I have had one minor and one major. If you want to know more about that, then I have already told you about it where you ask about the most pain I have felt :)

What did the appendix pain feel like?

I am very curious. Please describe it to me

The pain felt like a thousand knives were stabbing me at the same time. The feeling was constant and was the worst pain I ever felt. I'm not overexagerating; it was literally the worst pain I felt in my entire life.

They pit you to sleep to get your ingrown toenail removed?

I wish they had done that to me!n I cried like a baby when I get the anesthetic injections.

I see. :o How old were you when you had yours removed? (I think the only reason they put me to sleep was because I wouldn't let the doctor touch my feet at all. Like I wouldn't let him get close. I was crying in the office too. XD But I was ten. So I guess it's to be expected.)

I've never required surgery thankfully, the only hospital visit for me in recallable memory was when I fell asleep with earphones in and the bud got stuck.  A few nurses tried to get it out with no success then an E.N.T. Specialist popped it out in what seemed like 5 seconds flat.

I had a painful one not long ago. I was carrying a sofa backwards while on my work placement at St. Lukes Hospice when I tripped over a small wooden post. I first thought it was my leg that had been heard, but then I got a sharp pain from my left hand's middle finger, I looked at it to see that the fingernail had fully popped out of the skin and was bleeding like crazy. Went to the hospital and they had to remove the nail, stitch up some scratches and then put the nail back so the surface would be flat for the new nail to grow back right. It was a very painful experience.

Let's see...

I've had surgery on a shattered elbow

I've had several eye surgeries

I've had several ingrown toenails

I've had surgery to heal a broken wrist

I've had surgery to heal a broken foot

...I think it's fair to say I've spent my fair share of time under the knife.

Can you please give some detail as to why it should be banned?

There's no consent for the undergoer of this unnecessary operation. I don't see any benefit to it, only disadvantages. This is a very debatable topic and I have quite a biased opinion. I know I'm not the only one here who had this done to them at such an early age. It defies multiple laws we all see punishable. Like Pinkie Pie defying gravity.

I've had a couple, myself.  One was an appendectomy around when I was 8, The other was a procedure after I had fallen and cracked my skull to remove the blood and relieve the pressure off of my brain and also to kind of pop out the dent in my skull from the impact. Apparently, they did this with some sort of plunger, like you would if you were popping out dents on a car body.

Also, if it counts, I've had a couple of EGDs done. They basically pump you full of drugs and shove a camera down your throat. You're awake for the entire procedure, but you don't remember anything.  Afterwards, your throat is dry and you're high as a kite.  I think I told the nurses multiple times how awesome the drugs they gave me were.

Oh yeah, I also forgot that I had two teeth pulled last September because they were getting in the way of my teeth.

It's good they're gone because they were always hurting and always felt loose.

I had my tonsils removed at 17.

Really? What was that like?

How did it feel afterwards?

I've had three major ear surgeries (two to cut polyps off before they reached my facial nerve, one to reconstruct the bones in my ear), an appendectomy, a a hernia repair, a foot surgery, a root canal, wisdom teeth removal, and finger reconstruction.  (In order of seriousness)

back in... I wanna say 2013...

I had to get my wisdom teeth removed and that was.... ahmmm... not... fun

It hurt... alot like... alot alot and and for the first few weeks my mouth filled with blood if I did anything ever. I swear even thinking about it happening would make it happen.

also I had a root canal late 2014

dose a root canal count as a surgery? well I had to lie down for a prolonged period of time while doctors did things to me, so yes I'm counting it!

The root canal was especially nerve wracking for me cause they couldn't put me to sleep for the duration of it. So I had to sit there fully awake and aware while they did the root canal and... it actually wasn't that bad.

if I had any other surgeries I can't remember them so... there you go!

They drugged me for the procedure, so it was over before it began to me.

Throat was really sore for about a week or two after, though. It's really hard to talk for the first few days.

  • 3 years later...

Just my tonsils and adendoids(SP?) taking out around four or five. I also had surgery to get my bad teeth removed for personal reasons (in other words: don't ask). The only thing my insurance would cover was the ability to have me put to sleep at a hospital, so that's what we did.

I've never had surgery, EVER. But, my father has had a lot of surgeries before due to his cancer and heart disease (he later died in May 13, 2017 and exactly an hour before Mother's Day). Since the heart disease problem has been a thing running in my family history (really my father's side), I might end up like him if I don't stay healthy.

Well I had one, uhhh, down there cuz we lived in a Muslim-majority country before moving to France.

Many years later, there was a long series of operations to restore my dentition (I called it "dental overhaul" on my tumblr) because I took pretty shit care of my teeth. On the plus side, we took that opportunity to readjust some of my teeth which, despite years of orthodontic therapy, were starting to shuffle around again.

Finally, I had LASIK on my eyes because, frankly, my glasses were getting pretty T H I C C and lenses only wrecked my cornea. I wanted to leave all of those struggles behind, for the small price of complete non-stop ocular agony for 24 hours.
