominable Putridity, Devourment, etc). I can do a regular death metal growl pretty well, but the "gurgling" style still somewhat escapes me xD

Somewhat...

I used to sing in the choir at school, but since Choir days were the same as the days I was supposed to be a Library Aide, I decided to not bother with it. I also sang in the church choir too. Nowadays, I can sing ok, not as well as when I was a kid.

I've been told I have perfect pitch. I also have a pretty high range. I think I can sing, but sometimes I just purposely sing bad to myself to entertain myself.

My music teacher can't stop telling me that I should start singing...

I love playing instruments but I don't have any selfconfidence so I just can't sing. It's fun though... When I'm alone.

He... =D My music teacher says the same, but I am not fond of singing =D Well, and I kinda think, that I really can sing. And if I would, it would be random English language songs :) (I said English because in mine country we don't speak English ;p)

Not trying to brag, but, yes, I can sing quite well.  I've loved singing my entire life, and always try to sing as best as I can to the glory of God, since I figure if He blessed me with vocal talent, He obviously wants me to use it to the best of my ability.  I have a deep bass voice, and I mostly sing hymns, classical music, or choir pieces.  In high school, I got into the Michigan State Honors Choir three times, and the Michigan All-State Honors Choir twice, all of which were a blast.  I've been in Hillsdale's College Choir for six semesters, and last semester, for our Christmas concert, we performed Handel's "Messiah," which is performed every four years by our choir, and oh my it was an amazing and wonderful experience!!!  Sadly, I will be unable to perform in our college choir next semester, since my final semester will be simply too busy, but hopefully after college I'll find a nice church choir to join.  Boy do I love singing!!!!!  :)

I try not to sing anymore, I used to get told to "STFU" by girls a lot in my school a few years ago. Guy's always bother me with the sound of my every-day voice saying it's "Pretty". I'll sing to myself, in my house if music moves me. I don't know what to really think of it... I guess it's normal.

I have a pretty deep voice for my age, and generally people on the Ps3 think I'm a 30 year old trying to mess with them whenever I tell them I'm 14. At school when I sing, people tell me I'm a decent singer. I've never taken a singing class, so I don't know crap about things like breath techniques, scales, holding notes, etcetera. But still, if I knew anything about how to sing, I could have potential. When I do sing in front of people, I use songs like just a friend by Biz Markie (and the thousands of parodies people make up as they go along) or "until I got high" by afroman (just for laughs, I don't really listen to rap. Ever.) If I sing alone at home, It's usually something like gypsy bard pinkies brew by sherclop pones, or Gorillaz songs (god I love them) I think I'd be better at voice acting though (Big Mac fanfic anypony?).

whenever I relax by listening to music that I like for a certain period of time, I find myself singing along from one point onward and, judging by the way it sounds to me, I'd say that my voice sounds pretty neat when singing; however, I do admit that I never recorded myself to see how it sounds on the outside XD

back when i used to sing, i was an alto.  i started in chorus in middle school, and continued  until high school when i just did private lessons for three years.  i sang in church and with a group, and my personal best style match up was actually that rendition of "have yourself a merry little christmas" sung by Jaci Velasquez.  im not a fan of jazz but it works well with my voice.

i dont sing anymore unless its karaoke night at the bar and everyone else is drunk, and im slightly fuzzy lmao.   Like any other talent, if you dont use it and practice, youll lose it.

Not one bit. I think I'm not to bad at hitting the right notes but my range is probably pretty terrible. Doesn't mean I don't do it when (I think) no one is around. I also sing parts of a song on occasion when I'm trying to figure out how to play it on my sax by ear. I find that singing parts of the song (or humming or "ta" ing it) really helps me out.

As for the type of songs, they're usually sort of smooth sounding vocals I guess. Or maybe they're just infectious/ played so often that I have to join in.

Yes and no.

Yes, I can sing but the only songs I can successfully sing are Disney songs. LITERALLY!

I recorded myself singing my favorite Madonna song (Like a prayer) and I sound like a mule poo'.

I recorded myself singing Friends from the other side (Princess and the Frog) and I sound like a pro.

I just can't sing non Disney songs.

When it comes to hymns, I sing pretty good, depending on the range of the song.

One time I was singing "The First Noel" and was coming to the "Noel noel..." part, anyway, instead of going down on the last noel, I went up and hit the middle F# on full voice, which is my current record without straining.

On rock songs that are playing loud, if I strain my voice, I could hit a treble A.

I have a pretty singing voice I suppose.

Yes, and I sing all the time. I sing for my college and I like to think I sing pretty well, even though I haven't taken any voice lessons ever or anything. I sing a lot in theatre music, and I'm joining the chorus this semester, too. I sing baritone, so I'm stuck at that weird range where I can sorta sing bass and sorta sing tenor. I'm better at bass than tenor, but I tend to like the tenor parts better, and since my falsetto isn't bad, I usually do a little of both.

I'm not really suited for metal stuff, where they're basically screeching the lyrics. I like to sing stuff where you can enunciate the words, and they're all very audible. Religious and pop and rock songs tend to be the best ones to sing.  I like the ones with the flowing parts, and all the different harmonies and stuff.

I don't have an angel's voice, but I can definitely sing in tune. I owe it to having perfect pitch (being able to tell what a musical note is the moment you hear it). Other people say they're impressed by my range (aw shucks), it starts from double low C, then I can sing up to middle C normally, have to make a transition between normal singing and falsetto whenever I want to go past that. My range then stops at F over high C. That's three and a half octaves - I'm perfectly fine with that, though I know people who can do four and a half.

All I need now is for it to be solid. People comment that my singing voice is pretty thin. They like my falsetto though n.n

Even if you could sing like Sweetie Belle, you'd always still be better than Justin Beiber in my book. <3 At-least it doesn't stop you! :D
