What do you think about when you can't sleep?

I don't think about anything, I usually just grab my phone and scroll through status updates on Facebook till I get very tired and just fall asleep with ease. xD

Pretty much what I do. I'll listen to music and just go on my phone until I start to feel drowsy. Oh, the many conveniences of the modern smartphone :D

I often can't get to sleep.  I really rely on sleep aids (Equate brand from walmart)....I really hate relying on aids.  I used to take prescription sleep aids, but every one I tried (7 different kinds), ended up making me restless.  If i start thinking about things before bed, then i will not get to sleep.  If I start thinking about negative things (which is very common for me), I have to get up and watch something really ridiculous (such as pony parodies, or anything that makes me lose brain cells) until I can't comprehend anything anymore.  Otherwise I pray, and listen to my husband's breathing as he sleeps.

Well, there a lot of choices -

1. Usually if I cant sleep that meens that something happend and I'm thinking about that.

2. Analysing book i've read today\film I've watched today.

3. Analysing my day, there I've mistaken or just forgot something.

4. Thinking about how today's plans could go, what could be wrong and that should I do to correct that.

I think about how far away my sleeping pills are. Usually the answer is down stairs, and I sit there and think about how stupid I'm being until I drift off. It is a stupid and vicious cycle. lol

I usually just either watch TV or play some games to pass the time. But sometimes, I like to rant about whatevers been bothering me the whole day. Quietly though. So no one wakes up.

Uhh, I try not to think about anything since thoughts just keep me up all night. Yep, I try to empty my mind and slow my breathing so that I can fall asleep.

 

The thoughts that plague my mind at night can range from arbitrary to important and harmless to worrisome. It can be something like what I'll have to accomplish the following day to why the "holy trinity" exists in MMORPGs. It's just whatever happens to be on my mind really.

It depends on what the day was like, my job is a bit hectic so each day is different for me. I usually go over everything I did that day, sometimes it back fires and I end up thinking about my whole freaking life for hours. 

I typically try to empty my mind of thoughts when I'm trying to sleep, if that doesn't work I'll usually pray knowing that I fall asleep often during prayer. XD

  It varies.  Sometimes I come up with stories or go through different scenarios in my head.  I could also think about various songs, things I want to do the next day or things I wanna do in general, things I should do more often etc...Those are a few example that I could think of.

That's the same as me, pretty much. I just Internet until I feel sleepy, sometimes this can take until up to 2 in the morning. Mainly because I spend until 11:00 on Skype before my parents chastise me for having not gone to bed like I was supposed to 2 hours before.

I don't have a tv, and I already swore that my computer would always be off as soon as the clock tick to 8 P.M., so when I couldn't sleep I always end up staring at the ceiling while my mind drones on like it's The Shining. Twas a fun time.

My life at the moment. How things are going. My best friend/lover. My friends. My future. Music. My current projects. School. I think about things that could've been, and things that are to be. 

 

Sounds really sappy, I know. :P

When I can't sleep, it's usually of stupid song lyrics or thinking about what happened that day. The way I fall asleep is thinking about video games, like Pokémon, BF3 map tactics, and Dead Island stuff.

I either either come up with stories in my head (like if I had super powers, if I ended up in another world or something) or think of what to draw next.

Or either get on my iPod and look at iFunny.

Or listen to music, or watch a YT video.

Or at least watch some television, and see any good shows are on until I get sleepy.

Alot of times I just watch youtube videos, although sometimes I'll be pondering my life or other things, or maybe feeling self pitty for myself, maybe I'll just be really deep in thought about things or sad about some event of my daily life or of that day.

 

It really all depends, nothing really consistent though.

I haven't had a sleepless night in years, so I guess I wouldn't really know exactly what thoughts help me sleep. Although when I do need to sleep I usually just shut off the outside world and let my mind wander.

When I can't sleep i take a trip down memory lane and review how I've lived my life thus far. The achievements I got, the mistakes I made.

 

That or I think about what I am going to do on the next day.

I think about almost everything, and it's not only when i can't sleep, i think about many things before sleeping too, like my future, good songs, and things that happen to me on a day, etc.

Oh, man. It sounds like a lot of you keep yourselves up with worry every night. As soon as I lie in bed, my mind tends to gravitate towards things I've recently done that I regret/worry me e.g. "I can't believe I told him something so embarrassing!", "I took too many days off of school, I'm screwed!", "I wonder if he thinks I'm ugly."

 

I play these worries over and over in my head, so I try to imagine fluffy fantasy scenarios to clear my head of the worry so I can finally sleep. It helps sometimes.... I'm really neurotic.

When I can't sleep, I try to think about why I am here and what can I do change this and all thinking usually makes me tired. If that method doesn't work then I just go on YT and watch a video that is calming and relaxing like a MLP episode.

Yes, I'm weird like that. 

 

I love calculating/imagining the career of the perfect, Hall of Fame, fantasy baseball player and how awesome it'll be when he leads the Mets to 7 World Series championships.
