Good to see that there are dubstep fans here :). What dubstep artists do you like?. I like obsidia,kraddy,feardubstep-s channel has a lot of great tracks. And yes i do like some skrillex song ,but i think he shouldnt deserve the popularity he has.

I like dubstep (though not deadmau5) and I think people hate it too much. All music is creative in its own way, and the fact that dubstep is so expressive is impressive alone. To degrade another who has done only as equal as the next person is hypocrisy, the same goes with music genres. To the people who say they don't like dubstep because there's no effort put into it, tell me this: if a person put their best effort into making a good first impression at getting a job and failed miserably while you were their boss, would you hire them?

I like some DS songs, some dont. But generally, no. I dont like DS. I dont hate it. I just dont like it.

Probably because its almost everywhere. You never have to dig deep in order to find these sorts of music. But you have to hand it to them. Making DS is pretty hard and confusing. So props to DS artists.

Dubstep's OK at best for me.

Personally I'm more about kicking ass and taking names, hearing a story unfold  or listening to something earth shatteringly epic. That's why Rock and Video Game/Trailer music will always reign supreme to me.

I think you're going to like my Album. :3

I'm not a huge fan of dubstep, but I like it a bit. I'll listen to it if I'm bored or my friends want to listen to it or whatever ^-^ Not my favorite genre, but not my least favorite genre either.

It has its good and bad points. I personally hate it when a dubstep song is all 'wub wub wub' and not much else. I don't mind it on the whole though :)

I don't like dubstep. I just hate the fact that the music is "Digitaly created", No instruments...

Second fact, the whole OOOOuuuOPPO (Major head bombing) is just to much for me...

So you're saying that a MIDI keyboard isn't an instrument ? It's just as much an instrument as e.g. a grand piano is.

Another thing is, even though it's digitally recorded, you still need a lot of musical knowledge, skill and talent. Not only for dubstep, but for any genre, really.

@OP: Yeah, I like dubstep. It's not my favorite genre, but I like it because it's such an experimental genre, and you can really do a lot with it. E.g. I hear a lot of hardstyle producers use some dubstep elements in their tracks. :)

I love electronic music, especially trance but I don't like dubstep.

My problem with dubstep is that it doesn't have a lot of rhythm to it. It doesn't always follow the beat and that kinda makes it sound weird and annoying. Especially the hardcore dubstep, "brostep" is quite annoying.

Not to say that all dubstep is like this but most is. I dislike about 98% of all dubstep but I do occasionally find some I like.

Basically, I don't like syncopation.

THIS. i can't stress anymore than people to listen to this guy's first paragraph. people say electronic music isn't produced by "real instruments", but the definition of a musical instrument is, taken from Wikipedia, "a device created or adapted for the purpose of making musical sounds. In principle, any object that produces sound can serve as a musical instrument—it is through purpose that the object becomes a musical instrument.", and anything that not just dubstep but EDM in general uses are devices that fall under that principle.

now, as for my opinion on dubstep, i'm not the biggest fan of it, to tell the truth. it's mostly a bit slow and boring for me, or too noisy, depending on what artist i am listening to. the stuff i do listen to, however, i love. Klippa's earlier stuff, Graz's dubstep works, and Skrillex's stuff is what i usually tend to go for when i listen to dubstep (even though people categorize Skrillex's works as "not dubstep").

You see, for me personaly, when something is heavily computerized, it somehow  loses the touch it should have... For example, you can stash a computer effects module on a guitar, but then it doesn't even matter what wood it's made from, or how well it's made... (That's why i use seperate effects pedals, Analog, not digital)

I have a friend who creates electronic stuff, and i do not argue that you still need knowlage on how to make music in that genre.

Don't get me wrong, i respect every musician, i just don't understand this genre.

Skrillex does count as dubstep ,but most of dubstep listeners and makers hate him because he dosent make enough song and they are all so similar.

What+this+Oh+its+nothing+JUST+MAH+BASS+CAs a wise Stallion once said, Yup.

You know, I've actually grown rather fond of Skrillex, but I do think he needs to be more diverse, I don't want to get bored of him but that may be the result if his next album doesn't have some different angle.

eh, that's more down to personal preference, i guess. for me, i've surely had more goosebumps coming from digitally produced music than with analog instruments and such. if i were to take an example, this song was the first electronic song i took a liking towards, and is what turned me into who i am today:

to me, there will be no other song who's melody will be as touching as this one is.

but then again, like i said, it comes down to preference. i don't listen to purely electronic music anymore, like when i first got into music, but i still have a soft spot for the digital creations.

No. I despise Dubstep.

I have yet to encounter any dance music that I like. I find it mindlessly repetitive, utterly soulless and uncreative. It's just the latest fad, and later on, something even more simple and bland will be the in thing.

I like Dubstep a bit, though I prefer Metal and Rock.

I do hate when people say it's not music because music is technically just organized sound...

I mean if you can call a song that is just four and a half minutes of silence a song you can call Dubstep music.

No I don't. The closest thing I like to EDM that I like is Nine Inch Nails who are actually industrial music. In fact NIN's first album was actually Synthpop.

I've given Electronica, Dance/Trance genre a good shot and I've enjoyed them. That said, there's something about dubstep that seems freaking uninspired. Maybe I've just been looking in the wrong places? to each their own, I guess.

for me, its hit or miss. really depends on the song, the beat, etc. lately, ive been into the Going Quantum podcasts on youtube, which are friggen amazing.  this is my favorite so far, and ive listened to like 15 or 20 of them as of tonight.

The case with me is that I don't mind an electronic sound in music, I actually like techno here and there, it's just, from all of the dubstep I've heard, it's just so poorly done. There is no real melody, only random power tool sounds that seem like they were thrown together in 5 minutes. The same usually goes on and on for the entire song, and the vocals are very... random, and weird.

Not only that, there is just too much bass. So much that you can hardly hear what little melody there is. So much that it hurts your ears and makes your heart feel really weird. And the bass is very random as well.

I don't downright hate dubstep, I just think that dubstep artists should work a little harder making "music" that doesn't sound like it was automatically generated in FL Studio.

Like any genre of music there's the songs I dislike and the ones I like. I think dubstep is fine- I only find it annoying if it's played loud and usually get a headache pretty fast. Although I enjoy it when it's played very quietly; like all of my music.
