Dashie is just so awesome! She represents everything I want to be. I'm too shy to do Youtube videos (that involve voice anyway) and I lack confidence, I would love to be as confident and sure of myself as she is. I even made a Rainbow Dash tulpa (still need to work on the meditation thing so I can speak with her, but she's already shared a bunch of her confidence with me).

Rainbow Dash has gotten a lot of negative attention from Season 4, but she got the best episode in the series from it and I loved her bit parts! She always seemed to get the funniest line in episodes she was barely even involved in. Maud Pie was freaking glorious.

I'm not typically fond of humanized ponies, but I think this one is done very well.

Plus she totally reminds me of Rainbow Brite (brohoofs to anypony old enough to remember that show)

OMG I never realized how creepy looking Rainbow Brite was!! Gah!! I'll stick this in a spoiler to save the eyes of the general population...

 

 

My sisters watched this when we were growing up, and one of them even had a RB Halloween costume, so I remember it! I've often thought that RD's gala dress/cape reminded me of her too. I think it's because the rainbow is thicker on the dress and has that thick, poofy white trim.

Forgot to mention that I even have the same sleeping pattern as Dashie. She doesn't sleep long because she thinks it'll slow her down, then she takes lots of short naps. I don't sleep til 1-2 AM, and end up taking midday naps (although for me, it's because I prefer napping during the day over sleeping during the night)

Those shoes are pretty awesome but what I want are the socks! I love wearing capris to work and various brightly colored socks (even have a friend or two at work who go out of their way to see my socks). Although I would totally rock that complete outfit at pride if I could...

This may sound odd, but I want those socks, too. xD  I want socks that say (to me, at least) "Rainbow Dash," but not ones with little wings attached or her face on them (they don't do Dashie justice - and I'd just stretch it out, anyhow).

I'm not ashamed to admit that I love Rainbow Dash that I've gotten a bit emotional while watching S1E16 "Sonic Rainboom."  When I saw it for the first time, I was already more emotionally invested in Dashie than I was in any of the other characters.  There were some episodes where she was either relegated to the background, excluded altogether, or had to share the spotlight, but Rainboom was her episode.  Probably don't need the spoiler at all, but:

she didn't so much as hesitate to try and save Rarity; no one rescued the plummeting Icarus when he heedlessly made a similar mistake.

  Just saying Dashie is awesome, is all.

I wanted to share my RD fan art that I just started working on in Art Academy:

 

I kept the lines fairly simple to accomodate all the coloring I'm gonna be doing (Dashie sure is a colorful gal). xD  I'll post the color version when I'm done.  A hundred years from now.

OMG, I just came across this for the first time, but it was SO funny to me and cute, especially the Russian version at 0:47-0:59!

One of my friends is writing a fanfic about Dash at the moment, and it got me thinking about how her childhood in Cloudsdale shaped her. The show's touched on how Fluttershy's experiences there made her a timid, nervous, repressed person, and I think it had a similar (though also opposite effect) on Dash. Instead of becoming timid, Rainbow became much more aggressive and confrontational in order to try and stop people from making her their sort of personal punching bag. Her knowing Fluttershy probably steered her into acting this way even more, both because she was able to see just how much people would take advantage of you if you'd let them, and because she started to feel more protective of her meek friend. Not saying that all of either of their attitudes come completely from their experiences as kids, but I do think they had an impact.

 

Kind of interesting how later episodes can tie into this, as well. After Testing Testing, you can sort of see that she was probably picked on for having trouble in school. Both her academic failures and not wanting to be seen as weak probably contributed to her attitude in Read it and Weep. I also think that all of this ties into why she started wanting to be a Wonderbolt in the first place, both because she loves flying and because nobody would ever dream of calling a Wonderbolt a failure. Sort of a way to always know that she's a success, and that everyone who ever mocked her was wrong.

 

And I'm largely saying things I've written and you've probably read elsewhere . Have a cute picture as thanks for reading.

Wonder if I could squeeze into a junior's RD shirt lol.  I own a Super Mario and a Yoshi shirt that were both in kid's sizes, and they fit. xD  Oh, and I asked my cousin if he'd pick me up an RD theme deck for the MLP CCG some time lol.
