It's aight. Not really the vibe I'm feelin' most of the time though so it's rare I'll listen to, but when I'm feeling it, I'm feeling it good

I looked up the artist mentioned above and I don't care for it. Not really intending to come be a hater or anything, but you did ask for opinions.

Based off of that one artist, it sounds like 80s music but taken up another notch. I already am not a big fan of 80s synths, drum machines, etc. Synths can work, I'll admit, but IMO not like that.

Recently I've discovered that it's a perfect music genre to listen to while working, at least for me. So, now my playlist is 1/4 synthwave.

It depends on the source. I want to make sure it is not made by people supporting certain political parties. So basically I stay away from it until the 80's hype dies down, I guess. Maybe I can enjoy it in a distant future.

A lot of it sounds the same to me tbh. I will say though, I love some '80s pop inspired synthwave.

Is this a thing? I've never heard of any concerning political affiliations from synthwave artists.

I don't understand anything of this? it's music to me, nothing else.

I like some of the newly made retro stuff, I have played with nearly every harware synth from the 80s era back in the days, (worked in that business) so it's fun and cool to hear yonger people doing something nice on that take. The musical style is very straight forward and it's more about the production skills to get the right touch and feel of the 80s sound. And this is where its "win" or "fail" to me.

But like always, music is art, and art is free to do the way everyone likes.

Btw here is one I made just for fun and @Splashee I promise it's not political, it's Celesital *lol*

It's meant to sound "cheap" and demo like, not that big spacy high cost synth sound, so yeah, here it is:

"win" or "fail" is your decision friends, it's art <3

Maybe this tread isn't meant to be a publishing tread about your own music?

But what the heck, it's Synthwave so here ya go!

Here is another one I made with softsynths only, completely different sound image. ( My OC Karl Bertos ) have too many OCs ^_^

Both of songs were cool, pretty catchy. Not sure if the latter was such synthwaveish but it reminded me about FEZ-soundtrack. :)

Sorry for the necro of the thread. Wanted to make sure there were no dedicated Synthwave thread before I posted in here.

This is definitely my favourite genre. So much talent and amazing voices.

Currently listening to a lot of Michael Oakley, Timecop1983, Primo, The Midnight and Carpenter Brut.

To me, Synthwave is a good, soothing background for things like writing and playing dystopian video games to.

Plus, being an actual child in the 80's, this sounds a lot like what it used to be... and I dig that vibe, wholeheartedly.

It's radical, gnarly AND bodacious.  *chuckle*   And I'm old; thank you, good night.

Synthwave is amazing and a gift to music. ♡ My favorite acts are Kristine, The Midnight, Magic Dance, Color Theory and W O L F C L U B! The entire vaporwave boom and synthwave by association has created some of my favorite music of all time.

Kristine is the queen of synthwave~ this song will always make me feel so many things no matter how many times I hear it.
