I'm not particularly a fan of either, nor do I really consider myself enough of a fan of the show to warrant a label. However, I will always prefer pegasister over brony, because 'brony' is an obviously masculine term to me and always will be.

I'm not a girl, but I'd like to comment on this. I wont vote on the poll, since I'm not a girl though. :P

I don't think it really matters. All of us are just fans of the show!

Whatever you want to call yourself, as long as you consider yourself a part of the community, you're a (insert preferred term here) to me.

I prefer the term brony as all encompassing.

edit for spelling, and my cursed doubling of the wrong letters in words..

I never understood the reasoning behind the term "Pegasister". We're all fans of the same show, and we all enjoy it for the same reasons, why should we be split into two groups just because some of us are girls and some of us are guys? I believe brony is a unisex term, much like "dude", "friend", or you know..."human"?

Can you imagine if they used sishoof instead of brohoof?

I've always been a fan of 'hoof bump' -- it is canon after all!

Personally, I just consider it 'props' because that's what we always said in school -- don't think I knew a specific name for it until fairly recently.

Huh, that's interesting...  I just realized that the relation between the meaning of the terms brony and pegasister is very similar to the relation between the terms man and woman.  The term 'man' can often refer to both male and female (ie. the dawn of man), while woman can only refer to female.  The same seems to be true of brony and pegasister, with brony referring to both male and female while pegasister is exclusively female.  I find it an interesting coincidence...

They can be called what they want to be called. That's their freedom of choice. However, that poor excuse an exploration of Howard Stern had made most of the people think that the term "bronies" is like a men only sort of group.

Not forcing the female bronies, but the term pegasister may make those others think different

OMFG GIRLS CAN'T BE CALLED BRONIES, BRONIES IS FOR BOYS!!!

Nah, i'm just shitting on your face. They can be called anything they want :) although I feel it might make more sense to call them bronies as we are all equal and all love ponies ^_^

50% of the time I use Brony, and 50% of the time I use Pegasister. Honestly, I really have no preference whatsoever on what I'd like to be called (as well as what girls would like to be called). Both terms do mean "MLP fans", and most people either prefer one of the terms or both. I personally like both. However, I've started using the term "female brony" just so I can identify myself as a female quicker than Pegasister, since it's a term people use less nowadays.

So yeah, call me brony...call me pegasister...call me female brony, I won't bite at all.

Brony. I've always liked it more than "Pegasister". Besides, I dislike the fact that we try to "split" the fandom depending on one's gender. We're all big, big, biiiiiiig (alright, huge fits better) family, and I can't see how it would be interesting to pinpoint if you're a male or a female (oh, pardon me, mare or stallion ^-^').

To be honest I really don't care either way. Since they are both MLP related anyways.

BTW did anyone see that PMV with Delancicorn singing in it about bronies?

I call myself a brony because I'm a guy so it would be rather strange if i would call myself a pegasister hahaha, but I like both of them. I think "pegasister" sounds cute and should be used more often. Ofcourse "brony" is generally used for both genders and there are people out there that are completely against the word "pegasister" for some reason but I don't mind it what so evah :P

I refer to myself as a Pegasister, personally, because I generally like things that sound more feminine, I guess. Still, I think whatever you want to be called is fine. ^_^
I don't really think the different terms separate us, but like I said, be a brony or a pegasister or just a fan or whatever you want to! :D

I am not a girl, but I will say that from personal experience, most female fans will prefer to term Brony, at least the one's I have met. Personally I don't really mind what one wants to call themselves, but I like to think of Brony as a unisex term that is not inherently masculine or feminine in meaning, an all encompassing unisex term fits the fandom/community better if you ask me.

Brony. Don't you get it? "Pegasister" sounds so fucking weird. I mean, it sounds like a SISTER of a pegasus. It's ridiculous. So, anyway, BRONY is the cooler name.

As opposed to brother of a pony?

You must be pinkie pie, because your logic makes no sense :P

I honestly like both. Plus, pegasister is rather clever if you ask me :)

Make sense? What fun is there in making sense?

I prefer the term pegasister, I think mostly because people seem to unintentionally alienate girls when referring to the brony fandom in general. I mean, even the documentaries I've seen so far have made a distinction that bronies are almost all boys. So, it gives me something particular to belong to that I feel like I fit in with.

I definitely still consider myself a brony though & it doesn't really matter what I'm referred to as.

Are you serious? It's a fandom. Of course there are girls in the fandom. The show is, in fact, made for girls in the first place :P

They can be called whatever they please too.
