Have you ever been in the Hospital for a severe reason?

I was only in the hospital once other than when I was born. I was two at the time.

I had collapsed and I was rushed to the hospital. It took about two weeks until they fixed my problem, which was pneumonia.

Three days. I forget what's the name of the disease, but it had something to do with a species of virus carried by mosquito which ruins your bloods ability to heal wounds. I had no idea where I got bitten though. I spent three days at home, guessing it was just a random cold until suddenly my nose bled like crazy. Then I went to the hospital and spent another three days before I recovered.

 

It was annoying. I had to drink a lot of water, go to the bathroom every one hour, poop, and else, but I didn't really feel weak. I just felt like very-very tired, lazy and bored. No pain.

 

There were some other people who got the same disease as me that time. They were in different rooms, but the nurse said that I was the one who recovered fastest. In total, the disease took six days on me, while it took much more on the other victims. The dojo leader in my martial art school also caught this disease. I heard from his girlfriend (who's my classmate) that it took him two and a half weeks to recover.

Yep. I was hit by a car at the age of 14 3 years ago. Resulted in amnesia and my brain swelling. Thus meaning a section of skull was removed. And being sedated in a coma for 9 days straight whilst my muscles deteriated. Leaving me unable to sit up or walk as I lost all my strength. Had a 27% survival rate. Then I had a titanium plate put in my head and all is good now thank god for the NHS

I got stabbed in a mugging once, so I had to go to hospital for that...it sucked.

Espeiclaly cos it happened when I was visiting friends in a different city, and I had to go straight there, so I had like NO stuff at all

I had mono when I was in kindergarten, and it kept me in the hospital for about a week or so.  It started out when I was playing with my friends all the way back in kindergarten, like I said before :3, and I puked all over the place.  I felt extremely weak after puking all over the carpet, I was running a fever, and my mom took me home.  A day or so past, and my parents took me to the hospital.  I was hooked me up to an IV tube and I just laid in the bed watching TV and eating.  The thing that really made it suck was that I was there during my 6th birthday, but my grandparents did come down to visit on my birthday.  Then I went home.

My brother fell against a brick wall and had his head split open and he needed to got to get staples in it.

 

And I visited my grandmother there two or three times after she was hospitalized for heart complications.

 

But, hospitals creep me out so even at the risk of dying I will never allow myself to be admitted to one personally.

Other than that, the doctors thought I had brain cancer. I passed MRI and luckily they found nothing. Still haven't broke any bones, but I went close to death and passed out a great amount of times

The worst thing I've ever had was hemorrhagic fever. Not a very fun thing to have, I had to sleep on the cranky hospital bed for a week. At least I got to drink a lot of milk because for some reason my mother thought it would make things better

Does going blind count? If so I was in a hospital for just over 24 hours to try and fix a retinal detachment which was never fixed properly and I am not completely blind in my right eye.

Bluh. Stomach pain for four days which I ignored until I could no longer stand the pain. 2 units of blood and an exploratory laperotomy later, I woke up with a gaping scar in my abdomen. Rupture cyst.

 

Two months later, complications from previous surgery, 4 units of blood later, sent home with stern warnings to come in sooner if I feel that bad. Red blood count was 5.5, should have been at least 10. Yay internal bleeding!

 

6 months later, still in pain. 2 fibroids removed, one rock melon sized, the other baseball sized. 3 more units of blood.

 

If that wasn't bad enough, the day after the third stay, where they had opened my abdomen again, I started feeling pukey. I vomited , and it was the most painful thing I've ever been through

Last time I was treated at the hospital was way back in May 2009. I wasn't feeling very good, I was coughing and throwing up. Went to a doctor got sent home after being diagnosed with something. Later on that night I was going down the stairs and fell. My dad called 911 when I was unresponsive. After the ambulance came and answered all the questions they had , they made me go to the hospital just to check. Long story short, I was in the hospital for 3 weeks with the Swine Flu and a mixture of other shit. The doctors and my parents didn't think I would live, and I could have been put on life support. I wasn't in any real pain, but believe me swine flu is a bitch.

