music Do you listen to albums or pick specific songs?

So do you listen to albums or your own playlist created from random songs you like?

I remember my eng teacher said that they usually listen to albums (at least back in her school days) which surprised me. Now I'm curious how do you listen to music!

As for me, I just add any song I found interesting to my playlist and listen to it later. I don't like albums since I usually like only 1-2 songs from them even from my favorite bands

I pick specific songs if it's from a band I don't know, and if I like the band a lot, I'll look into other songs from the same album.

If a new album from a band I already know gets released, I'll add the whole album to my playlist immediately.

If it's a band I really love I usually listen to whole albums, maybe minus a song or two that I don't really like (MCR, PTV, and Princewhateverer come to mind. I like the vast majority of their songs, so I usually end up listening to whole albums). If not, then I just pick songs that I like. There are quite a few bands or artist who only have one song I like.

If I'm in the mood for a specific sound then I'll often listen to multiple songs by the same artist followed up with similar ones, but I really only listen to random stuff on a whim. The only album I'll play through entirely is The King is Dead by the Decemberists.

For me, I prefer at least one song (or more) per album individually. Sometimes I choose to listen to a full album (depending on my mood), like Hybrid Theory from Linkin Park or Californication from Red Hot Chili Peppers but I guess that's just my way of getting around to the good stuff.

Call me old fashioned, but I love listening to an entire album from start to finish. My favorite artists are ones whose music best in the context of a full album, though I still have a pretty extensive playlist of favorites that I do listen to from time to time. Kind of like a really long mixtape.

When I discovered Euro style heavy metal I didn't know music could be so amazing. So I can listen to entire albums. Before, I used to hear songs on the radio (classic rock, alternative) and get a CD from that band. But that 1 song would be ok and the rest usually sucked.

I listen to my mashup playlist these days cos thats all I can listen to (mobile spotify sucks) but I used to love listening to full albums! My favorites to revisit were The Swinging Star by Dreams Come True, Kristines self titled album and Kid A by Radiohead

I do some research and if i find a music project, singer or band that sounds interesting to me, i listen to a few specific songs to see if i like it. If i like it i buy and listen to full albums. However i also love to create a playlist afterwards with specific songs from different artists.

Depends on my mood, what I am doing etc. Sometimes I just play some song, but I also listen to an entire tape or CD/record from beginning to end. I rarely (but I still do it) create custom tapes, usually just record complete albums (maybe skipping or adding a couple of songs to match the length of the tape).

My playlists consist of both individual songs and entire albums (which get their own sub-lists). I probably listen to the individual stuff the most often though unless I have time to devote to a whole album, in which case I love to immerse myself in some of my old favorites from start to finish.

For example I have a special album with Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 original music from Masato Nakamura's demo tapes.

And another is the OST for Terminator 2 Judgment Day.

So music on CD, because that used to be the highlight quality, and maybe still is
