This is how I see it will progress

:

Starlight stays in Ponyville for a while (maybe a few episodes)

She learns how to make friends and keep them..

Reminded of her village and how she left it..

She's afraid of confrontation when she returns there..

But she does to fix her mistakes.. and they forgive her..

Then she says farewell to Twilight because she belongs in her village..

She's ready to start anew and make real friends in the place she calls home..

 

and that's pretty much it..

To me, the ending was more like they were sending Glimmer off to form her own group of friends. The equality villagers were quite forgiving after all.

Sunset Shimmer should be there... Not Starlight Skywalker. Or if not, keep it the Mane 6! I mean the show is just focusing too much on Twilight now. Season 3, 4 and 5 all dedicated to her getting the attention and dealing with a problem. I don't get how we're supposed to like Glimmer. She was going to lead the destruction over her own kind, over a childhood jealousy. More powerful than Twilight Sparkle? Great, just great. I guess it's not about who these people are as characters that defines their strength, it's like the prequel trilogy's force concept, you're just born with it I guess. I am so happy Equestria has a whiny and nefarious mare leading their future. Sunset Shimmer bawling her eyes out and knowing the error of her ways, was more realistic, than Glimmer's casual and soulless change of heart. 

 

Also... Poor Rainbow Dash... It's like the writers had fun torturing her in this episode 

TS is the main character though.

That would be really interesting to see. I want it mainly because I want the balance restored of having 2 Unicorns, 2 Earth Ponies and 2 Pegasi. That along with 1 Alicorn seems perfect. I guess Sunset Shimmer has been officially confirmed non-canon though and Starlight is the new Sunset. That's too bad. I always wanted her to be the seventh member and for her to get the Element of Forgiveness. But hey Starlight Glimmer works too.

After the wedding she should have never came back again.

 

The Crystal Empire should have been about Twilight, Celestia and Luna stopping King Sombra.

 

Games Ponies Play could have been about Luna meeting Mrs Harshwinny.

 

Three's a Crowd should have been about Twilight sharing some time with her ex mentor Celestia and then Discord happened.

Cadance isnt that bad thought she doesn't appear much Celestia definitely needs more roles shes pretty much a background character.

I don't get why everypony keeps on saying that it's too late to add another main character, tons of other shows do it all the time. Personally, I love the "Mane 7" idea, it keeps things fresh and it says "buck you" to the status quo, which is always nice. I think it would be pointless if they made a big deal about her redemption just to make her only show up in 2-3 episodes in Season 6. I'd would love to see her in most episodes, or even just half of them next season.

I think it would be pretty cool to see the group as the Mane 7. Starlight might be a reoccurring character throughout season 6, but it would still be nice to see her in most of the episodes that she will appear in. If Starlight joins Twilight and the others and becomes the Mane 7, it would be interesting to see how her character will be written out and her interaction with the rest of the group will turn out as well.

Idk. I was still unsatisfied with her redemption, and  it does indeed look like that 2 second montage at the end of the finale will be the only redemption process we get. Since she's jumping right in with the main cast as if nothing happened. I really wanted more time to her forgiveness arc like sunset in RR, but nope.

Eh, I don't think that would be a great idea. I don't really like it when new main characters are introduced late on in the series, it just feels tacked on. Plus there's already 6 main characters already, I think that's just plenty.

In addition to the just 6 elements of harmony, theres also how

she didn't get to see Cadance n Shining's baby in the season 6 sneak peak with the others

. If anything her being that close to them that soon would be the sign of another devious plot. Also it could be foreshadowing or comparison by TreeHugger needing to 'clear her chakras' before making good with Discord. It could be the mane 6 are so friendly they forgive someone they know now means well that quickly, or it could be the foreshadow of they won't interact with her much like Tree doesn't interact with Disc. Random comparison to make but sometimes fiction does use foreshadowing as such or contrasting characters/decisions.
