What do you love about MLP and its fandom?

The things that draw me in are:

-Atmosphere. There's a very nice, colorful fantasy atmosphere with no humans. There's tons of mythical creatures, magic, unicorns, and pegasi :D

-Characters. The characterization is masterful in this series. Everypony has unique traits, and a lot of personality. Heck, a lot of non-speaking characters in Friendship is Magic are better written than the majority of characters in most other shows these days.

-Humor. It's one of the few children's shows out there to be genuinely funny. It goes to show that you can be funny without resorting to toilet humor.

-Morals. Every episode has something important to teach about friendship. It compares to the "slice of life" genre of anime. In addition, there's an ongoing theme involving Cutie Marks and trying to find something you're good at. This goes a long way to teach the audience that everypony is special in some way.

I've never been one to call MLP's animation spectacular. It's average for a television production pipeline, barring a select few clever moments.

For flash animation, the animation is ahead of the curve. Watch Friendship is Magic next to another flash animated show, such as Chowder or Johnny Test, and you'll see.

It's a pretty awesome show. Great animation, a plot that doesn't repeat itself like most cartoons these days, and a group of characters I can actually relate too. Pony influence was widely spread by the time I even watched the first episode.

Indeed.

Well, like most ponies the very most primary reason is for the characters. They are well-developed, diverse, likable, and downright adorable, which is the primary reason such a vast following has developed for the show. The second would have to be the world-building. Every little bit of information we get I tend to hang on, and it creates a beautiful picture in my mind. Then... well... I'm an 18 year old male. I'm not supposed to like things that are adorable, and I become a freak if I do. In a very basic way, this is a way for me to indulge my desires for things that adorable in a surreptitious and easy-to-defend way.

Brushing your hair is for people who care and someone who cares is not I, I'll jump off a bridge and then fill up your fridge,
and best pony is Fluttershy.

Her face is still blushing and she is still eating the pasta.

Honestly I love it because it keeps me engaged. I watched the original series as a kid, so I did have fond memories of MLP even though I had long since grown out of it by then. Back when the series first came out, I had an urge to start looking up mlp episodes to see what the newer gens had done with it, and I swear gen 3 made me want to cry. Then I came across the first episode of this(while it was around 7 release wise) and was shocked with how good it was! I started trying to get all my friends to watch it, then found the community =3

honestly though, the togetherness it brings with all sorts of people is something I enjoy as well ^^ but honestly, its just a good show =) and you do actually learn something from it, which is more then I can say about some of the shows out these days.

Interesting, well-written characters, good animation, good music, good stories and generally it is just fun to watch.

I like to do requests. Please, if there is something you want to see me, an amateur, draw for you, just send me a PM with the details and I'll say yay or nay. Most likely yay.

One reason, the characters are all down to Earth, they are all different. Honestly the first time I saw Fluttershy I thought she was going to be a standard girl character. What really stands out to me now is the enviroment of the whole Equestrian rule. All the characters create a loving attitude and the government ruled is reasonable.

I could write a insightful post, but I can't be bothered. So here's an equally cute image that answer's your question.

I'd like to thank the MLP Vector Club for the images used in my avatar.

I do not love My Little Pony at all. I love My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. To say I like My Little Pony means that I like the previous gens, which I have tried watching and literally puked.

In all seriousness, I like Friendship is Magic because the characters are all really well done, the animation, and the fanbase. The characters display basically everything and anything that a real person can be like and are examplars of their particular traits. The animation is STUNNING. Enough said. The fanbase (while admittedly over the top sometimes) is awesome and has so many great people who all share the same interest: a love of FiM.

I'll answer this like I was talking to a non-brony.

Forget everything you know/remember about past My Little Pony. Pretend you never heard about MLP. Now imagine a show that isn't lowbrow, is very wholesome, genuinely funny, highly detailed, and has a well thought out plot. Would you want to watch that show? It's a show that can lift up your spirits and make you feel good about yourself. The show is clever and straight to the point with jam packed 22 minute shows.

This is why I like the MLP:FiM

It's well written. The characters are easy to care about. The color palette is quite pleasing to the eye. The animation style is vibrant and flowing. The character design is wonderful. The voice talent does an excellent job. The songs are wonderful.

Any three of the things I have listed would assure a good cartoon in my opinion. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic represents a "Perfect Storm" in animation, if you will. Let me break it further down to it's very basic...

I LOVE MY PONIES!

Pretty much for the same reason everyone else loves it. Also i don't really watch cute and cheery shows so it's a really nice change.

The main reason tho:

Depth of the main characters and the quality of animation and voice acting.

Any show with these attributes is awesome, but cute pony characters just makes it perfect.

I love it for the characters. I am truly swept away by how wonderful and flawed they are. So few shows or books or movies have such well thought out characters, so it is amazing to see such in a children's show.

Albeit, even more than that, I think I love the fact that while they're all girls, the series doesn't force the "this is what a girl must be like stereotypes" that are found everywhere these days. I truly hope that any young girls watching this show take the message of being able to be a girl and be diverse to heart.

One of the main reasons I'm this into the show is because it is very refreshing and really changes how the world looks at stuff and their target audience. This show has caused a lot of people to realise it doesn't really matter whether or not you belong to the original or generally believed target audience.

Another reason why mlp will never get boring is because of all the lovely fanart and fanfics, so there'll always be something to discuss with fellow bronies/pegasisters.

So to make a long story short:

- I'm in love with mlp: fim is because it is a livechanging show that has brought me a lot of insight in myself and the world

- Great character development

- Awesome fanbase

- The fact that the creators of the show are aware of the brony community and kind of listens to the things the community sais

It's probably how everything just fits together so well the art, music, characters. There's just not that many cartoon nowadays that take that extra step, y'know.

- Lauren Faust. I loved her work on Fosters home for imaginary friends, and I generally enjoy the work she does with shows.

- The characters are well defined and are easy to relate to.

- The animation style is to die for.

- And last but not least, the little references that the staff throw in there. I don't know about you, but I don't see a little girl noticing the LOTR reference in Lesson Zero.
