  1. Peridot is best gem and she approves of this forum. Jk, you're all a bunch of CLODS!
  2. Love Like You thoughtdump: I think "Love Like You" is Rose's thought process behind why she decided to have Steven. I mean there are some hints, like "half of what you think of me" and how Rose says she's going to become "half of" Steven. Perhaps Rose didn't feel capable of feeling or expressing love, but since Greg was obviously very capable of loving, Rose decided that creating a combination of herself and Greg would allow for the best possible person to be created. Perhaps Rose has some darkness in her past and doesn't think too highly of herself, and because she loved Greg, she wanted to do right by him.
  3. It seems to be gone, but if I stop taking chemo pills, it'll come back.
  4. I don't think the EqG films are good indicators of age at all, considering the bits and pieces we've seen of the pony CMCs where they seem to be learning pretty basic stuff, seem to be in kindergarten or first grade at the latest. But in EqG, they're high school freshman. So in the EqGverse, some are presumably aged up or aged down, which doesn't tell us much about ages in the ponyverse.
  5. It's not very good, but I like the characters of the mane cast enough that I enjoy it alright. Spike having a good role and the songs are definite highlights.
  6. I think he's disliked simply because the writers have done nothing with him. They've given him so little personality, there's just not enough to him. That and, having Twilight develop a crush on Flash was weird, I mean she just came to the human world and all of a sudden likes one of them? I think, even those who don't mind Flashlight and aren't hung up on "muh waifu" will find the relationship to be lacking. And then at the end of EqG, Twi finds Flash in the pony world and... nothing comes of it. The next season starts up and it's like he never existed. I was really disappointed when they said Flash wouldn't appear in season 4, because I feel like having him in the show would give him the chance to build character, but I guess even the show staff don't care much for him. I wouldn't say I hate or even really dislike him, personally. I just don't feel much for him. I want to like him, but anything interesting involving him has been too few and far between.
  7. Life and death and love and birth and peace and war on the planet Earth.
  8. I'm sure they think it can compete just fine. But, the less competition it has, the better it'll do, especially when it would have originally been up against an MCU movie. If you can move something to a less competitive date, you should.
  9. On the one hoof, it feels like there's so much more to explore of the MLP world, and characters like Celestia and Cheerilee are in bad need of character development. In that sense, it feels like FiM is far from over. On the other hoof... This is stuff I've been wanting from the show for years, and it hasn't really happened. I was hoping the Cutie Map would lead to a lot of exploration, and it lead to some... Just not nearly enough. It kinda feels like the show has gotten too comfortable with the status quo, and thus has stagnated. It feels like less and less is happening to truly keep the show fresh. So I'm mixed. Part of me feels dissatisfied with not meeting the potential that I think the show can meet, and part of me feels like after six, possibly seven, seasons, we've had a good run and it's wise to end it before the well dries up even more. A route they can take, is to make the movie feel like a finale, but they don't have to bookend themselves. They can leave things open enough in case they want to make more seasons, or a spinoff, or a gen 5. I don't think the My Little Pony franchise as a whole will end. It's too much of a cash cow for Hasbro. I think at most we'd go five years before a new MLP-related thing started up, if not only one or two. And considering a part of me enjoys the gen 1 and 3 shows, I'll most likely be onboard.
  10. Glad to hear I'll be able to see it even sooner! And glad that this timeslot is less competitive.
  11. It's a lot better with character progression, and especially better at redeeming antagonists, at least thus far. Though, the only antagonist to really get redeemed so far has been Peridot, so it may be a bit early to make the call. Still, I feel like the villain redemption on MLP is always rushed, and with Peridot, SU took its time better and felt more believable. I think SU's backgrounds are prettier, and the instrumental BGM tracks are more creative than MLP's. I think its characters are more emotional, more real. It has more charm and heart, and feels more epic in scope. Still though, that's not so much a knock against MLP as it is a testament to how well-crafted SU is. MLP raises the bar high and is pretty difficult to beat, so the fact that imo SU does, shows how good SU is. I still think MLP is a very good show in its own right. I absolutely love the Beach City residents, personally, and I think it was a wise decision to give them a lot of focus. It helps build a far richer world, and makes it all the more impactful whenever Beach City is threatened. I will agree the gems are more interesting and are where the show is at its best, but I would still consider the humans to be worthwhile and interesting. Anyway, onto MLP seasons: S1: 9/10 S2: 8/10 S3: 6/10 S4: 7/10 S5: 9/10 Overall: 8/10 EqG: 5/10 RR: 7/10 FG: 6/10 Overall: 6/10 It's too early to rank season 6 just yet, since my rankings are based on a good-to-bad episode ratio. Though I will say that season 6 is off to a good start.

