I don't get the fuss about her voice, though To me it just sounds really similar to her regular voice, but eh. AJ's sounds super close to her regular voice too, for what it's worth.

Rainbow, out of all the Mane 6, has my favorite singing voice. It's odd how Rainbow still doesn't have a song of her own. You'd think she would have gotten one all the way back in Season 1 or 2. 

If Applejack can get her own song, I don't see why Rainbow can't.

Exactly.  The little cracks are just so endearing and make her voice so unique.  It's one of those weird traits that by logic shouldn't be appealing, yet it is.  There's many real life singers that have traits like that.  (Wait, what I am saying, RD isn't real, but the person who sings sure is!  You know what I mean.)  Some examples of singers like that are Louis Armstrong and Rod Stewart.  Both very raspy.  Rod was told countless times that he'd never make it as a singer, that he had a terrible voice, yet so many people love him.  From a technical standpoint, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson don't really have that great of singing voices, yet there's just something unique and charming about their voices that people simply love.  Rainbow is the same way.  Certainly she doesn't have the vocal range or talent of Rarity, but she has a such a unique charm.  I really want to hear more of her.  If she doesn't get her own song in season 5, so help me I'll have no choice but to keep being frustrated and continue waiting.

I would love to hear a RD song, as long as it fits well and seems natural to her character. Wasn't it RD who complained about ponies spontaneously singing in Rarity Takes Manehattan?

Like others have said, her crackly voice is adowable   She had the best part in 'At the Gala', made it 20% cooler for sure.

I'm all for Dashie getting a solo song, it's kinda weird she hasn't yet.

 

Honestly she isn't my absolute favorite singing voice of the mane 6(That goes to Twilight) but I still like it, and it has this nice uniqueness to it.

 

Plus everypony else has, so it just makes sense. ;p.

 

Heck even Celestia got a solo song.
