umm, yeah, Monopoly is probably my favourite board game, it's great fun... i don't actually think i've ever backed out of a game, i have made others rage-quit though, there's a little troll in me that enjoys making people walk out through sheer frustration XD

When I play on my Ipod, it takes forever.  It took about 4 hours to finish the game and I lost.  I was also playing monopoly with my friend.  We started around 3 o'clock and we kept playing till about 9 and we still never finished it since I had to go home.  Anyways, I suck at Monopoly.

Monopoly is a lot easier to finish if you only have two people. If you have a bunch of players, it takes a ridiculously long time to finish the game :/

I've only played one game of monopoly and I won, it was against my family. The game was alright fun but I really didn't like it, I think it might of been boring because my littlest brother could never make any decisions for himself making my dad sort-of have to play for two teams.

Once or twice when I was a kid my family somehow thought it would be a good idea at the time, but Monopoly is the kind of game where all it takes is a single game to last for 3-4 hours before no one wants to play it ever again. My little brother's a huge Monopoly fan, so he has a sizable stack of games that have tried to speed it up somewhat over the last few years. Not just by replacing the paper money with credit cards, but one game I played was just "collect x amount of money first to win" and usually lasted anywhere from 30-40 minutes tops (I won both times we played that one by the way).

given i was around before the internet, cell phones, and most mobile gaming.. yes, finished a LOT of games.

 

Even the full family ones my grandparents sometimes held. They'd actually move the whole board as is to an empty room until we next came over, and then we'd finish the game.

Other times during power outages, or just for fun. But we also might "save" it by writing down our lots and envelopes to save our cash.

 

 

Takes time, and real patience to finish a full game with more than just 2 people too.

The modernized digital versions are IMO to fast and often to easy/hard depending on your setting. The computer is almost always going to take a buyout, or won't sell a thing.. there seems to be no in between.

Does Dig'n Dinos Monopoly count? If so then yes...yes I have. Never actually tried playing the base game of Monopoly though.....never really attracted me that much.

Well if you get rid of all the house rules and get people that are willing to trade property the game can go by rather quickly. My personal strategy is to buy up all the house pieces if I get the chance, and then I never upgrade them to Hotels so no one can build any houses. Muwahaha.

Playing Monopoly has sort of become ritualistic between myself and friends. I often take my Nintendo board set around, or host an Monopoly and Video Games event around at my home. Usually, our games have about 5 players.

Well, I remember finishing some when I was younger. I haven't played in years... I never really had the friends to play with, just family at times. (Mother, brother, ect.) Last time I played was with my brother and my father, as we played a Pokemon version he found at the thrift store. It didn't have the playing pieces, so I got to make them out of paper. (Younger Twi was very proud of her jobs, too.) We didn't get to finish, because of having to go back to my mother's, and he didn't keep his promise of keeping everything set up. He ended up selling it, too.. But I did finish a few, yeah.

I don't think I've ever completed/finished a true game of monopoly throughout my entire life :|. Most of the time we would just give up and stop playing after a while or if we knew someone was already going to win. Loved the game quite a bit, but never got around to actually finishing as far as I'm aware.

Yes, though Monopoly is so long that you can feel you've matured and aged during the process of play.

 

Monopoly also has an introduction, build-up, crisis, slow-down, and conclusion.
