Wow, the GUI on my second generation Ipod Touch looks better than this. My Samsung Galaxy Axiom does to. This looks like something you'd get on a old first gen smartphone.

It seems that ever since Steve Jobs passed away Apple has been running out of ideas. I mean, what is this? The app icons used to have that cool, modern feel to them that we know and love, and now they're taking a step back? I mean, apparently this 'super-simple' style is the new 'modern' but I don't like it. It just seems to me that Apple is over-simplifying its products, and I don't like that.

 

I mean, come on... What is this? You can do better, Apple.

I don't get it why people are trying to copy the Windows Phone aesthetic, imo if you want it so bad you should just buy a Windows Phone device (besides that would be good for WP owners like me, more users = more developers interested in the platform = more apps) but at the same time this shows me how successful Metro/Modern UI is if everyone else wants to jump in on the minimalistic, flat approach to design

Apple's implementation, however, is utter shit. It's not pleasing to the eye, it's surprisingly cluttered and the icons (probably the most important part of iOS as the Home screen is where app icons go) are bland and uninspired.

I don't think its awful, I think its a good idea to have white text on bright backgrounds, and sometimes black text on gradients.

The icons are a new, a somewhat flat design which makes me think of windows 8 and windows phone 8. I like it.

And new features: like moving 3D wallpapers when you tilt the device, new siri voices, and dynamic wallpapers.

The multitasking GUI is almost the same as the windows phone but improvements.

Other than that, its not half bad.

I like it, especially when compared to the skeuomorphic design (which I never really liked) of the current iOS layout. I like how it's simple with details, you could say "less is more". I doubt Apple will do this, but it might not hurt to have an option where the user can change between the new layout and the old one at their discretion.

 

I just want them to make their standard alarm clock app more fluid and easier to set up, never liked spinning those slot things.

Yeah, it's too bright, I really don't want that... On anything, Microsoft or Apple. Plus, to me it doesn't even look like Apple. =/

 

I just got an iPhone (I know, I know... I gave into the dark side of touch screen phones) and I'm not ready for it to look like that.

I've been reading a couple of reviews last night. Still debating, 'cause I still have an iphone4. I read it slows down the phone a little. ;_; Plus, I won't get all the cool features. Same thing for ipad3~

Omg, all day today everyone at school was trying to download it, especially at lunch.

 

I personally don't have an Iphone, just an Ipod. And my Ipod has no space left hardly, so i don't think i can update with the little space i have.

 

My brother updated though, looks pretty cool, i like the new interface, it looks nice i guess. 

 

I don't know any specifics really though. 

 

All i know as it was a pretty big deal at my school. ;p.

Just downloaded it and i so far personal dont like the feel of the way it looks, lookong for a way way to revert the look nack but tjere doesnt seem to be one. But the new features supposed to make it harder to steal disable the find me iphone and make it harder to sell so not bad there

I actually like that its got a simpler look to it, though I think they should put in for themes, so people can CHOOSE for themselves what it looks like.

 

And tbh its the first update I've seen on the iOS I actually feel a sort of WANT for.

It finally gets rid of excessively limited space in folders, makes settings quick access, moves that stupid search function, etc...

 

Now if they'd clean up and allow for additional content on the tool bars, and free placement of the icons I'd never jailbreak it again.

Until I saw iOS7 here I was actually considering going back to Android since they SEEM to have gotten better than they were when I had them originally years ago.

Though still riddled with security problems, I usually don't have jack on my phone worth hiding.

But this update finally brought in things that people have been asking for since the original IPhone 3 for crying out loud.

 

Whether or not they took things from windows or android, I don't care. Still more secure, better supported, and less likely to fry over an update like my original android phone did (no joke, so many updates the phone burned out within 6 months... Couldn't even take calls without crashing!)

 

Windows phone.... seriously, does anything more need be said about that?

Transparency, new features, better performance (iPhone 5 at least anyway) and a nicer overall design which is more consistent through out? What is there not too like... Everyone's jumping on this flat colours trend and Apple are doing their own spin on it which is lovely.

 

The parallax feature however did screw with my already screwed up eyes so I had to use Accessibility options to disable it, BUT HEY, at least Apple give you the choice!

 

iOS 7 is gorgeous, performs well and the design is consistent. 9/10 cause game centre is still skeuomorphic which makes no sense.

Ew gross. I honestly think it looks like one of those toy IPhones that you give to 2nd Graders. It looks lazy and simply....ugly. I dont understand why everyone is obsessed with upgrading. Apple comes out with a new program about every year.

Apparently apple forgot everything about good phone design with their new version of iOS. Not only are they showing that they have no capacity to think of something themselves (the phone looks like a rip off of an android theme, and it's dual app functionality is straight from windows phone), but they are just sloppily implementing things and it's bad.

I think there was lot of potential in many of the things they upgraded. The themes in app seem pretty ok and simplicity is rather well done. There is just the thing with the icons they have failed badly at.

 

I mean, the gradients thing has gone overboard. The photos, game center, safari and videos icons are a special blend of horrible. Also the icons in Safari are extra bad, there is no reason the icons should be just 1px solid lines. If they were made a little bolder it had been ok.

 

Missing the great look and feel of apple products here. The feel is good, but the look is not.

I think it looks nice and just like one of the poll questions said, it is good to be updated. The only problem that I thought there was, but wasn't, was entering your password. The pin things or whatever they are called were black, and I just happened to have a dark background and I couldn't see it.

 Also the icons in Safari are extra bad, there is no reason the icons should be just 1px solid lines. 

 

Safari... do people actually use that?

TBH figured Chrome and Firefox trumped it the same way they had Explorer on windows

 

I simply couldn't resist that... sry. Its one of those overly easy ones that just have to be let out.

 

In other news, I suppose i should load up safari and see this for myself. If its that bad, its gotta be worth seeing at least once.

And one complaint I have from the upgrade.. well, more an iTunes thing. It didn't properly reinstall my backup when it was supposed to and nearly cost me me MLP game stuff.... thankfully I DID have it backed up, so no harm.. but that was a helluva scare! They really should have it tied to the Gameloft or center account to register the saves or something, theres no reason for this excessively easy to lose your data BS these days

It's too...bright and unoriginal for me, and a 180 on the old shell design. Being used to the original black and transparent smoke gray of the previous release, 7 makes my eyes hurt just LOOKING at the screenshots. @_@

 

I'm better off waiting until Evad3rs releases their 6.1.3 untethered jailbreak than updating. I second the thought that Apple's dying, they're running out of ideas for iOS. I wasn't intending this to be a hate post, but come ON, Apple. -_-

Looks alright to me, but I still have a lowly iPhone 4.  I'm sure all that fancy mathematics will gum up my phone's two year old processor.

Actually with jailbreak you could get the theme back and plenty more using winterboard...

+ get the new features and all that jazz on top of it.

I'd dload the package at least just in case if I were you, no telling if they'll jailbreak further iterations later on, like with iOS6 where they last touched 6.1

ECH, as a person who really hate's change having an Apple product is getting harder and harder.

 

I understand that I'm not being forced to update (fuck I'm STILL on 5.1.1 the same version it was on when I got it) but it's not gonna be long before I have no choice, also even if jailbreak comes out for this, if I'm forced to use this new design I might switch to Android.

Ehh. I was unwarare of the ios update until my brother mentioned it. I upgraded just cause. I don't know why. I don't love it or hate it, its kinda just there.

I really hate the new design. One of the perks in Apple products for me was the style of the OS, and now it's just... No I can't describe why I don't like it... It might be a matter of getting used to, but I'm going to try and stay on iOS 6 as long as I can.
