I absolutely hate the circle-jerks in media that can be found online and in real life, from TV to music to video games. Apparently if I don't watch the same shows as you do, listen to the same music as you do, or game the same way as you do, something is horribly wrong.

 

Saying "It's just not my thing" or even "I gave it a shot, but didn't like it" seems to be a red flag for a total lost cause.

Religious fanaticism to the point where scientific theories are ignored in order to preserve one's faith.

 

Anyone who says "I don't believe in evolution because it's not in the Bible" or "I know fossils have been carbon dated as millions of years old but the world must be less than 10,000 years because Genesis says so" are a disgrace to the human race. You cannot argue with nor educate a mind that works like that. The universe is a beautiful place and we have the amazing pleasure of experiencing it for a few decades. We should have the responsibility to learn all we can about it while we are here instead of believing stories that were written thousands of years ago and modified hundreds of years ago in order to control the peasantry all the while living in ignorance, waiting for an afterlife which in all likelihood will never arrive.

 

That is what I hate most in this world.

I hate when people kiss up to mods or admins. Not just here, but on any site whatsoever. I find that behavior ridiculous. It's okay to be friends with them and have a normal conversation, but when you start kissing up to them for special attention then it becomes bad. Their position doesn't change the fact that they are still people. They are not gods or deities. I had experience with this on another forum website I frequented and it was sickening. -_-

My hates...well, all those Internet trolls who go around saying how all bronies are either gay, stupid or (in some cases) mentally disabled. That really irritates me. It's as if they can't accept that not everyone likes/dislikes what they like/dislike. After all, it's what makes an individual and individual.

 

My next hatred would be war...there's always a way to resolve something without violence, or death.

 

Discrimination (racism, sexism, against people with certain religions, etc.), because I know what it's like to be left out of things just because I'm a little different...it's really not nice. At least you should be accepting to everyone and respect them, you don't even have to like them.

 

People who can't respect people's opinions that are different to theirs.

 

The Scottish National Party's idea to make Scotland independent from the rest of the UK...seriously, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

 

Exams (at least the ones we have here in Scotland). I don't feel that they really test your true ability. I also hate that awful wait for the results to come, too.

There are a lot of things I actually really hate and am terrified of.

Bugs. Especially moths. I cannot even tell you how terrified I am of MOTHS. *shudder*

Injections/needles- I am extremeelyy squeamish, so the pain from even THINKING about it going into me is worse then the actual pain.

Gore, blood, muscles, hospital shows, veins, hamstrings, etc. Yuck yuck yuck yuck yuck yuck yuck.

My worrieing- I worry a bunch about my pets and stuff like that.

people that think they know a lot about something i'm telling, and they proceed to just say something that is wrong on all levels of the word.

example:

i'm talking about a minarelli AM6's crankshaft.

the person next me proceeds to say this gem:

 

"yeah the crankshaft of a AM6 is pretty cool, i really like the way it has just 1 axial crankweight but still haves good RPM"

 

when that happened i facepalmed so hard

PETA because they're insane murderous eco-terrorists, yet still have a large amount of influence. It's really the success of that terror group that annoys me. PETA should have disbanded a long time ago.

Hate is a strong word and one of those that people throw around a little too much for something as little as an annoyance.

 

The one thing I can truly say I hate, but love at the same time, is the way the human mind works in our current society. In general the human mind can be a wondrous thing but because of the way we have evolved into some sort of hive-mind state people now have a hard time accepting when things are extremely different and shunning those who do things that way. That's why we have so many brony haters (or haters of any kind really)

I hate false notions of open-mindedness. The people who talk about how open minded they are often the same people hating on others (mostly Christians and Conservatives) for being close-minded. In other words, the people who pride themselves for being able to accept people can't accept people who don't accept the people they accept. Open mindedness means that you can see many points of view, most "open-minded" people these days just see the popular ones. I'm guilty of this, too. I think most people are, really :/

 

I strongly dislike (but don't really hate) misanthropists. The people who think humans are terrible and evil and all need to die because we kill things. We are a product of our evolution. We got here by being the smartest and by killing things until we were the dominant predator. We were smart enough to stay here. If humans are terrible creatures, it's only because we are the only ones with individuals who hate themselves and their species.

 

I hate that my sisters became a total health nut while I was at college and is super preachy about it. But I still love her because she's my sister

I hate living in a Mormon college town. Nothing to do, everything is closed on Sunday, it seems like most of the women my age are married or engaged (the ones who aren't still won't have anything to do with me because I'm atheist), and I have trouble being my self without being shunned.

Keep in mind that the English language (much like any language, I would assume) is an ever-changing language and many words have many different meanings already. It's not totally unusual for a word to gain a new meaning when commonly used that way, especially when there's no better word to describe an emotion or experience like the way "epic" is used on the internet.

 

I think some people want to assume that because a dictionary says it's so, then that is the be-all end-all definition for that word under any circumstances. The word teleport creates a squiggly line every single time that I use it but it most definitely a word that we use often. Dictionaries are a tool, not a rulebook.

 

Unless you really see people misusing the words to the point they really mean something that has an actual word for it and they are just plain using the wrong word in which case my mini-rant is pointless but it's there.
