What pony did you think you would like at first?

I was just doing nothing when I realized something. When I first watched My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, I thought my favorite character would be Applejack due to her accent and awesome hat. But as I continued watching the show, she turned out to be my least favorite character out of the Mane 6. My favorite now, is Fluttershy.

 

Which character did you think you would like when you first watched the show and post if that has changed now that you watched more of the show. Post below.

I thought mine would be Fluttershy because I'm most like her but now out of the mane 6 my favorite is Rainbow Dash, because she's the one I want to be most like

Before i watched the show i was like "wow Rainbow Dash looks so cool she will be my  favorite pony!"  but after watching it  Twilight became my favorite

I thought for sure my favorite was going to be Rainbow Dash, and initially she was. As I kept watching, I just started to like Applejack the best for some reason. Now I understand why AJ's my fave, but let's save that for later. I never disliked Dash, but her immaturity, arrogance, and mischievousness rubbed me the wrong way at times, especially during Season 2. Don't get me wrong, she's still a favorite of mine along with the rest of the Mane Six.

 

I actually thought I wouldn't like Rarity or Pinkie Pie, but they both surprised me in a pleasant way. I knew I would like Twilight Sparkle and Fluttershy. The whole gang is awesome.

Thought I would like fluttershy and after watching the show she was confirmed to be my favorite character!  I guess I'm an oddball in that I kept the same favorite before watching the show and after.

At first i liked AppleJack most and I hated Pinkie for all her singing, but after a few episodes Fluttershy became my favorite pony and I started enjoying the songs from Pinkie .

Surprisingly Rainbow Dash stayed as my favorite from the very beginning. But I've definitely grown to appreciate Pinkie a lot more since the beginning of the show.

Just before I started watching the show, I thought Applejack would be my favorite. I usually love the cowboy/cowgirl character in shows, but she didn't get a whole lot of attention at first. And even now that she's starting to get her fair share, she's still stuck in fifth place.

The pony that I would like at first, would be Rainbow Dash and she continues to be the pony that I still like so much that she is my favorite pony.

The rest of the gang are starting to grow on me, I will see if I will update my favorite ponies list when Season 4 arrives.

I initially thought my favorite of the Mane Six would be Twilight Sparkle, seeing as we're quite similar in worldviews and study habits. But over time, Pinkie Pie's annoying squeal faded away to some really clever jokes, and Rarity's extraordinary prissiness was replaced with some fantastic overdramatic moments. I can't pick a 'favorite' out of the group, but the two I liked least at first have now become the two I enjoy watching the most.

Funny story, actually.

 

At first, I thought that there were about 50 different ponies featured in the show, not just 6.

Reason being that I saw the picture with all of the mane 6 and background ponies first, so I thought that they all were main characters. When I actually watched the show, I was quite surprised.

 

The only pony that I knew about before I watched the show was Rainbow Dash.

I initially thought mine would be twilight as we are quite alike in the way we act, and i think i am very like her still but i always get applejack on the "what pony are you teats" and I've started to like her more and more

 

Now she is equal to twilight in my best pony list !

 

Overall however, I would say I relate to twilight and flutter shy the most and that they are the most "like me"

Before actually watching the show, I hadn't thought of it. I was convinced I wouldn't like Fluttershy, since from how I saw her depicted in the various images a bunch of Bronies posted on a forum I used to go to, I thought she would be the diva.

 

But, after watching a bit I started to really like Fluttershy and Rarity, and once I saw Hurricane Fluttershy, I decided she was my fav pony.

I was a hardcore Rainbow Dash fan for a while (my avatar can attest to that) but recently I've begun to like Pinkie Pie more and more. Out of all the mane 6 she is definitely the pony I would want to hang out with the most.

Pinkie Pie was my favorite pony before I even became a brony, before I even watched the show. I saw her in some videos on youtube beofore I didn't have a clue about the whole pony thing. And I thought she was funny. Your thread is invalid.

My favorite at the beggining of the show (or so I thought) was actually Flutters. I loved her hair, her eyes, her love of animals, her colors, then it dawned on me that she needed to 'grow a pair'.

 

My current favorite is Dash for multiple reasons... her toughness, the fact that rainbows are amazing, her personality, and her gaudy attitude.

Going in I didn't know much about the characters aside from the friend of mine who tried to get me to watch the show told me but based on what he told me I thought my favorite would either be Applejack or Twilight and it turns out I was actually right on both counts. I loved Applejack from the beginning and still do, I am one of the most outspoken Applejack fans on here. Twilight crept up on my list after I realized something I didn't really see at first that this same friend pointed out, Twilight and I have a lot in common if anything personality wise I am a strange combo of Applejack and Twilight. She soon climbed up to my second and then eventually tied with Applejack for my favorite. In addition to those two Luna also share the top spot and was there for almost as long as Applejack was.

I thought I'd love Rarity because I heard that she was a complex character and artist who broke stereotypes about girly girls and so I was like "HECK YEAH THIS'LL BE MY FAV FOREVER".

 

It was true... for Season 1. But Rarity stayed stationary in my enjoyment of her while Applejack and Rainbow Dash steadily climbed, leaving her in the dust. I thought I wouldn't like Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy because they initially all seemed like character types that wouldn't interest me.

When I was watching the first episode of the show, I was sure Fluttershy would be my favorite, what with how much I d'awwwwed at her, but her personality really didn't grow on me much. Afterwards, Pinkie Pie was my favorite, but her personality seemed so unchanged and stale. After much though and more episodes later, I decided Rarity was my favorite, and she still is.

I thought it would be Fluttershy, and I wasn't far off. She's tied at first with Rainbow Dash and Twilight. I don't really dislike any of the mane6 though Applejack is my least favorite. That isn't really saying much though.

For some reason, I thought I liked Applejack from the beginning, just because she wears a hat.

 

Even though Applejack did turn out to be my most favourite mane 6 pony, it wasn't just the hat, it turned out to be her personality and how understanding of friendship she is.

Even before I admitted I was Brony and started watching the show, I liked Fluttershy immediately. From the videos that I had seen and whatnot, she seemed unbelievably cute and given her name and what I had seen at the time, her personality matched mine quite well, in terms of being scared of things and being very shy.

 

She is still my favorite even now.
