It doesn't apply to everyone the same way. I meant that for the person individually. And for your question, you would be surprised about how much a person can change from his childhood.

But then again, I'm not completely talking about the modern day bronies. Say, back then, in the 90's, what if there was a 26 year-old football player just trying to get a girl friend, and ends up watching My Little Pony and likes it? So, with the people who are now the same age you are now, only back then, is... okay, what I'm trying to imply is that I'm not talking about growing up. I'm talking about already grown up men.

I would have loved it/been obsessed/addicted to it. I'm pretty sure my favourite would have been Twilight as a small child, though if it were around during middle school, I would have liked either Fluttershy (I was waaaaayyyyy to shy then) or Applejack.

Well, since I am a girl, AND a child, I say yes. I was thinking, when I voted, that you were talking about me as a LITTLE kid. In which case, I wouldn't be on these forums now, because you kind of become biased to everything you watched when you were five. :P

I'd probably not, because when I was younger I wasn't really into that many girly things. Only Barbie dolls. :x I had a main interest in anime and Nickelodeon TV shows. The previous generations of MLP never really appealed to me, because I thought it was waaaay too girly and it mainly aimed at toddler girls. And if this generation were to exist during my younger years, I'd probably say the same thing.

Well since I would only be a kid then, my parents would make me watch all these kids shows because they wouldn't taint my innocence. Of course they knew it would go away, but as a child, keeping them as pure and innocent as possible is the best thing a parent can do. That by no means says that I wouldn't like them. I've loved so many kids shows because of my parents, like Arthur, Foster's Home, Probably MLP:FiM too, although not in the same level as I do now haha.

Hate to say it but no I likely would not have watched it.  Growing older has widened my perception of things, and allowed me to understand that I can like stuff that doesn't fall into the usual categories of what certain people are supposed to like.  Had this come out when I was a child I wouldn't have given it a chance simply cause it was My Little Pony and boys don't watch that.

That being said I did watch the occasional episode of Sailor Moon growing up when nothing else was on so I might have come across an episode or two.

No, I don't think I would have, I did not go on the internet much so I wouldn't of known bronies existed, I was much more stubborn, and I hated to even think of Barbie, I preferred ACTION MEN,and, SPIDER MAN, and, SONIC, and such... I am so glad it came out now! Otherwise I would have never even thought of it :(

Probably. When I was younger, I would watch some of the girlier shows with my sister and play with her toys quite often. If she watched it, I would probably enjoy it. However, past the age of 10, I probably would have avoided it like the plague due to the music. I hated that kind of music back then.

Ironically, now the music is one of my favorite parts of the show.

That depends on how young "child" is. But anyhow, probably no. I had a lot of other, more boyish tv shows I watched. Such as Pokémon :P

I'm very positive my child self would find it too "Girly" to watch.  As I've aged I've gotten a lot more open minded.  Also many of the jokes in MLP that make me love the show wouldn't have been funny to my kid self.  I could see myself liking the show as a teenager but that is still pushing it.

Well maybe. I did watch Power Puff Girls and I loved it(still do). I briefly became obsessed with Sailor Moon. Then again I was also more judgmental as a child and could not recognize good qualities in something once my mind was made up, so there is also the distinct possibility I might denounce it. In fact I was very dubious about the current show coming into it, partially because of the name, but mostly because of my experience watching the first MLP movie and the various snippets I saw from other previous generations.

there should probably be a maybe option

Yup. When I was a kid I grew up watching things like Bratz with my sister as well as things like power puff girls (Ohhhh nostalgia), so yeah I most likely would have watched it.

I generally didn't like cartoons when I was a kid, this would have been no exception.  Heck, after watching the first two episodes when I did I said it wasn't for me and didn't watch anymore until a friend told me to give it another chance.  I then proceeded to marathon both seasons in like 2-3 days and liked it ever since.

I definitely would've watched it as a kid. Even back then I liked watching shows where there was a character I could relate to. I was always very shy and sensitive, so I can picture Fluttershy as being my favorite even back then.

To be honest, probably not. As a matter of fact, I probably wouldn't even have given it a chance. It's always been considered a cartoon for girls until FiM changed the landscape. Then factor in that the internet wasn't as big in the 90s to early 00s as it is today. At least I didn't really use the internet that much back then. So I highly doubt I would have known much about it.

I'd like to think that MAYBE I would have given it a chance. I mean I did like the Powerpuff Girls as a kid. But I'd still consider it unlikely.

Maybe. I wasn´t as open back there but, i did really liked The PowerPuff Girls. But that had way more action. But I did watch some other Feminine shows like Sakura Card Captors. So now that I think about it, I probably would, but not as much since I can now appreciate a lot more things about the show than I would have never been able to see back then.

As a kid, I probably qould have given it a shot, since I watched almost every cartoon on television at the time.  This includes not only standard boy shows like Gi Joe, Thundercats, Voltron, and Transformers, but also Jem and She-Ra.  Hell, I even watched Beverly Hills Teens (can't believe I even remember that one....).

So yeah, what's one more?

Well, actually, I probably would have done exactly what most juveniles today say: "Pshaw. That My Little Pony stuff if for babies." But I'm completely glad it DIDN'T come out when I was younger, or I wouldn't love it as much as I truly enjoy it today!!!!

And the animation reminds me of "Martha Speaks", as well as most of the facial expressions remind me of "The Powerpuff Girls". I still love both of those shows!!! wub.png

I definitely would have watched it, and loved it. I grew up watching Pokemon, Hamtaro, and the Powerpuff Girls, after all. Cartoons about small colorful characters were all I ever watched.

Good question, I would easily enjoy watching the show but the thing is that I may not know about it since the first thought would probably be me thinking of how much a girls show it's supposed to be. My older sister wasn't really into MLP either, it was all Barbie and Bratz to her and I really didn't like that type of stuff xP

I remember watching The Powerpuff Girls as a kid and I sure did love watching it with my sister, watching them fight were so badass and  the story to each episode were all very interesting to me.

I agree with you.  I believe that if it had come out when I was a kid, I would have loved it, but I would not have appreciated it on the level I do now.  I am glad that it is something that is still happening in my life right now, as apposed to a happy memory.

I think I would have. However like the poster above said I would have watched it in private, but this is only because back then I cared about what my friends thought of what I watched. Now I know they don't really care smile.png.

Reasons:

-When I was younger I watched cartoons of all types

-I think that despite the shows girly nature I think I would have found it entertaining

Dear god Rarity's hooves are way too short in that picture. She almost looks like a purple haired pig. I mean come on just look at it.
