Nope, just you and your legs to run your ass out of their sight. You can throw stuff at them and it will push them back for literally 2 seconds before they charge at you faster than Rainbow Dash, so stunning them is a no-no .

Plot in a nutshell;

you're a guy (Daniel) who upsets the vengeful spirit (The Shadow) of a relic and

you ask another guy (Alexander) who happens to deal with magic to help you fend off

this spirit. He tricks you though, as he actually wants to return to his

homeworld, He makes you peform tasks, mostly killing innocent people, for they

secrete a substance that his alien world knows but not us. It is used to help

him get back to his world, You soon realize his evil deeds, drop notes around

the rooms of the castle he lives in in order to remind yourself to kill him

after you drink an amnesia potion (Hence the title) in order to forget all the

evil he manipulated you to do, and the game is you basically going back to kill

him, all while trying to fend off this spirit on the way. The monsters are a

result of Alexander making some people drink a potion that caused them to

explode. He then reconstructed them with his magic, and in the end made the

monsters that you saw in that pic.

The Stalkers from Dead Space 2 are one of the few things that have legitimately scared me in a video game.

 

I couldn't find any high quality in game images.

 

It's not that they look messed up, it's because their behavior is one of the most original things I've seen in a horror game. The only thing worse than an enemy that runs towards you is something that knows how to hide from you. You'll only encounter them in huge, open labyrinthine areas so you don't really know where you or they are. They come in packs and when you hear their velociraptor-like shrieks you know they have you surrounded.

You hear them crawling around until one of them sticks its head around a corner to distract you, while another races at you from the side, or jumps down from a wall where you aren't looking. You only have a few seconds to get in a good shot at them.

I like them because of the fear they cause on the gameplay level instead of just being jump scares.

Dead Hands (but in the remake they aren't as creepy) and ReDeads. Every time I get seen by a ReDead I go into panic mode like OHGODOHGODOHGODOHGOD and I just flail while button mashing and try to get to the Sun's Song as fast as I can.

Most of the Pokemon Green and RBY scare me because they were really monsters. Now they're neater I guess. That and they learned anatomy

But there is one Pokemon that scares the living crap out of me.

Cryogonal.

Have mercy on us all.

 

Every time I ran into one in the wild I got shivers (pun possibly intended).

 

Also I've seen pictures and stuff from Binding of Isaac and I don't think I could stomach that game.

I never understood that game. I've never played it cause I'm too cheep to buy it :x but what's the point if you cant kill an enemy? o.O Is there a mystery to be solved or something? but I mean even then cant you fashion a blunt weapon out of a chair leg or an iron pipe?

 

....its only $20 and having a weapon ruins the point of the horror. I mean, have you ever read H.P.Lovecraft? the idea that you are powerless to fight back against such evil is horrifying.

From survival horror games, Lisa from Resident Evil- I always dread the circular room she can chase you around in. As for other games, when it comes to Zelda, forget ReDeads- the Spirit Guardians in Skyward Sword are much scarier imo. Also, seeing overleveled enemies around the field in Xenoblade freaked me out a bit at first, but you can avoid them rather easily anyways.

Growing up playing donkey kong 64 i had to get my dad to beat this boss for me, im not sure why but he scared the hell out of me

....its only $20 and having a weapon ruins the point of the horror. I mean, have you ever read H.P.Lovecraft? the idea that you are powerless to fight back against such evil is horrifying.

Funny how you can setup barricades using stuff like chairs, barrels etc. from the monsters yet I've seen videos of them falcon-punching the barricades to oblivion if they see you for too long. Its like the game is telling you "Don't let the f***ing monster see you"

While I'm not afraid of it anymore, (and I think he's a total bad ass amongst other wyverns) I've always found the Akantor of the monster hunter series to be a very imposing, intimidating foe of a large scale, with a high caliber roar!

Mine doesnt really LOOK scary, but I still get chills whenever I face it in FFVII.
