Moments in MLP that really touched you

Two moments really touched me so far:

 

-At the second episode in season 1, when Twilight learns how much she needs her friends and how much she realizes she cares for them. Made me cry a bit....

 

-After the mane six were done explaining how they got their  cutie marks (in the Cutie Mark Chronicles) how the talked about how they were meant to be friends. I didn't really think it was that cheesy....I like it, teared me up a bit.

When Twilight reads the letters she sent to Princess Celestia in The Return Of Harmony.

Most touching moment would have to be when Luna is broken from her NightmareMoon phase and gets back in touch with celestia (aka first episode). It just seemed like such a big deal, I mean, luna was gone for so long, and her sister probably had not communicated with her often, so it just seemed very touching and sweet.

I haven't posted in this thread since the start of season 3. In light of recent events I'd like to nominate the entire last 3-4 minutes of Sleepless in Ponyville. If you have a soul, you know why.

I haven't really had any episodes that actually touched me, I'm waiting for the season 3 finale to come. I'm hoping it's something AMAZING AND MINDBLOWING.

The Apple Family reunion scene with the shooting stars, it was like even though Applejacks parents are probably dead they still live on an are watching the family. I have had a lot of family pass on in the last 15 years one of them being my father so I know what it is like to lose a parent. I think part of the reason Applejack tried so hard was to honor their memory.

 

Luna's redemption at the end of the Nightmare Moon two parter, virtually the entire episode of Sleepless in Ponyville. The end of Sisterhooves social where Sweetie Belle found out it was Rarity almost the entire time.

The BBBFF song. Being a big brother myself it really hit me. I wasn't a bad brother before it but after it I am striving to be an even better one.

Ooh, I like this. I can much more easily answer it than "What made you cry?".

• Applejack breaking down and asking her friends for help in Applebuck Season.
• When Twilight ran away crying in Winter Wrap Up. She was just trying to help...
• Rarity's reaction to her friends not liking her outfits in Suited for Success. She was so nice and generous even though she was incredibly disappointed.
• Pinkie Pie's discording. 
• Twilight's gradual denigration to anger and alienation in The Return Of Harmony. At the beginning she's hopeful, but by the time she turns grey, she has just completely given up. And then her return to normal is absolutely heartwarming.
• Twilight Sparkle telling Princess Celestia that she was a bad student in Lesson Zero. Wow, this list has been surprisingly Twilight dominated. Maybe I need to move her up to 3rd best pony.
• Rainbow Dash being left ignored and alone in The Mysterious Mare Do Well. 
• The ending of Secret Of My Excess. There's Spike's confession to Rarity, but I was particularly touched by the moment when he put his hand over the huge footprint in the ground. You can see how guilty he feels.
• Applejack revealing why she was running away in The Last Roundup. Just that face when she looks down at her medals...
• Putting Your Hoof Down has the scene where Fluttershy tells her friends to leave her alone so she doesn't hurt them anymore. 
• Um, all of Hurricane Fluttershy? There's a reason why it's my favorite episode. Especially for Rainbow Dash. So many times where I've seen a friend suffer and I have no idea how to help them...
• What Spike saw in the door to his worst fears.
• Real Pinkie Pie in Too Many Pinkie Pies.
• The ending of Sleepless In Ponyville. So. Many. Feels.
• Applejack realizing her mistakes in Apple Family Reunion and the shooting stars at the end.

I agree with the OP of this topic. The scene where Twilight meets Fluttershy for the First Time really makes me feel special inside. This is such a common situation for me, I felt extremely touched by the show at this point as it really connected with me.

The moment that touched me was, when Discord was able to turn the Mane 6 gray. By, making them see their Anti-Elements of Harmony.

When Big Macintosh gets mad in Ponyville Confidential.

Wonderbolts Academy, when Rainbow Dash stands up to Lightning Dust.

 

Magical Mystery Cure, when Twilight meets Celestia, Celestia starts singing, and scenes from the show are shown. Right in the feels. So proud of ya, Twi.

I think the moments that touched me the most were:

 

Sleepless in Ponyville: When Luna appears in Scootaloo's dream and dispels the headless horse.  Not only did they nail the strange, otherworldly feeling of a child's nightmare, not to mention the sheer terror of it, but Luna's soft, gentle voice and her dispelling the apparition was one of the most comforting things I've seen in a very long time.  Seriously almost made me cry the first time - there have been many a night when I've wished for that sort of intervention in my dreams...

 

Keep Calm and Flutter On: The instant that Discord suddenly realizes he might lose the only friend he ever had.  Say what you will about the episode being rushed and what not, but those couple of seconds where he just GETS it were pure genious, IMO.

 

The Cutie Mark Chronicles: In Twilight's flashback, when she suddenly goes out of control due to the sonic rainboom, followed by Celestia's calming presence to bring her back to normal.  I thought this particular moment was actually pretty scary, then again pretty comforting when it was resolved.

 

The Crystal Empire, Part 2: When Twilight enters the door of doubt and encounters Celestia telling her she failed.  I have always been intrigued by stories involving this sort of psychological manipulation.  Again, I think the show's staff managed to totally nail this scene, particularly in that sort of "You know something's not right, but you can't pull away" feel.

Usually everything that has Fluttershy doing something dramatic always touches me, but there's sometimes when the other ponies do too.

I cant quite remember any at the moment, but the one I do love is when RD does a sonic rainboom.

When Applejack's friends assured her in the Last Roundup. Saddest moment

for me by far, the first time I EVER cried in the WHOLE entire show. I

know nopony else is going to even say anything about Applejack, but I

will.

 

That had been one of the saddest moments for me too including the letter in Return of Harmony.

