Of course, I did really like the old My Little Pony when I was little. I liked buying the toys and I had a really fun My Little Pony computer game when I was about seven. And I havent been into it since...well, I grew up! LOL

But then of course I discovered Friendship is Magic, which is just genius!!

And compared to the old generation's TV show, the old one is just YUCK. Dx

What do you guys think??

The generation 2 game?? I LOVE THAT GAMMEEE! Lol

I actually like g1 and 2. G3 is just.....Not good. And g3.5 is just......bad. And g3.5 baby cuties is just.....GET THIS AWAY FROM ME!!

The g1 and g2 shows really arent too bad to me. Not as good as g4 but they dont deserve hate. Me and my sister are looking every where for g1 toys. They are so cute.

The g1 show is kinda good. G2 show is ok. I really dont like g3

I liked the toys but not the show. FiM is a good balance of pretty ponies and kooky humor, and I can see more of myself in ponies that are female but have more modern personalities such as Applejack, Twilight Sparkle, and Rainbow Dash. The older ones just kind of seem to... giggle, run off, and get into trouble.

I personally hate the old series, and the put a stereotype on this new show. It makes it easy for people to skit at the new show, which is more about referances and amazing plots, where as the old show was mindless, stupid girls show.

I never liked the older generations, This newer one is the best so far. I believe their might be newer generations, but it's more likely that this one will carry on maybe with new characters, Maybe still in PonyVille with the current Mane 6 as background characters. That's a good idea, infact... ^^

I think older My Little Ponies are criminaly underrated at times. But anyway I enjoy all generations of My Little Pony, G4 is the best so far but I don't think pre G4 is so bad either really.

I love G3/3.5 the best out of the older ones

I feel like they were too... mushy. Although I did like G3 as a kid. I have about 30 G3's from when I collected them from ages 8-11. I don't know much about G1, just that they were a bit too bulky. :P

One thing I HATED about G3 was the lack of male ponies. Even as a child I asked " How they heck do they reproduce? "

G4 is, obviously, much better. But I still have respect for the other generations. ;)

Love and tolerate, and live by it.

No, this is not a Hallmark card. I'm just incredibly sappy. ^o^

well... when i was younger, i disliked MLP, all of them (except MLP FIM) mostly because i dont like real ponies, and i was more of a tom boy, and it was too much of a girly show X3

My opinions

Gen 1: Great story plots, poor design

Gen 2: Overall terrible!

Gen 3 and 3.5: Great design, boring story plots

Gen 4: Awesome stories and awesome designs!

To be totally honest... i've never watched any other generation except FIM. But I've seen a few small clips and i've heard things about them, and I don't really think i'd like them. I'm actually somewhat afraid of how bad they truly may be lol.

But again i've never watched the others so i don't exactly have an offical opinion, maybe that will change sometime.

Gen 1: Alright, but not great enough for me to recommend to even fans of G1. Characterization is barely there so Gen 1 isn't really going to make lasting impressions on me.

Gen 3: What do you get if you have too much artificial sweetener? You get cancer. Gen 3 was absurdly girly and had really lame plots. One movie I looked at was basically....

*It's spring!*

*Breezies are here!*

*OMG a garden weed in MY Garden? THE WORLD IS FALLING APART!! ZOAM$$UI&gT&Y&T*Q@GRF)Q(WHFo*

*Diggy diggy*

*Aaaaahhhh! There's a hole under the weed and now I'm falling!*

*Hey! There's a thousand year old baby dragon names Spike with really bad BO and a cool flower!*

*Wow, I touched that flower so now I'm a princess!*

*Let's celebrate! And host a parade!*

*On noes, now there are rules to what a princess can and cannot do and now it's no fun while everyone is setting up the parade without my own organizational skills.*

*Forget this, I'mma start breaking the rules and do all the fun stuff I used to do and still be a princess!*

*Spike faints*

*I have an idea, EVERYONE IS NOW A PRINCESS!*

Basically what the plot looked like in my eyes. :(

I literally had no idea that there ever where animated shows of it. I thought that only applied to Transformers, Strawberry Shortcake, and the Care Bears. I probably made fun of the toy commercials when they came on and said "My Little Pony, My Little Pony, you'll always be in my fart." Or something like that.

I found out about the show via the Internet, about the TV network The Hub, and that a show called My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic was developed by the wife Craig McCracken, the creator of the Powerpuff Girls. I found out that she also created the Foster's show that I used to watch, later on. I largely learned about this via Wikipedia.

Not even when I was a little tot who loved Barney with all the fiber of her being did I like the old generations. Characters can be barely told apart, their personalities were annoying, designs caused damage towards innocent eyes, and stories not too appealing. In summary, I preferred selling my soul to a purple, spawn of death himself rather than succumb to those pawns of prices you called ponies. But I have to give them some credit, after all, they brought G4. If I had to choose, I'd say G2 would be something I wouldn't mind watching at current thanks to it's 'unique' modern-ish setting. Just... please no G3.5... :(

I have seen a little bit of generation 1 when I was a kid because I had a cousin who was really into MLP at the time, she loved ponies so much that she later made a career out of it. Since it was such a long time ago I don't really remember much about it other than that I didn't really give it much of a shot on the count of it being "girly" I actually remember the toys and their commercials more than the show because you name my cousin had it. I saw the generation 2 toys but never really got any exposure to the generation 2 cartoon I did see a little bit of generation 3 and I wanted to cut off my ears and gouge my eyes out. Since I have heard that Lauren Faust based many of the characters in this generation on generation 1 characters I am thinking of giving generation 1 the same chance I gave this generation.

The only thing from a previous generation that I've seen was Rescue at Midnight Castle, the G1 special that featured Tirek. It wasn't exactly bad (with the exception of the sea ponies), but there wasn't anything special about it.
