Which school rules do you hate the most

Hmm...probably the rule where visitors aren't allowed to come to lunch. Like damn maybe one day I wanna eat with my sister. She's pretty tight with my friends and she'd bring me food.

BUT NAAAAAH.

Edit: also dress code. That crap makes me mad. Like I live in Texas, it gets hot. I would kill to be able to wear shorts when it's like 90 degrees outside. Skirts? NAH. Shorts that go down to my knees? NAH. A dress? NAH. I'm not a skirt girl and I'm not a dress girl.

Thankfully my school is pretty chill about electronics. I play my ds in Aquatic Science and Culinary. :P

insubordination

The amount of times Ive gotten in trouble for this....

Dont wanna pick up that piece of trash that isnt yours? Written up for insubordination.....

Dont wanna do work because your having a bad day? Written up for insubordination..

Not really a rule. But group punishment really makes me mad. Specially when they do the whole "Class is in trouble till someone tells the truth" and you youself have no idea who did it.

Also for the whole religion praying in schools. Quite a few public schools in the south have choosen to completely ignore the rule and will even punish children for not praying.

Frankly, I'm turned on a fair amount just from reading the above quote. What colour was it?

lmfao

______________

Also, I hate the "hands off" rule. I'm not even allowed to give my friend a hug according to some teachers. >.>

I hated when a few students misbehaving meant entire class gets punished.

Saying the Pledge of Allegiance. Seriously, you are speaking to a flag which is a piece of fabric on a stick that is revered only because it represents your country. And no, in America there is not "liberty and justice for all". Did you know same-sex marriage is still illegal in 13 states? And the only legitimate reason is because of bigoted Christian a**holes. There are other ridiculous things like this, I could go on and on, but I am lazy and don't want to type for long so that is all for now.

Is it not natural to be loyal to your country? The USA is indeed flawed country, but so is many. And though USA may have done many wrongs, it has also done many rights and achievements that would bring the people pride (unless you're not American and the American flag to you is only fabric).

@Pokekid543 (I'd quote you but it's not working? x.x): I have the same problem here, about us not being allowed to wear stuff because of boys. Most teachers won't care if they see a bra strap specifically, but with stuff above the knee, you're gonna get sent home as soon as they see it. The reason we can't have skirts- or anything- above the knees at school is because it will "distract the boys". /cough/ WHAT THE HECK MAYBE YOU SHOULD DEVOTE YOUR TIME MAKING SEXIST RULES INTO TELLING THE BOYS AT THIS SCHOOL THAT HEY DON'T BE FREAKING CREEPS OK GIRLS SHOULD GET TO WEAR WHATEVER THEY WANT THIS IS MURICA WHEN THE BALD EAGLES OF JUSTICE AND FREEDOM SWOOP INTO YOUR HOUSE AND KILL YOU IN YOUR SLEEP DON'T COME TO ME ACTUALLY YOU WON'T BECAUSE YOU'LL BE TOO BUSY EXPLAINING TO THE EAGLE LORDS OF THE U.S. WHY YOU WERE LIMITING FREEDOM /cough/ scuse me

I don't really have a desire to wear anything above the knee. The rule itself is kay. But the reasoning behind it makes me want to slap the people.

Also in America we worship eagles 100% true no lies here :pout: -_-

Well, damn, where do I begin...

1. The Dress Code

In my school, you have to wear uniforms, also no leggings, no skirts that are above the knee (this one is frequently broken and nobody does anything about it), no hats (i break this rule and only one teacher has called me out for it so i just don't wear a hat around her), and several other things like: DURR YOU MUST WEAR OUR SCHOOL COLORS AND NOTHING ELSE CAUSE U R A TRU SPATRAN

2. Drawing

My teachers hate when I draw, they've got no reason. I never draw while they're teaching, I draw after they're teaching, but I've gotten a total of 4 drawings I've worked hard on taken from me by my English Teacher.

3. No Phones

If any teacher sees you even with a phone for a split second, they'll whip it out of your hands and steal it for 3 days until you can get it back. I've also heard that they will look through your phone to make sure you aren't doing anything "inappropriate." Like damn, way to invade some people's privacy.

4. The Pledge Of Allegiance

Now, this one doesn't bother me, but it may for others since their school may not have as much freedom. Actually, despite that my school is in the South, they haven't been a bitch to anyone about their religion and their sexuality.