Though one comment made me laugh like mad about this intro...

"Garnet: Fight for the right of being gay

Pearl: Fight for the one i'm gay for

      Amethyst: I live here."

      Just glorious.

  13. I'd love some sort of big family rodeo with the Apple family. Dunno if there would be a moral, I'd just love to have a big fun thing with them. Definitely have it be a song episode, give Big Mac and Braeburn some time to shine as well.
  14. If I was able to do something more productive, then I might say inappropriate. But I dropped out of college once I learned I had cancer (that and the stress of it plus the stress of classes got to be too much) and since my cancer was in my eyelid, it was only slightly-operable. They couldn't remove all of it, so I'm now on daily chemo pills. They leave me incredibly drained, in addition to weakening my immune system, so I can't work. So honestly, obsessing over my fandoms and having fun on forums is a great escape from the harsh realities of life. And I think it's pretty healthy. I'm talking to people and making friends. I can't think of a better way to spend my time.
  15. Domestic cat for me. I'm very catlike myself, and I get along with cats better than with humans anyway.
  16. Yeah Lars. I know he's a jerk, but I still want to know more about him. And honestly, I like him a lot as a character, because it helps add to the realism of the SU world to have someone who isn't that nice. I agree Mr. Smiley is overdue for love, though. This image makes me think Mr. Smiley could be Lars' father. It would make a lot of sense, especially since they share such a connection to the Big Donut. We haven't seen any redheaded ladies, so I can see them going the divorced route with Lars' parents, which would explain Lars' behavior somewhat.
  17. I've been feeling similarly. While not specifically Lars, I've been feeling like I really miss the humans. It seems like such a long time since we've gotten to know any of them better. I'm sure that Lars ep is coming somewhere down the line, though, because getting to know the humans is what makes it so impactful if something happens to Beach City. We know and care about the residents there, beyond just our gems. And don't get me wrong, I LOVE the gems, and do want to learn more about them! And what's going on now is good in its own way, because not only are the gems great characters, but we're all itching for answers to so many questions. So it is nice to delve into that. Still though, I'm a little homesick for Beach City and its citizens. We can at least take solace in the fact that, assuming the leaked episode titles are correct, it seems like we'll get some more focus on the human characters before "Last One Out of Beach City". In addition to the Lars episode, there's one titled "Kiki's Pizza Delivery Service" and another titled "Drop Beat Dad" that is speculated to be about Marty. Take that with a grain of salt though, as those episode titles may not be confirmed for all we know.
  18. I personally am a little scared by the trailer... scared but excited.
  19. I don't have much of an opinion on Starlight yet. She was a good villain, and I like her backstory. But as a good guy, well we haven't spent a ton of time getting to know her yet. She does seem to have a good amount of personality, I just feel like I need to see more before forming an opinion.
  20. Haha, I just saw the news about that! So excited!
  21. WOAH I hadn't seen this. Thank you so much for posting it!
  22. This! I've been hoping for Sea Ponies since season 3. I also want some exploration of Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash's families. We know about the rest of the mane 6, so, what about these two?
  23. This whole thing reeks of danger. Don't go. It's not worth risking your life over, and it's much safer to wait for meetups in safe areas.
  24. I'd love for Spike to have a good role. He was one of the best things about the first EqG, and he needs more love. Discord could add a lot of fun to the film, and a scene featuring Derpy would be a welcome treat. But the most important thing is the mane 6 all having strong roles, which should be a given.
