  1. G3 was the one with no villains. G3.5 sort of had one. But G1 had plenty, way more than G4 has.
  2. Tell her to get off before she breaks the bed and wash the sheets so they don't smell like a horse anymore.
  3. I think I was eight or something. I was kind of doubtful to his existence by then, so I stayed up until after what I assumed to be Midnight on Christmas Eve, saw no one come down the chimney, thought to myself, "I guess he isn't real, then", and promptly went to sleep.
  4. You'd have to post pics in order for us to ID which gen they are from, but here are some unique features that differentiate them. G3 and G1 look somewhat similar, but G1s have their cutie marks (which are just called symbols with G1/G2) on both sides. G2s look very different to G1s, more slender (think of Celestia/Luna/Cadance's body type as compared to other ponies), G3s are a little smaller than G1s, have a cutie mark only on one side, and most have a small magnet on one of their front hooves with the G3 MLP logo. If they don't have a magnet, they will have a little plastic piece that also has the G3 logo on it. G3s also have a small heart on the bottom of one of their front legs. All MLPs should also have "Hasbro" and a date on their hooves (in case you got fakes in with real MLPs). As for cleaning, a Magic Eraser works wonders. It can get off most dirt/marker/other crap that kids get on their ponies. Just be careful around the eyes and cutie marks since it can rub those off. The hair doesn't really require much in terms of equipment, but just a ton of tedious work. All you need is a comb, conditioner, and possibly some detangling spray. In most cases all you need to fix up the hair is to wet it, spray some detangler or rub in some conditioner, and work through it with a comb. If you've got frizzy hair, there have been a few methods I heard of. One involves a straightening iron, but I don't have one, so I haven't tried it. What I did was boil some water in a small saucepan and submerged the hair in the boiling water (be careful not to let the body of the pony go into the water or to have the hair touch the bottom of the saucepan), and then combed the hair again. It wasn't a complete success, but they did look a lot better afterward.
  5. It all depends on what value you place on your dignity.
  6. I'd say, "I may be from the South but I'm not into farm animals."
  7. Were we watching the same thing? Because while a number of the G3 specials are pretty dull, G1 had a lot of things that caught your attention, especially the villains. I don't think it should be remade, but I think FiM needs to take more after G1 with more fantasy adventure and less slice of life which is getting stale after 5 seasons. I actually thought at the beginning of Season 5 they would do this with the map, but I should have known better.
  8. Neither, I'd record the man's speech to share with others, because a guy standing on the street decrying the evils of a girly horse cartoon is too hilarious to not share with the world.
  9. Or maybe you could watch it for yourself and actually form your own opinions.
  10. There's been fan-made content for earlier generations for a long time, it's nothing new to G4. I have a couple myself, two G3 customs and a G1 watercolor print.
  11. If you're worried about him getting bullied, then why give him a shirt as a gift at all? You have a crapton of Rainbow Dash toys/figures to choose from, why not just go with one of those?
  12. And it's a damn fine one, too. A picture under my username does not ifluence my personality. It kind of goes the other way around.
  13. I don't get why people are saying Funkos are high quality. Their quality is pretty much on par with your run of the mill blind bag. They look nice from about five feet away, but look closer you'll see sloppy paintwork, dirt, and noticable gaps. If you're going to get a Funko, get one in person, so that way you can pick out the one with the least flaws. The Mystery Minis may be better but I can't say for sure, since I don't really collect Funkos. If space and cost is an issue, blind bags are the way to go. If you need to ID them in the bag, just go to Strawberry Reef. They have a reference guide for blind bags with the codes. G4 brushables also don't take up much space and aren't too expensive, although they don't have them on sale too often. Currently, my favorite G4s are the Fashion Styles, since they're a good size, the hair is nicer, and they come with outfits. They're kind of pricey though, about the same as a Funko. As far as plushes go, Build a Bears are a really good value for money, since they're pretty big and usually go on sale right before a new release. 4DE are very nice for the price, but they only have Pinkie and Twilight now, and they've been promising new releases for the past two years.
  14. It's completely possible to have a vivid imagination and be able to distinguish between fantasy and reality.
  15. For the life of me, I will never understand why Luna has this obsessive cult like following. Well, I'm going to hazard a guess because it's she had the whole 'awkward and misunderstood' thing going for her, which understandably resonated a lot with people in this fandom ("Finally, someone who understands my pain! *Linkin Park plays in background*). Interestingly enough, she seems to be popular with G4 fans/collectors outside of the brony fandom as well.
  16. It could be a number of reasons. It could be that everyone has a unique personality, and are drawn more to some character traits more than others and dislike some character traits that others find appealing. Personally, I think it's just because they don't know any better.
  17. The only other pony in this set is a glittery Wysteria. And there are no similar sets for other ponies.
  18. It wasn't a TV show, they were all direct to video. I think I may have said something on this in the past, but it's worth mentioning again. I think it's ironic for bronies to dismiss G3 without ever seeing it and then get upset when people do the same thing with G4. And how they act like it's the worst thing ever just for being girly and cutesy, and act like they're defying gender norms. Especially since the attitude the fandom as a whole takes toward G3 seems to be to pile crap onto it do distance yourself from something that's really girly, and to get really defensive when someone mentions that FiM is for little girls.
  19. Because G2 had next to no media tie-ins and bronies on average know almost nothing about the toys. I remember being at a convention and showing someone a picture of a G2 just to show them what they looked like. Although I myself had no idea what a G2 looked like until I started being around collectors, so they get a pass. You know, based on the subject matter, I expected this to have more posts than it does. I never got the whole 'factions' thing (NLR, Solar Empire, etc.). You have a character you like, you're not picking sides in a war. It always baffled me that brony music became a thing that exists. I have no idea why it's almost compulsory for people in this fandom to make an OC, and why people talk about them so much Finally, I think it's hilarious whenever people say Funkos are quality merchandise. There's a difference between having the figure look more closely to the character in the show and actual build quality. Funko's quality sucks so hard that I always pick mine out in person to get the one with the least flaws. But really, what can you expect at that price point for a product for a niche audience?
  20. A combination of boredom and curiosity while dicking around on Knowyourmeme.
  21. Why would he pay people? I think by this point you can gather he's more a fan of deportation.
  22. I'm confused if this is serious or not as well. On the one hand the guy has "joke" right in his username, but on the other, they seem rather persistent about it. If anything like this ever tried to happen, even on a micro scale, I predict it would be about 2 weeks before the whole deal goes full-on Lord of the Flies, presumably with a plushie instead of a pigs head.
  23. Yeah, I met a few through a Facebook group that showed on a map of meetup groups they had on EqD, back when I'd go on there. But as far as finding random people in public, it's happened once or twice. I don't think I've ever really talked much to any of them.
