  1. This is a huge development on regards to G5. Looks like Hasbro has the early 2020s all set to go. Now it's a wait and see of whether or not this plan will come to fruition. Things can change between now and the release date of the movie.
  2. I'm not so sure. It's a possibility though if the historical scroll that Pinkie read says otherwise. If the Pie family and the Apple are related, it means Big Mac, Apple Bloom and Applejack has a much bigger family than originally known.
  3. It doesn't feel or seem dead to me. Just some parts of it are not used as much, however, it's far from dying or even dead. People are still posting here daily as far as I can see. I wonder if there will be any future events tbh, that would not be a bad idea to keep the site more active.
  4. If internet and TV were taken away from me, I wouldn't be able to know much of the outside world and be basically living under a rock. In terms of TV though, I have been watching less and less traditional TV in the past few years (cable TV) and more on watching online content. There's just nothing to watch on cable television anymore. It wasn't the behemoth it once was in the 2000s and early 2010s. I wonder how watching TV will be like a few years from today now that everybody is dropping cable and the old channels/national networks are starting to begin the major transition to full time streaming.
  5. Old school R&B jam from the 90s. Underrated classic that never gets old.
  6. The city I live in is often too disliked dor misunderstood. I used to hate it here because of the variety of problems in terms of government, quality of life, and social issues such as affordable housing, homelessness, bad subway service, and the fact that city was close to drowning under over-tourism (examples: Brooklyn Bridge walkway was closed by the police on New Year's Eve 2018 because of overcrowding. A similar situation happened on Roosevelt Island with a cherry blossom festival last year where so many people flocked to the island to see the blossoms to the point where the subway stop serving the island had trains by-passing the station because there was just too much people). But recently, the way New Yorkers here have handled the pandemic has made me decide to stay. People wanna make this city a better place, and that's a hopeful thing to think about.
  7. The art, the characters, and the huge work that goes into all of that stuff is what got me into the community, plus the conventions too.
  8. Read much of the details of the recent info released... Not bad to say the least. It's a good start that they've announced new characters for the next gen. It's best not to use the Mane Six, they're basically the face of G4 at this point in time. Now it's a wait and see sort of thing with the film and whether or not it does well next year.

  10. Expansive universe, detailed history, relatable characters that connected with everybody (Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Han Solo and Princess Leia are excellent examples of this), the classical soundtrack that makes up the musical soul of the franchise, references to real world events, and a trilogy that has influenced a lot of people across the world and culturally as well, especially geek/nerd culture. It was also an underdog series too, like Star Trek. When the first film was being made, Lucas had to go through the Hollywood machine to get his film released prior to production starting. Before he went to 20th Century Fox, every major movie studio in the industry said no to the idea. When production did start and progressed, they experienced many problems, technically and internally. On top of that, by the time a trailer was released in 1976 (the film was done by then), everybody thought it was gonna be a failure. The following year was a completely different story, and as the old saying goes, the rest is history. Star Trek was a show that was made during a time of major changes in the world when it first aired in the 1960s. Tackling of social issues, a diverse cast, the things that make us human and the exploration of space (a Space Shuttle was named after one of the spaceships in the series via a letter writing to the president by fans) is why it's so popular. Many celebrities and even politicians are fans of the series. Their fandom also set up the things that are the standard in nerdom today; conventions, meet and greets, artist alleys, panels, etc.
  11. Yeah, I do like the comics more. The FiM comic series is actually the main reason why I started comic book collecting, and I have not regretted that decision. It's made me seek out more interests in other franchises (Sonic, TMNT IDW, Usagi Yojimbo) and it has also got me into a few indie comics as well.
  12. The Routes Not Taken: A Trip Through New York City's Unbuilt Subway System.
  13. SWAT Kats and many of the Hanna-Barbera shows that used to receive heavy rotation back in the 2000s. I'm surprised they're barley even mentioned anymore when back in the 80s and 90s, their characters were everywhere.
  14. General news and to share any informational content about trains, comic books or current events. Sometimes, things can get too negative on that site to the point where you have to end up taking a break from it for a bit or just avoid it completely.
  15. Class 9 from where I live. Every night, you can see the surrounding neighborhoods illuminate the clouds above if it's a grey night on the forecast. It's so bright here, the city and the surrounding areas can be seen from space.
  16. Female Cloud Chaser. She maintained a few cameo appearances in the earlier seasons, including Slice of Life. Could have gotten a lot more character development.
  17. Jet the Hawk, leader of the Babylon Rouges and an underrated characters of the Sonic series.
  18. The Nintendo games are popular is because alot of their lineup has some really good franchises that others have mentioned (i.e. Zelda, Kirby, Star Fox), plus it has two of the most well known series in the world that have made a major impact on pop culture, the Super Mario Bros. and Pokemon. It should be important to note that all of the series were introduced and made during the years Nintendo was the biggest video game company in the world (1980s and 1990s); the video game industry suffered a crash back in 1983 that nearly killed it off. Nintendo stepped in with the NES (which sold very well; the console helped gain the public's attention into video games as a respectful medium and as a form of entertainment) along with the aforementioned titles that effectively saved the industry, thus garnering the cultural status it still maintains to this day, and why many people still play Nintendo games. You can also thank Satoru Iwata (God rest his soul) as well. Satoru invested a lot into money into stuff like the DS and Wii (along with the Direct videos later on and Reggie Fils-Aime) that kept people interested in their games.
  19. Mike Pondsmith, the creator of the RPG game Cyberpunk, is a brony. He said in a thread on Reddit that he came across Fallout Equestria while at a con years ago, and since then he has a Twilight Sparkle figure as a Space Marine and a Rainbow Dash figure as a Transformer.
  20. No... just no. Spongebob Squarepants as a series should have ended after the movie in 2004 (that was what Hillenburg planned to do). But no, the money was too hard to shy away from for Nickleodeon, they didn't give other shows a chance because of this choice, and now it just isn't good anymore.
  21. Great research work here. I never really thought about the land area the Apple family owned until I read the earlier issues of the comics that had Granny Smith stated that they gave away a parcel of land to the city government for them to build a playground when a huge monster was causing earthquakes in the area. It made me think that the Apple family owned alot more land back in the day before the events of FiM and sold off some of it as time passed.
  22. I see Luster Dawn as a character with a fair amount of potential. I don't see her as reaching Twilight's level high up in the Equestrian government, but I do see Luster learning alot more about friendship under Twilight's guidance. We could see her going off on adventures just like Twilight did many years ago.
  23. The Paul Brothers have been nothing but trouble since they have been on YouTube, I can remember they made alot of antics that made news headlines. They also worked for Disney for a brief time before getting the boot due to their bad behavior. Not surprised to see that this has happened honestly. That was his brother Logan. I remember being in high school when that happened, I was so angry inside. All of the internet was so pissed at him for what he did.