2. I've never hated any of my teachers, but if I had your teacher we probably won't get along well. No one touches my drawings without permission; that's something I am sensitive about (past experiences and fear of drawings being damaged).

3. I actually understand this because I understand that it's not uncommon for certain students to be distracted during class by looking at their phones... but understand to an extent. The sight of a phone for such a brief period of time shouldn't warrant it to be taken away. Also, I agree, the teacher has no legitimate reason to look through the students' phones (same would be said for parents in my opinion). Fine, take phone away as punishment for not focusing, but invading privacy won't really accomplish anything. I hope people had sense to have password on phone.

I never liked the whole no hats to school rule. What's the problem with wearing hats to school anyways?

When I was in middle school, it was a rule that you had to have your shirt tucked in. I thought that was a stupid rule.

My high school doesn't do this, but my middle school didn't allow hats. Even baseball caps because they "can hide someone's identity." I mean, I'm all for safety and everything, but that's just ridiculous. It's actually not even that easy to hide your face with a hat unless you take it off. So, I always thought that was pretty strange. It's not something I have to go through anymore though. Yay High School. :P

Surely a pledge that you chose to recite would carry much more weight than one you were forced to recite? Giving someone no choice but to say something renders their words meaningless.

The profanity rule. I'm an 18 year old adult in 12th grade, let me say whatever the fuck I want when I'm talking to my friends. I get not spurting it out in class when the teacher is trying to teach, but getting in trouble for it when I'm just goofing around with some friends is ridiculous.

I know it can offend people, but part of life is not allowing what other people say or do to get to you too much. Might as well start learning that in high school.

Not necessary a school rule, but...

I go to a faith school - you have to study Religious Studies at GCSE - other schools do not necessarily.

Considering the school did crap in R.S exams last year, and most of the student base are either atheist or non-christian, it honestly makes no sense to spend two years studying Mark's Gospel and Christian Ethics.

not really a rule, but in one of my classes if we say can I (insert whatever you want here) instead of may I (whatever you want here) they will say no if you ask anything for the rest of the class.

The no hats, because seriously you have to be not smart to hide something under it and not knowing that it is visible.

I had to tolerate this rule during all my elementary and High School period

But, at least in my College I can now wear hats and hoods no problem!

Firstly, what is the deal with you kids and your phones? I'm a young person and I honestly believe you don't need phones in school. It's an unnecessary distraction. I mean, WHO are you people talking to 24/7? I get bored with text conversations after twenty minutes. Besides, anyone under the age of fourteen doesn't need a mobile anyway.

Anyway, when I was in high school I always thought it was stupid that we got marked late and punished if we were late for lunch. And once you were in the cafeteria it was hella difficult to get out, even if you had to go to the bathroom. And then, you needed to go get a signed pass from the lunch monitor. Oh, and half the bathrooms were locked anyway! But other things? Want to go study in the library? Nope. Go out in the courtyard? Also a negative. I went to school in the middle of the country  with cornfields and farms on all sides and they didn't trust ANYONE. They have to keep tabs on all students at all times and it's gotten worse. I know because my brother is in his last year at that school.

Oh, and in middle school we weren't allowed to wear sandals or flip flops in the summer. Why? Dunno. But it ticked me off because I hated shoes and socks (I still do) and having to wear sneakers every day did not amuse 12-year-old me.

You can't listen to music.... you can't listen to music?! Music is very helpful. Music doesn't help you concentrate, it doesn't help you study, all these nonsense... teachers are making up false facts. Ridiculous. I'm 99.9% sure that this rule exists in Canterlot High too.

I'm confused, what are you trying to say? Are you talking about young people who use phones?

Oh yeah, there's another rule which really pisses me off some days (seeing as I get ill fairly often)

No going to the bathroom during lessons or at the end of break.

Even if you are ill.

Like - visibly being sick.

WTF.

When I was in school, all the rules made sense to me.

There was one thing that people disliked, and that was the Passport for the prom. Each year, in June, a prom is organized for final year students. The passport was set up to make sure that only deserving students could go. The goal was to get 10 stamps and each teacher could give a maximum of 2.

In the end, I lost the passport and could not go to the prom even though I got the required stamps. :(
