What would you do if the brony fandom dies?

If mlp/fandom was completely dead for like 5 years after it stops production I would probably comeback to the fandom and try to get the fandom heartbeat again if that's even possible

this is gonna be a sad event when it happens. :(

As much as I hate to think about it, one day this fandom is doomed to collapse. All we can really do is personally hold on to our love.

I know that I for one am going to download every episode in the highest quality possible, and continuously convert it as media formats change in an attempt to preserve the show for years to come. But beyond that, once this fandom collapses, I guess I just... go back to being an active furry, and always have that little hole in my heart the show filled up.

Everyone has good inside them, if you look hard enough

You're a furry? That's cool!

As for me, I don't know what I'll do, but I'll think of something.

A Dragon as big as his love for Disney and has his head in the clouds literally and figuratively

Nothing, because I don't think the fandom will die. Oh, Die down? Sure, yeah. If the show ends most people will leave and move on with their life, but as with everything there's probably going to be a small minority of really darn loyal fans sticking around. This show and the fandom has had a big impact on some people's lives, some of them won't want to let go of that and will do everything within their power to keep it going.

The fandom won't collapse and the fandom won't die. I have been around obscure fandoms long enough to know that communities perpetuate in the absence of new material.

It will eventually reach the point where it will contract, and yes some people will move on, cons will shut down, sites will shut down, but the remaining active fans will coalesce around one or two sites. This is natural.

The unknown variable here is what Hasbro does with the franchise after it's current iteration. Also how will the the fans that grew up with G4 respond when nostalgia hits and they have their own kids? My own kids are not a good case study since their dad is an adult fan, but they started watching the show when they were in the target demographic, and now they are knocking on the door of adulthood.

I'm sure there are some like them that would give G5 a boost.

Absolutley nothing. Listen mlp is unique in that it managed too get a bunch of adults and teeangers excited about a cartoon show for little girls that's designed too sell toys. But the show has been around for seven years. A lot of people where in their late teens or early twenties at the start. Now their in their mid twenties or thirties. And my point is that even if Friendship Is Magic went on forever interest in the show would still dwindle. For some people at a certain point watching a tv show for little girls, when their in their thirties or older, just becomes tooo ridiculous, or they just loose interest.

I'll probably stick around. I am still in a fandom that really is not that active and hasn't been too active for the past 11-ish years, so it is a safe bet I'll still be here.

Wait what fandom is that?

The fandom will probably stick with me for life or at least until I find another substitute that I like better so I ain't too worried, plus you'll always have some who'll still like it. We don't have collectors in this world for nothing, I'm not one personally but these collectors hold onto things from way back when, and when they resurface they're pure gold nostalgia. And I honestly don't believe this is something that will just fade away like the 70s, you'll always find people who watched it or who just discovered it, there are new people born everyday and new people discovering things everyday, so I have high hopes the fandom won't just die out of existence.

I also heavily agree with:

@RareBase, @Kagami-sama and @Jeric.

Presumably a few decades after the Monty Python, Red Dwarf etc fandoms die...

The Sonic fandom still exists for example. Ponies will take a long time to "die". Also it's a Hasbro show. There will be a next generation eventually. Just ask Transformers fans how many iterations of the same thing can exist.

As for the brony fandom. Who knows, fans of the fandom will have less content in general. The crazy died down but it really won't go away for a long long time. (internet time)

I wouldn't be as active in the fandom as I am right now but I wouldn't completely leave it. I'd probably end up becoming one of those fans who keeps the memories of what MLP stands for alive through small means here and there.

Its not going to die, plenty of other shows still have fandoms after their extinction. Then again they still have marketing and other products, but this is Hasbros and I doubt they would give up on it.

If it dies like, no fandom activity on youtube or forums for a month or more, then Idk I think I will just keep on doing whatever it is I do. I would get more bored with the internet cuz forums n videos at a reduced rate. But hopefully something will try and fill the void the show had, and it'd prolly succeed, like a new series or fandom I mean, because um. Its like the statement 'theres a mettaton shaped hole in my mettaton shaped heart' from undertale. All we need is something similar enough to ponies that its worth adapting for. And that'd be a whole marketing avenue so people could jump on it. Like if Microsoft just went out of business sony or mac would step it up to steal their fan base.

All things that interact with the world exert a force. All things that exert a force have an opposite and equal force. Ergo, nothing immaterial exists [because where would the opposite force be without material as a medium?]. Ergo god doesn't exist immaterially. Also if the universe were infinite itd take infinite time for a god to make it. If it were finite it'd be subject to entropy. Which means an eternal god can't exist.

Every fandom dies For example Star Trek died for a bit and there where a few Trekkie left but it got rebooted with the new movie that's what I think what would happen with this fandom it would die but then G5 comes up and build the fandom again if they keep G5 some what similar to the style of G4

this is just my thoughts and opinions though

Heya @DatBronyGuy!

Seeing how the content of your topic deals with the MLP Fandom and its content, I will go ahead and move it to Sugarcube Corner, where it will get the most attention. Thank you!
