This is about what if the Sea Ponies...

Remember the Sea Ponies from the G1 of MlP? Believe me, I' am no fan of the Sea Ponies. But, what happends if the Sea Ponies appear on the FiM TV series?

Yes I will mind. i think sea ponies are probably the dumbest thing to come out of the entire MLP universe. I couldn't watch an episode that had that in it.

Back when they talk about the creation of Equestria in Hearth's Warming Eve, there is no mention of sea ponies at all.

 

Seems like an entire new breed of pony being added all of a sudden would just kind of throw things off, and wouldn't really work. Also, not sure why they would need to be added. Can't really seem to find any moral sea ponies would be needed to help show in the episode.

 

Sea ponies themselves don't appeal to me, much. They seem so awkward compared to the pegasi, unicorns, and Earth ponies.

I feel like if anyone is able to pull off Sea Ponies, it would be the writers and VAs. However, they seem every uninspiring and I hope that the writers have something more interesting in mind for the seasons to come.

 

I really want to see a Griffin/Pone conflict already.

I'd much rather the show go to new places and use new things, instead of rehashing old stuff from the old generations. They pulled character appearances, names and some other very minor things from the past generations, and as far as I'm concerned, that's as much involvement in the past as G4 should have.

Agreed G4 should try its best to be as original as it can be instead of rehashing from previous generations. Although quite honestly i wouldn't mind seeing a small glimpse of a G4 sea-pony a cameo of them perhaps.

Anyways, I never knew that Sea Ponies were in the past generation, but as long as they are a minor character I wouldn't mind cause at least there are seahorses, it's not like they're creating their own type of pony. But then again, I wouldn't mind as long as they were very minor, not a recurring thing.

I agree with @@~Chaotic Discord~, I'd much rather them use a bathysphere to find the Lost Treasure of Captain Breadbeard or something, rather than encounter creatures that

I don't really mind them. It's not like they can come back, Hasbro lost all rights to g1 except Applejack and Spike so I'm guessing they don't even own sea ponies anymore.

I wouldn't really mind if they were in the show.

I'm not a total fan of the sea ponies, but they seem pretty swell.

Overall though, i doubt they will make it in the show, there doesn't seem to be much watery areas in the cannon areas either.

It would make a cool water based episode though.

Hippocampi/Seahorse ponies actually... Sound like SOMETHING they could pull off. If an episode or 10 turned out to be a world exploration thing (Celestia/Luna orbiting/on respective celestial body with telescope. See something.), then MAYBE they could pull it off as a sea exploration thing or some form of myth drawing on other things.

 

As the only earlier-gen reference they need, just have who or what is in charge of the seahorse populace blame some seaponies who used sonic weapons to try and fail to take over the more inland Equestria for the majority of bad publicity.

 

They should do it only if they can pull off a mythical reference or a spinoff of a myth reference. Earth Ponies the one who the reference is least obvious (To me, anywho.), Inspired By <Insert Mythical Horses Here>. Therefore, Sea Ponies Inspired By <Insert AQUATIC Mythical Horses Here>.

Sea ponies should in the show I think. We all agree that the previous sea ponies were an epic fail. But I think with the new art style, they could be a big hit. Atlantis could be a home for said hybrids

I think space ponies would do much better than sea ponies, but then again, Luna was the first mare on the moon. I don't like the concept of sea ponies, it's just weird in my opinion.

i used to love the sea ponies, but im not sure how they could write in an in-depth encounter (ba-dum-tish)  i could understand a cameo appearance.  sea ponies were good at saving drowning ponies in the old shows haha

I don't think I would mind... Since there's already ponies for the sky and earth, I think it makes some semblance of sense that there would be ponies that live in the sea. Perhaps not as main characters in an episode, but as a very brief background cameo like someone above said. Or even a picture in one of Twilight's books on magical creatures!

Sea ponies wouldn't necessarily have to live anywhere near Ponyville or even Equestria. We know there are all kinds of weird mythical species and crossbreeds in their world (Hydra, Manticore, Gryphon, etc), so it's not that implausible that they exist somewhere.

As long as Sea Ponies aren't a reoccurring part of the show, then I'd be okay with it. 

 

I mean, who knows? With the new artwork, maybe there would be an Atlantis type area that would be filled with Sea Ponies, which would look better than G1. Since everything has been improved, maybe Sea Ponies aren't such a bad idea.

 

In fact, the more I type about Sea Ponies, the more I want them in an episode or two.

I honestly think that instead of Crystal Ponies there should have been sea ponies. The crystal ponies looked kind of lame in my opinion.
