Yea i liked this DBZ episode

Oh right, MLP, well all i can say, is that i will miss the library D:

And, if something comes up, the mane 6 will use again the Rainbow power?, it isn't a tangible object like the elements of harmony, it may be gone from the chest, that or...

The mane 6 will be able to transform into Rainbow Ponies at will, meaning a posibility of DBZ like figth scenes on every S5 episode    OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH

SPOILER ALERT: Discord becomes a villain again. :o

Discord never became reformed, he pretended to. Don't know if Hasbro did that as a joke or on purpose as sort of a spoiler for this episode, but it never happened. Just sayin'. ;)

I'm really late to the MLP party, but I finally finished the seasons tonight. I really liked these episodes & thought the fight between Twilight/Tirek was pretty epic. The new castle looks good, and I like the King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table feel to it.

Can't wait for the new season now!

Tirek is, pretty much, MLP's version of the devil.

I mean, what do you expect for a guy that first looks weak but then turns into Godzilla?

Doesn't help he has horns and, well, is evil.

For kids!

Tirek is undoubtably one of the best villains we have had in a while, in a lot of shows, and he defies all the stupid cliches that are bounded to every villain...except discord.

I really liked this ending to the season, it stuck to it's songs while holding a darker side too it. Lord Tirek was good as a villain because he can use words to get to people and the fact that they brought back an enemy from the old series is something most remakes would not do. Also, that fight scene was awesome and totally made for the bronies. However, it did have it's flaws as well, the biggest problem I have is that known as 'Rainbow power'. Don't get me wrong, it was pretty awesome, but the stupid amount of hair given to them and the fact that their cutie marks ended up all over their hooves was a bit over the top; they would have been fine with just putting the coloured stripes in their hair and maybe making their manes a little longer. The other problem was the fact that we had an awesome fight and then it ends just like that when they get the rainbow power; even when Tirek had pretty much all the magic in Equastria, plus the power of four Alicorns, that for me was really disappointing. Lastly, that castle really didn't need to be made of crystal.

All in all though, I would at least give it a 8/10 for being well done and still keeping to the MLP way.  :fluttershy:

I really hope that they might be able to work a little mini-backstory around that :squee:

Hasbro has made it quite clear that MLP is NOT for little girls anymore.

Little girls can like lasers and explosions, too. It's all thanks to the pink and blue syndrome that no one thinks girls can like lasers and explosions.

Did anyone else notice that Twilight's crappy key moment retroactively made the most incredible achievement in the entire show's running completely worthless?

Fluttershy reformed Discord on her own because she's the only one who could. It's pretty undeniably the most amazing feat that has ever been pulled off in all of Equestrian history.

But then suddenly "Whoops, looks like Fluttershy just wasn't good enough lol. Only PRINCESS TWILIGHT can for reals teach Discord the true meaning of friendship. Sorry Flutters, you're worthless once again.

I also think that was a major screw-up on their part, but the mindset is that "The main main character has to be the person that is the most important yada yada".

I really think that Fluttershy doesn't get the credit she desrves.

Quite good.  Overall, I'm pretty happy.  I like what they did this season, and I like how they ended it.

I waited until the dvds came out to watch season 4.  I have stayed out of Show Discussion until now to avoid spoilers, but I didn't want to avoid MLPF completely, so it's kind of impossible not to see some spoilers.  I knew nothing about the premiere, Princess Twilight Sparkle, so that was nice, but I had a pretty good idea of the plot of Twilight's Kindgom going in, unfortunately.  But that didn't spoil my enjoyment.  I was in it for the journey, not the ending, and the show still managed to surprise me.

I had some predictions about this episode.  Some were right, and (I'm pleased to say) some were wrong.  Obviously, I knew their element test gift thingys were going to be their keys, but I thought Twilight's test of magic would simply be solving the riddle of the chest.  I didn't expect her test to come in the form that it did, and I didn't expect her gift to come from Q.  I liked that.  Of course, it didn't take a rocket scientist to know what was in the chest, considering that the super sayajin ponies were on the friggin dvd box.  Oh well.  I still enjoyed it.  I did inadvertantly see some spoilers here and there on the forums about Twilight getting a castle.  Back when the mane 6 were trying to restore the castle of the sisters (a project they apparently abandoned. :S) I predicted that the castle of the sisters would end up being restored by rainbow power and made into the castle of the 6.  Obviously I was quite wrong.  I do like being surprised, though.

Overall, I really liked the story, and I don't have much to pick at.  It was a solid and epic finale.  Everyone says Tirek vs. Twilight felt like DBZ, but the whole time, I was only thinking one thing: Kal vs. Zod.  And it was awesome.  This episode basically delivered my ultimate fantasy: Mare of Steel.  And it was done in a believable way.  Tirek was also a much more developed villain than, say, Sombra or Chrysalis, so that was nice.  And I loved their reason for Tirek escaping Tartarus.  That was really clever.  The only thing that would have made the battle better for me is if Tirek had been the same size as Twilight.  Maybe that wouldn't have worked with him, but sometime I want to see the villain be a pony their own size, so Twilight can really go hoof to hoof with them.  Like Trixie, I guess, but it would be for keeps.

