  1. People can enjoy movies and cartoons that make no sense because they are fun to watch. I know that 'analytical' people tend have no concept of fun, so I can see why you don't understand it. It just puzzles me why you're watching cartoons in the first place, since silly fun is their raison d'etre. Have you ever considered complaining about Star Trek instead? It seems like something that would be right up your alley.
  2. Summers can get a little hot, but I'm used to it, and I don't mind the heat so much. I just prefer summer in general, and I hate being cold. Granted we don't get a real winter like people farther north, but that doesn't mean it doesn't get cold down here. We only get a little bit of snow once or twice a year, but whenever we do it sucks. Any more than two snowflakes on the ground, and the whole South goes into panic mode. Everything closes down, people crash because they don't know how to drive in snow, and for some reason they hoard milk, bread, and apparently Pop-Tarts like it's genetically hard-wired into them.
  3. The best parts would be the many creative fan works, from art, to animation, to customs and being able to meet like-minded people and make some new friends you otherwise never would have met. The worst parts would be the pompous jackasses who consider cartoons to be some kind of high art instead of entertainment, and look into things with a level of detail not even the writers gave to it, sucking out all of the fun and turning a cartoon into an English class assignment. I really wish these people could go back to arguing about Star Trek so that they can leave cartoons alone. Most of the time I ignore these people, but sometimes you can't really avoid it. Especially when their comments take so long to scroll past. Then there's the ones that automatically call earlier gens crap even if they've never seen any of the cartoons or had the toys. Maybe you ought to give something a try before you dismiss it. And do you realize how stupid it sounds to complain about the earlier gens looking like horses and you say you like ponies? Or about how girly the older gens are, when one of the most well-recieved episodes was about a unicorn making dresses for her friends and having a fashion show, and featuring a song about making dresses? Finally, the worst of all are the people who looked at a cute, sweet cartoon and thought, "I can get off to this."
  4. If I was crying over it, it would be because the story was so cringey and I was actually spending my free time reading it instead of going out and doing something productive.
  5. This is all I know about the Netherlands- flat, windy, lots of dams and dikes, and lots and lots of bicycles. And that Dutch sounds like a non-angry version of German. And apparently they have very poor distribution for pony toys. Also, everything is expensive (but the same is true of Western Europe in general).
  6. There are many unique things about my OC, but here are the three that stand out the most- 1. Has an MG34 machine gun for a leg. 2. Is a part changeling, part zebra, part Saiyan dualicorn (like an alicorn, but has two horns). 3. Single handedly defeated Nazi Germany.
  7. My feelings on the Comic Sans of hats- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_9XBWgO2LE
  8. I'm sorry to disappoint you, but 'cool' and 'brony' are two things which are just incompatible with one another. Best of luck, though.
  9. Get out as soon as you can if you want any chance to have a normal life.
  10. It's not like this is going to be the last movie. They make one every year to tie in with the new line of dolls, so the movies will stop coming out when they stop making the dolls.
  11. Eagerly await the day where I can do an image search on an MLP character and not see fetish art of it.
  12. You can call yourself whatever the hell you want. There is no concrete definition of the word, despite what anyone says.
  13. I have a good-sized collection at the moment, mostly G4s. G4 is still my favorite to collect, but G3 is very close because of the variety of characters, and better quality, plus they're dirt cheap now. G1 doesn't appeal as much as G3 and G4, but I have a handful of them, and I'd love to get more. I may end up getting a G2 or two, but they don't appeal to me much. EDIT: Since it got moved to the thread where you show your collection, I might as well upload some photos.
  14. I tend to buy most stuff in person, mostly because I don't want to pay for shipping. I stopped being nervous about it after about a few times. Okay, I've never completely stopped being nervous about it, since I mostly wait around for the pony aisle to clear out before picking out what I want, or at least try not to get in anyone else's way if they are in the aisle. I still have a tendency to walk away when someone else comes up and I'm looking through some of the toys, seeing if they have what I'm looking for. Checkout has never been a problem, though. No one has ever said anything to me about it, and I don't really say anything to them, since odds are they're assuming it's a gift for a little girl. Well, everyone except Build-a-Bear. I can't fault them for trying to be friendly and talk with the customer while they're stuffing the plush, but they always ask who it's for. It's not too hard to lie about it, but to have people ask you does kind of catch you off guard if you're not used to it.
  15. I'm not getting into a relationship with a horse. I'm not from that part of the South.
  16. Hey! Just because you have a room filled with hundreds of ponies and MLP decor doesn't mean that.... oh, Goddammit, you're right. I'm not really a brony anymore, though, more into collecting the toys, so it's kind of unavoidable.
  17. Since when we're G4s overpriced? If anything, they're too cheap. Except for maybe the blind bags. Anyway, I'm not buying it. Especially since it's from an MLP reddit.
  18. I've picked up the game of Red that I had gotten halfway through last year, and decided to actually name my Pokemon. Some are MLP references, some are other pop culture references, some are just dumb jokes. Off the top of my head I have Raticate- Bitey Machoke- Roid Rage Horsea- Shoobedoo Gyrados- Mr. Fish Alakazam- Hindenburg Haunter- Spoopy Snorlax- Jabba These are some of my personal favorites Fearow- Peckerhead Moltres- MgaUtrChkn (Mega Ultra Chicken) Rapidash- Celestia
  19. There wasn't much of a gap between me first seeing G4 and getting into it, and even then I saw them only a handful of times in pictures added to Livejournal posts. I never even saw anyone wearing an MLP shirt in public until I went to a brony meetup. I didn't really have any kind of negative feelings towards the fandom until being around it for two or three years.
  20. As someone who can grasp the difference between fiction and reality, like every other reasonably mentally healthy individual over the age of 3, no I would not. I would not feel a thing if a character were to enter into a relationship with my waifu, pictured below Isn't she gorgeous? Her name is Princess Non-Existia. And even if she were to get into a reationship with my least favorite character ever, I would have no reason to be upset. But seriously, if you actually feel like you are in a relationship with a cartoon character, you need some kind of therapy.
  21. I chose the most godawful, cliche, and stupid looking color combination I could think of- black with red stripes, and a rainbow mane and tail.
  22. Mine is named Prince Spannungsitzersteckenstückendrachendrückenbrechenbrückenwaffenwerfenfaustenschläger. It's a bunch of random German words mashed together. The intent was to make the name as long and goofy sounding as possible, while trying to cram in as many words ending in "-en" to make it sound more like gibberish. It's very fitting for an OC as gloriously terrible as mine. However, most of the time I can't even remember the name, so I call him Steve for short.
  23. I collect G3 and Equestria Girls. As you can imagine, I'm very much in the minority here.
  24. Since when was G1 infamous for how bad it was? And, I'll say it again, if you're going to say that something is bad, you should actually watch it. Am I the only one who notices the irony of people here not wanting to watch G3 since it's 'too girly'? You know, because the show where one of the main characters is a Princess telling people about the magic of friendship with spontaneous musical numbers and frequent group hugs isn't girly at all because sometimes it has villains and monsters and fighting, you guys.
