I want a new villain, not one from previous generations either. Preferably something not entirely a pony either, as Starlight has now done that idea. Honestly, what might would be even better is a slice of life premiere, with no villain.

However, it's all very unlikely. It will likely involve Chrysalis.

I dunno. Maybe something with Alicorn lore, perhaps also foreshadowing the events of the season finale and/or the (new) villain that will in some way have something to do with Queen Chrysalis (as part of her revenge; to me she looked like she went off to get an ally's help to get revenge on Starlight but I could be wrong).

...Yeah, I've got nothing in particular, at least not plot-wise. I basically don't care much as long as the plot doesn't turn out badly done.

Call one of the Carmen Sandiego actresses like Janine LaManna. Create a master theif pony version of Carmen Sandiego who steals something really valuable in historic terms and leaves clues to the next location. Have Twilight Sparkle and co go on a wild chase all over Equestria.

   Perhaps with Queen Chrysalis freeing Tirek from Tartarus, where she offers him an opportunity to join forces, to get revenge on Princess Twilight Sparkle, for an ultimate showdown. Tirek decides to join Chrysalis, but he wants more power, so he finds a way to summon King Sombra, to create an alliance of the biggest villains Equestria has ever known. Their goal is conquest of Equestria, so they would have to battle Twilight and the mane seven, knowing that this axis possess a threat to Equestria, they forge their own alliance, of the best ponies Equestria has to offer, with Princess Celestia and Luna, the cutie mark crusaders, Spike, Discord, Princess Cadence and Shining Armour, the Wonderbolts, and maybe Zecora. After the first skirmish, the mane seven has to prepare Equestria for battle, to recruit new ponies and non ponies, muster the Royal Equestrian Armed Forces, in an ultimate test of friendship and magic, as the ponies have to adapt to wartime conditions, as this grave threat causes an atmosphere of fear and suspense, the premiere can have a set up like Avatar the Last Airbender or the Legend of Korra, as a group of friends have face off against this axis, it's ambitious, but I feel that season seven could be epic, but still have the slice of life, that give MLP it's identity.

For once, I would like the villain, be it a returning villain or a new one, to beat the Mane 6(Especially with Starlight included) at the end.  Give them a motivation to train for the rematch of a life time.

Chrysalis, while an obvious choice, wouldn't be the best choice since we already just saw her in the season six finale, and bringing her back so soon would only lessen her presence as a villain. It's never a good idea to rely on the same villains all the time as you risk making them stale and less effective. No, I think someone new is needed to fill the void.

What I'd like to see is an arc villain---a villain who will recur throughout the season and most of the plots or subplots of the season will be driven by the villain.  Or a group of villains with a friendship dynamic of their own?

 

I'd like to see Hydia, Reeka, and Draggle (three human-like witches) from G-1 make a comeback to do this; especially if there's the drama of one of them starting to like the ponies and feeling torn between them and her family...

Pony Civil war....  factions of unicorns start a war to take over equestria.... Celestia and Luna are captured,so the mane 6 spend season 7 trying to end the war..... Lots of saving private ryan, and American Sniper referances.

After having the other 5 sidelined into cameos in the last *3* two parters, I actually wouldn't mind a SOL episode if only for the fact that we might FINALLY get the other 5 featuring heavily in a premier again :/

Plus, with the movie coming up, I could deal with them putting the big adventure off till then. That being said, I REALLY want some minor adventure episodes immediately after it like Power ponies or Do princesses dream of magical sheep.

A new villain! Preferably a stallion. Someone that has a specific type of magic that is pretty much unknown to Equestria and he challenges Starlight (assuming Starlight is the focus). This could make for an interesting battle, a battle that I want Starlight to lose, because I want her to use her friendship lessons as her main weapon, meaning her friends help and they conquer evil. IT is fairly classic but to have an awesome stallion villain, that would definitely mix it up.

 Maybe a zebra character? Like Zecora.

Or heck even if FIM doesn't end with the movie, this has been the type of episode(s) I would like to see be used to wrap up the series.

I feel that focusing on character's dreams and the future would work more as a way to end a season rather than begin it.

Maybe it could even be like the season one finale with The Best Night Ever, where we get a mini arc that would lead to the finale where it could be wrapped up nicely or something like that.

I would be fine with a slice of life premiere, as long as I find it to be memorable and not underwhelming.

Maybe even just one 22 episode instead of a two parter could help.

Suddenly, I want to see the Crystal Train(Or a special version of the Crystal Train) possess the ability to transform into a Jetship of some sort.(Maybe implement some sort of Crystal Matrix to allow the thrusters and the wings to appear when the sidecars link up next to the main car.)