 

Including where Spike and Rarity are falling in Secret of My Excess, and many moments with Rarity too.

One of the things that disturbed me deeply was when Discord was "changing" the girls. So when Twilight started reading her own letters, with hope returning to her, that was one of the moments that touched me.

 

But also...

 

- Celestia and Luna reuniting.

- The intro telling the story of Nightmare Moon.

- Cadance doing the little dance when Twilight finds her in the caves.

- Ponies and buffaloes find peace and a way to share the land.

- The distress the ponies find themselves in when trying to "do what their cutie mark is telling them".

- The whole "A True True Friend" sequence (AJ's tearful eyes almost killed me).

 

There are certainly others, but I feel bad for the changelings. I feel like if they approached the ponies peacefully, the ponies would probably come up with a sort of "love donation program" XD.

Poignant is a synonym for touching, and elsewhere I already identified a scene in Apple Family Reunion as the most poignant moment in the series for me. I simply love the way Applejack expressed grief while momentarily reflecting on mom and dad and how she turned that sorrow into determination. The acknowledgment that nobody lives forever and that each day is a gift was very real. It was moving and it summed up in a nutshell why Applejack is both one of the most driven AND one of the most caring characters anywhere in fiction. All right, I need to stop before I'm tempted to displace Rainbow Dash or Fluttershy as my two favorite ponies.

 

Speaking of Dashie and Flutters, they also rank high on my most touching moment list:

-The Sonic Rainboom to save Rarity and three Wonderbolts.

-Fluttershy's final refusal to surrender to her fears in Hurricane Fluttershy.

-Fluttershy thinking she accidentally killed Philomena.

-Twilight Sparkle quitting in Return to Harmony...and then unquitting just a little later!

-Scootalove!

-Spike standing up to the teenage dragons when they told him to break Pee Wee's egg.

-Spike confessing to Rarity in Secret of My Excess.

-Pinkie Pie when she lost her joy and laughter in Party of One.

-Watching each pony rediscover her original destiny in Magical Mystery Cure.

But if I was to choose I would say some prominent touching moments was when Twilight Sparkle was distrusted by everyone in Canterlot Wedding and when Twilight finally turned gray at the end on Return of Harmony.

Twilight becoming an Alicorn was probably the biggest for me.  The entire thing was so well structured, so well executed... to say I got misty-eyed would be an understatement.  Liquid pride everywhere.

You see, moments on My Little Pony cannot touch me, for a number of reasons. One of which being that it is simply a flat image on a screen, incapable of physically touching me unless I touch it.

Well, pretty much every episode has something that evokes strong emotion, so this is gonna be a long list... I guess I'll do just season 1 for now, and the others later.

 

-Celestia and Luna's reunion.
-Boast Busters, when Twilight apologizes for showing off.
-Winter Wrap Up, when Twilight cries and hides after Applejack yells at her.
-Fall Weather Friends, when Pinkie invites Spike to report together.

-Suited For Success, when the others are just "meh" about the dresses... that hurts, and she took it like a champ. And then when Hoity Toity loves them, faith in self restored

-Sonic Rainboom, Rarity having the empathy to see that Rainbow needed support, and of course Rainbow pushing herself past her limit to save Rarity and the Wonderbolts.
-All of Cutie Mark Chronicles.

I really loved Sleepless in Ponyville, gotta be one of my favourite episodes. Just that whole 'bond' that Rainbow made at the end really made it for me, as well as the part Luna played.

Ok, covered season 1 in a previous post, now it's on to season 2... so many moments!

-Lesson Zero, when Spike is hiding while Celestia explains that he's the only reason she knew to come. Also, Twilight looks so small and pitiful in this scene
-Sweetie Belle's drawing... whichever animator drew that is a true artist, to capture such a look of love in simple circle eyes.
-Fluttershy's joy when Rainbow says she wants a pet, and when they sing together at the end of the song.
-Every time Twilight assumes the best of Rarity in Sweet & Elite.
-Hearth's Warming Eve, when the three ponies forgive eachother as they freeze.
-Family Appreciation Day, when the kids finally see Granny Smith as the wonderful pony she is, and not just a kooky old lady.
-Baby Cakes, when Twilight tries to help but gets rejected. So many times throughout the series, her help is refused, and this time she upset Pinkie on top of it.
-Also, when the babies comfort Pinkie when she cries... and say her name in their sleep.
-Last Roundup, "now you know". Indeed, I know that feel, AJ.
-Read It And Weep, when Rainbow is finally caught. Not just admitting to doing something embarrassing, but admitting it after making such a big deal about it that your friends laugh at you.
-Fluttershy locking herself away so she doesn't hurt her friends in the Iron Will episode.
-All of Hurricane Fluttershy... Fluttershy hiding, Rainbow trying to help, Fluttershy failing, Rainbow not knowing how to help, Fluttershy crying (saddest noise ever made), training, failing again even when she felt confident... it's an emotional roller coaster, I tell ya.

 

...and Canterlot Wedding. The most epic animated work I've seen since the original release of Lion King. Too many to list, but here are my top moments.

-The BBBFF song. It reminds me of my little sister... except I was the one who ran off for a few years.

-The look on Twilight's face when even Celestia doesn't trust her judgement (remember what she said at the start of the very first episode?)... and everything from there until Chrysalis traps her.

-That tiny heart Cadence pops out to wake up Shining Armor.

-The image of them in a heart shape (and the music!)

-Their long cuddle-hug during the intro to Love Is In Bloom.

Actually, just about all of Magical Mystery Cure touched me that way. It was a happy episode for the most part, but I still couldn't help but feel sad.
