No Larson for Season 6

Since he said "Who knows?" in this tweet, he would be coming back. This wasn't the first time that's happened by the way.

He's an on and off writer for me to be honest. I HATED Sonic Rainboom, but I loved other episodes he wrote. Secret of My Excess wasn't his fault Rarity was seen as horrible, so I don't blame him. He defended her actually. (Still mad at the story board artists for that)  He also wrote Ponyville Confidential, which I liked. He was also one of the writers for Rarity Investigates, which I obviously love. Then other episodes were meh, or good, or bad. I don't look forward to season 6, but it's not because he left. In my opinion, he's not the worst. A lot of popular and well loved episodes bore me, so my opinion doesn't matter.

LArson also gone for season 6? Well I started with high hopes and lot of anticipation for season 6 but now this combined with the season 6 trailer I am starting to get really worried. I just found this show, I just joined the community and now its going to end? Damn I am always late and I really don't want to see this show go bad now.

That’s a big fear of mine. Feels like I joined the fandom at its peek during season 5, and I really don't want to see it slip away so quickly.

 

This doesn't seal the fate of MLP (at least I hope not), but Larson leaving the staff feels really abnormal. He is one of my favorite writers for the show.

 

All good things must come to an end though, right?

I would say that I'm disappointed to hear this news. However I have a lot of faith in the other very competent writers that work on the show. But Larson does write some of the better episodes.

Well, this is unfortunate news. MA Larson was one of my favorites; but at least we'll have *ahem* Josh Haber *ahem*. 

 

To be quite honest, I am worried. It is not my intention to be pessimistic, but that seems to be a fairly natural state of mind for me, so I apologize if I come off as a grouch.

 

Anyway, I'm upset that I will not have any writers to make fun of but still really like. MA Larson's episodes were some of the best on the show, in my opinion, and I especially loved Amending Fences. At least he might come back; but I have a feeling that he won't, because it seems like this could be the last season.

well this sucks... I was already knew S6 was gonna suck due to Glimmer being in and not Sunset.. I mean Glimmer was just half flanked into the show for no reason.. but enough off topic...

 

Hope the man comes back.. we need good writers for S6 or it will be worse then S3.

Chances for a Celestia Episode are better with his leave and he cannot fail at writing Fluttershy any longer.

 

Now let McCarthy surprisingly quit the show and Celestia might actually survive the movie in 2017

Well he will be missed. He wrote some great episodes like Amending Fences and Magic Duel. I even met him at a con once and-

Yes indeed. It's too bad and you can only dream that she finds a better job somewhere, another writer takes over and rewrites the obvious deep hits for the movie to come.

I'm not worried yet. I liked all episodes, so they really have to crash hard to make me even dislike an episode ... like "deeper-then-hell-and-beyond"-down. People come and go.

 

And I still believe of at least a 7th season, I mean, even with summer break and EQG4, there still would be almost one year before the movie.

Sure, MLP will live on, but G4 won't run forever and I really don't think it should. The movie is a great opportunity to tie up all remaining stories and send FiM out with a bang before it deteriorates into a disjointed mess (which some people would say it already has, though I don't share that opinion). Yeah, I'll be a weeping wreck like the pussy I am when it ends, but better to end strong and make way for new things than to outlive your welcome. Who knows, maybe G5 will be just as awesome as G4 is.
