I've seen a lot of hate towards Rarity

 

Agree with @Scootalove on this one, I dont know why her character receives so much hate. I love rarity I think she as a funny personality and a great voice actor.

I honestly thought Rarity was the most girlish, superficial, and snobbish character in the show when I was watching it for the very first time. I felt like my masculinity was diminishing greatly from every second of just seeing her 'fashionista' attitude and demeanor. I felt like she was really an unnecessary and useless character that would not add to the show or contribute to the plot-line at all.

 

Now before all your Rarity lovers come at me with your pitchforks and threats to crucify me, let me just say, that I only had those thoughts when first seeing her on the screen. Thoughts that I now regret big time.

 

After getting to know her character over the course of watching the series, I soon realized that I had easily misunderstood her. I learned that there is so much depth to her. She's not just a superficial, arrogant, fashion princess; she has dreams, she has brilliance and she has mannerisms that are inspiring to have.

 

She's not selfless but rather considerate towards others and their needs. She creates her fashion with the full intent purpose of helping those in ponyville who just want to look their best. She's the kind of pony who would listen and tend to other's needs. She's kind and she's super generous.

 

I now see why she represents the element of generosity and in the course of the series, she has clearly proven that she has lived up and stayed true to her element's name. 

 

Her character design is rather unique and pretty as well. Her mane is the most stylish I have seen amongst all the ponies, and her eyes are so adorable!

 

Plus she's had so many funny moments in the series! All the moments and scenes of her overreacting are priceless.

 

I think she is almost as funny as Pinkie Pie!

 

So yeah, Rarity is such an amazing pony! I definitely think she deserves another episode of her own in season 4 since she didn't get one in season 3! She needs more love.

When it comes to the mane six I love them all, however, Rarity is my second to least favorite. In other words, she's #5 on my list. Currently, I've realized that I've focused more attention on the top three of my list and I've been neglecting Applejack, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie, so I've been giving special attention to them. I'm on Applejack now but Rarity is next.

 

I do love Rarity though. I love how she seems like a superficial, snobbish, and vain pony, but she truly has a good heart and she's an artist with her chosen craft.

I wouldn't say Rarity is my favorite, but she's up there in my list.  Top 3 for sure.  She has her hilarious moments ("THIIISS IS WHIIIINNNING!"), her serious moments, and I totally love her relationship with Sweetie Belle.  I didn't really like her when I first got into the show, but it didn't take very long for her to grow on me.  Plus there's Spike's crush on her to consider, I find it incredibly funny whenever that gets brought up.

When I first started, I wasn't big on Rarity. The more I watched, the more I like her. She is very funny and adorable. She is my second favorite pony. I've seen more people complain about her being unpopular, then hate her. Just cause she is not everyones favorite, don't mean they hate her. Rarity is very lovable, in my eyes.

I have a question regarding to rarity.

 

As much as everypony here says she is generous and a good fashion designer there, I do agree there But does she ever nitpick or criticises some pony's taste of fashion as she is a professional fashion designer? Not saying she insults them but how exactly would she react to a pony who is messy or fashion that is not her standard?

Well if you know me, you know I love Rarity. She's beautiful, generous, funny, and overall unpredictable- you just never know how she's gonna react to something. There's just nopony else who's quite like her, in fact she's probably one of my favorite characters that I've ever seen in, well, anything.

"Just look at those stripes! So garish!" - she sayd about Zecora in "Bridle Gossip".

But the problem of that episode is that the whole Mane Six acted more into stereotypes they accended from. So did Rarity.

for me the best pony is twilight sparkle, but i love RD and rarity. i like all the main six but i really do love Rarity. i fell in love with Rarity upon seeing "Sonic Rainboom." Before that i could hardly like her but she has become one of my favorites. I really liked her in sweet and elite, sleepless in ponyville and she did a bang up job in lesson zero.

Rarity is maybe the most important character, considering the target audience. Writers took an often negatively seen stereotype and made a very deep character out of that, providing an excelent role model for little girls.

I maybe wrong on this, but I feel, the most popular female role models nowadays are: either asexual career woman (trying to beat men on their field), or"sexually liberated" slut.

And than MLP:FiM comes and says: look girls! You are allowed be ladylike. And somewhat snobish or self-centered. As long as you achieve somthing in your life. And you can achive that something, you can realize yourself using those your traits like being ladylike or fashionista.

BTW: if you are creative, you have to be somewhat self-sentered.

I personally think Rarity is the best designed pony (gotta love white and purple) and she also has the best voice. (seriously, what accent does she have?)

As for my own views, she it definitely best pony and I very much identify as the Rarity amongst my friends lol. Oh, and we both do share a sense of fashion and style, I even went to Fashion Design School for two years I just love her characterization and depth, and relate so well to her mannerisms. I admit, sadly she has come over greedy despite the fact that she has or is the element of generosity, which has not won her any friends.

 

I wish they would portray her element better or give her more chances to sue it in big ways, I mean she made them dresses but thats all really!

I don't dislike any character, but at the same time I don't really rank them either. I love Rarity's drama and how she is so particular. I met Tabitha St. Germain at Bronycan. She is super nice and funny. I was waiting to get her autograph, she had to get up for something and she smiled at me and rubbed my arms. It was weird but nice to see how she has fun with the fans.

Rarity is pretty gorgeous. That's pretty much all I can say, that she's gorgeous.  Yeah, she seems to become dis likable in some episodes, but whatever.

Personally, I feel like more can be done with her.

 

But, apparently the writer's don't know exactly how to do that without making her seem like a negative character as this was the reason she was replaced by Applejack in 'Spike At Your Service'.

 

Hopefully, they've found a way around this for Season 4 as I would prefer every member of the Mane Six to have a chance to shine.
