Have an Irrational Fear?

I'm afraid of having dizziness spells.  I'm not sure why, but every time I have one, I start to hyperventilate.  It's kinda funny at times, but sometimes I think I'm gonna die.  It really sucks.

I have Acrophobia, the fear of heights. Don't know why I do, but I've had it since as long as I can remember. Not only that but I also suffer from Vertigo, so when I am in tall places and look down, my head gets all dizzy and I feel completely nauseous. >.>

It's gotten better as of late. I usually go to a Syracuse Basketball game and sit in the nosebleed sections to overcome the fear, since there's little protection in the seating.

Surprisingly irrational in my opinion but electricity. I fear even a static shock. I touched an elevator button inside of a hospital and just about passed out. I run through thunder storms in fear of lightning. I used to be so scares of static that i wasn't able to turn my need room lights on.

I guess i have a very bad fear of being burnt. For instance i really hate being near the fryer when the oil that's inside starts crackling and popping out from inside. Taking things out of the oven is fine as long as i have an oven mitt or something of the like ,but when im frying stuff i have to use my bare hands and i get cooking oil on me from time to time.

One time i was trying to get my grilled cheese sandwich which was frying in the pan very carefully as to not get burnt and my mom kept pressuring me by saying "hurry up!"

Yeah this seems like a very common thing here. I tend to do that even with completely harmless youtube videos...Watching MLP just made me paranoid and now I'm hiding everything from everyone.

My fear is bee's and wasps. I can deal with snakes, spiders, and all other forms of creepy crawlies, but if a bee gets anywhere near me then I go super ultra freak out mode. Wonder if there is a name for this phobia?

I'm scared of spiders... My dad also has a total hatred for snakes, even though I think they look kinda cute. Also, I'm really afraid of death. Not knowing what's going to happen scares the crap of me. No kidding. I also don't have any religion so I couldn't imagine anything else than 'nothing'

I guess this fear isn't completely irrational because I smoke and drink a little, but I always fear that I am going to have a heart attack at any moment. But not many 21 year olds get that.

I should also add that i have bad indigestion, and the pain from that centers around my chest so when that starts I start freaking out lol.

I got one that's SO stupid, it makes fear of being afraid look like having nerves of steel. I'm afraid of Wonderland. Yeah that whimsical Hellscape created by Lewis Carroll! I . . . kind of liked the Disney version, but when I look back on it, I never watched the ending more than once or twice. As soon as the Cheshire Cat appears at the trial and essentially dooms Alice to decapitation, I always popped out the VCR.

Now let's get one thing straight. I'm not talking about the post-modern concept of Wonderland being a metaphor for madness and the human psyche, no that kind of stuff fascinates me. What REALLY scares me is Wonderland as a real place. Whenever it's depicted as more than just the mane character losing it, I get freaked out.

Why? *Zecora voice* I shall tell. Sit back and enjoy some tea whilst I regal you with the story that is me.

In fictional worlds, long have I watched, read, and played.

From beloved Equestria, to the grimdark future of 40k.

I love to study and understand them, from fauna to culture,

a hobby that has not waned, as I've grown older.

But none has caused me more dread,

than one who's herald is a white rabbit

where an innocent girl looses her head

A double entendre, you see?

Decapitation or insanity?

The locals seem like Pinkie at first glance,

All smiles, and random fun, as they sing and prance.

Yet they talk in riddles, and think in uncommon nonsense.

Why not help the lost girl, if they be so benevolent?

Poor Alice stumbles from one trouble to the next,

From the Hatter's never-ending tea time to the Queen of Heart's ax.

Always poor Alice is alone, no one can be bothered join her

Her only companion a smiling cat . . . who only guides her to danger.

Logic may be the enemy here, but instinct offers little refuge.

Every step one takes, only leads further into the woods.

Would Carroll and Lovecraft get along? I cannot say.

But one can connect their tales in small ways.

The gods of their worlds offend human comprehension,

Their protagonists are immature and naive to the greater forces. Child-like, if not children.

The Cheshire Cat performs, points directions, and invites curiosity so he is of similar bent

To the human looking, but anything but, and crafty Nyarlathotep

At one point, Alice has had enough confusion. She just wants to go home. She breaks down into tears.

Wonderland fades to black, the creatures fade away. Leaving her truly alone in misery and fear.

THAT is the essence of my horror dear friends.

To be lost and alone in a hostile world I don't want to comprehend.

This was why Discord caused me such unease.

Less a wacky nare-do-well and more a demon of entropy,

Celestia saying his rule is one of pain and misery.

Even turned Equestria into Wonderland, did he!

Look at the image and tell me there is no similarity!

I apologize for my verbose rhyming.

Hopefully it wasn't too taxing or tiring.

But in short, that which creates greater fear in me than my own death knell,

is the thought of falling down the Rabbit Hole . . . and into Hell.

Not that it's any of my business, but wouldn't adopting some form of religion or spirituality solve that problem? I've no idea if what I believe about the afterlife is true, but I know there's something after death. At the most abstract and least doctrinal way of thinking it, you could say every atom you are composed of will dissolve into the Earth and you become one with the planet. Joining all those who died before you in a great, incomprehensible intelligence.

I have an irrational fear of babies. I fear that if I were to touch one, I would drop it or hold it too tightly and hurt it. I don't trust myself with children. My sister had her first and only child and I am afraid to even go near it...

Well, it’s 2 AM and I keep flashing a light at my wall to look for centipedes, so you tell me if I have an irrational fear. :orly:

I used to be afraid of dogs, until my parents decided to get one. Though their second dog still kind of makes me nervous a bit, I'm generally a lot more okay with them than I used to be. Other than that, the fear that the people I care most about would stop hanging out with me the moment I stop being 'useful'. There's literally two people in the world where I'm afraid of that happening, with everyone else I don't really care, but it's still irrational.

I used to have no irrational fears. But somehow, I picked up my ex's fear of bugs. I had no idea that was a thing fears could do. Fortunately it seems to be slowly fading away on its own now.

Sounds rational if you ask me.

I don't know what irrational means in this context. But I am afraid of things moving in the dark, that is just my imagination, hopefully :sealed:

Ever since my experience at my last job, I've been petrified of having employers and coworkers. It's kind of worked me into a corner where my only options are self employment or busting through the wall, and I've never been a strong person.