I have some reservation about Castle Twilight.  I think that the decision to give her a tree castle was pefectly fine, but I feel like it was too soon.  I'm afriad this will upset the balance and formula that makes the show so good.  I mean, I'm worried it just won't feel like Ponyville or FIM without the old tree library.  It was so cute and cozy.  I'm really going to miss the place.  This will change things.  I just can't picture having birthday parties and sleepovers in the castle.  Remember Look Before You Sleep?  We'll never be able to have things like that again.  That's kind of sad.  I feel like I want a music video montage of the Library, to say goodbye.  Somebody should do that.  Maybe I will.  But that's a crapton of work.  I kind of feel like the show is changing too fast.  I have said many times that I wished they had save Magical Mystery Cure for the series finale.  Then Princess Twilight and Twilight's Kingdom would be the movie.  Something like that.  *Sigh*, but on the other hoof, I'm thinking about the possibilites that the castle opens up, and it could be amazing, if they do it right.  Perhaps life in Ponyville won't be as simple, cute, and cozy as before, but maybe that's fine.  We could have big galas at the castle.  Rarity would design dresses for it, and the Ponytones could perform there.  What a venue!  But still, how can the others just keep living in their old dumps while Twilight has a friggin castle?  I'm afraid it will separate them too much.  (And yes, I'm aware the castle is kind of all of theirs, but I don't think they're all going to move in there.)  I have very mixed feelings.  Ultimately, it's a great decision, but I'm just worried it was too soon.  Then again, maybe the FIM team wants to avoid keeping things the same for too long until the show becomes stale.  Maybe they want to eschew the old stereotype of everything being back to normal at the end of every episode.  Change might be good.  More realistic, perhaps.  Mixed feelings.

The biggest thing to talk about here, though, is Q.  At first, I was bummed that he betrayed everypony.  Then I got to thinking: his reform in Keep Calm was way too fast.  We all know that.  I believe he never really reformed until now.  Oh, he wasn't evil, and he played along, but friendship wasn't genuinely important to him.  I never really bought his "reform" moment in Keep Calm.  But I did buy his reform moment in Twilight's Kindgom.  It took something bigger for him to truly reform.  It took making friends, then completely losing them before he realized what they meant.  And I don't think it was a bad idea for him to waver and betray the ponies for awhile, because you don't want Q to truly be a complete good guy.  He's suppose to be mischevious.  Hopefully he won't lose that quality.  I really liked his apology, though, and his gift to Twilight.  I was surprisingly moved by that scene, and thought it was pretty genuine.  Like I said, I finally bought it, whereas I never did before, and wondered if he was just faking and playing along this whole time.  But there is one problem.  This:

Did anyone else notice that Twilight's crappy key moment retroactively made the most incredible achievement in the entire show's running completely worthless?

Fluttershy reformed Discord on her own because she's the only one who could. It's pretty undeniably the most amazing feat that has ever been pulled off in all of Equestrian history.

But then suddenly "Whoops, looks like Fluttershy just wasn't good enough lol. Only PRINCESS TWILIGHT can for reals teach Discord the true meaning of friendship. Sorry Flutters, you're worthless once again.

I agree.  This is a thing which kind of sucks.  I do have a small defense, though.  I think Fluttershy's influence was important, because it was her friendship that Q missed the most.  He felt worse about hurting her than anypony else.  He apologized specifically to her when they were all at Tirek's mercy.  He wouldn't have felt this way if not for Fluttershy's special personality, and ability to see what the others could not, and willingness give him a chance.  I postulate that if it had not been for Fluttershy, he may not have "reformed" again.  But then again, who knows.  Without his magic, what else could he do?  But I don't think he would have felt so genuinely sorry had it not been for her friendship.  After all, Fluttershy was the only one he actually kept in regular contact with.  She was the only one who was actually friends with him.  I don't think Fluttershy is worthless.  But like I said, it's a small defense.  This is still a problem which can't really be swept under the rug, and it does sour things a bit.  I just like to look for the positives.

While we're still on the subject of Q, it is really hard to fully forgive him for this betrayal, whether he was actually reformed before now or not.  This is one of those can't-be-taken-back situations.  I mean, how can you really be friends with someone when you know their true feelings, that all they mean to you is basically "good enough for now," and they're prepared and willing to sell you right down the river when they see an opportunity for personal gain?  Hmm...who else did this exact same thing this season?  Who else just betrayed and abandoned their friend, then later said, "Oh just kidding, buds again?"  Oh yeah, that's right:

Captain Spit-f*ckin-fire

Maybe those two should be friends.  It's tough to overlook these things, but I can actually forgive Q more easily, as he's had much less experience with friendship, and how to properly treat others.  I believe Q is serious this time.  But as I said, I don't wan't him to be too good.  I don't want him to have an element of friggin harmony or a throne in the castle.  I don't want the mane 7.  I want him to be mischevious.  I want him to remain Q.

Let's see...anything else?  I guess that's it.  Oh, that moment when Fluttershy hugs Q, when you know what he has done, that was a dagger in the heart, man.  Ok, I'm done.

I absolutely loved this season finale   They even made some obvious DBZ references, like when Tirek shows the races of the ponies as orbs (they look a lot like the dragon balls) and the battle, best part of the episode, felt a lot like watching Frieza vs Goku again... The dark-ish ambient helped a lot, too.

But overall, I think this was the best season so far.