I've been to the hospital quite often, I shall only mention one.

 

I woke up, suddenly I could not move my leg. I was just paralyzed, could not move it. So I ended up in a hospital for a rather long time, I was young so I don't remember it clearly. There were lots of testing, felt like a lab rat, constant observation. I never really knew what was going on, I think it was some type of severe ear infection or something. I have no idea why I couldn't use my leg, but because of that experience I became scared of hospitals. I was in a wheelchair at that hospital as well, I really didn't like it. I was scared and angry at the same time. It was just too long, I hated it. It's so weird being forced to lay in bed all day, forced experiments on you.. Discusting ones, all I remember is how much I hated it.

 

When I came back, people at school had made some preparations for my return, I also got a Nintendo 64 at the hospital from my grandpa, my first console.

well lets just start of this tale by saying, I was a greedy kid and one day i was hungry so i snuck into the kitchen to steal some cookies but the were in the top cupboard so i climbed onto the table and then fell and broke my arm in two places oh the joys of being greedy

March 31, 2003. When I was 11, I was walking to school. It was a new school for me. It was my third day there. Well there was this highway I had to cross, and I didn't see this lady in her van. Well next thing I knew, I heard the scream of tires and I was sent spinning through the air. I didn't know what happened or just how hurt I was. I tried to get up and just keep walking. Wasn't happening. 

 

Fortunately, something happened that I leaned a certain way when the van hit me that it only hit my shoulder. Other than my destroyed shoulder, I was fine. None of my vital organs were hurt. But I was in the hospital for three days. I had to go into surgery and I was out of school for about four or five weeks. 

 

The amazing part was that I had only been going to school there for about three days. I didn't really have any friends or anything. But while I was in the hospital, all of the other kids made a banner for me and signed it. It was huge. After that, I kept it in my bedroom for about the next seven months or so.

When I was a little kid I slipped and fell in the bathtub and cut open one of my eyes. Oddly enough no hospital would take me in so my parents drove me to every hospital in the city trying to find one that would help us while I held a bloodsoaked rag to me eye. Thankfully I can see fine out of both of my eyes....I don't even know which one it was.

Most people I know break their bones pretty often, so I feel kinda awkward... I hope I don't break any though.

I've been for a reason I thought was severe, but turned out to be nothing life threatening. I'd rather not talk about how it happened, but I ended up blacking out, hitting my head off a steel door and laid on the floor having a seizure for a couple seconds. I ended up with a concussion in the back of my head. But they told me I'm fine other than that.

The closet thing I've ever had to injuries was when I decided to take a 30 minute jog....in 90 degree weather, and got dehydrated. T_T I know, not a smart choice, but that's not the point. It was for a mountain climb I was getting ready for. Anyways, I walked inside, headed towards the bathroom, next thing you know, I wake up halfway in the bathtub with a throbbing/bleeding forehead. Apparently I blacked out and hit my head against the side of the tub. After a long warm bath, I agreed to never do anything like that EVER.

On October 3rd, 2004, I was swinging on the monkey bars, and I tried to reach the monkey bar by jumping, but someone pushed me, and I hit my head on the steel monkey bars, and I broke my arm by landing on it funny. I did not end up with a concussion, but I had a very bad bruise on my head. I had to spend the next 4 months in an arm cast. And the most forever alone part? No one even signed my cast.

 

I found out the person who did it though, and he didn't feel sorry at all. He was my bully in my 8th grade year.

 

Yay, thanks to my ADD and socially awkwardness for causing him to bully me! ....not.

I know all about that. I got shoved when I was in Gr. 5. This kid walked up to me and told me I had 5 seconds to run, which was really out of the blue. So I ignored him, and casually walked away. Then I turned to see where he was, which ended up being directly in my face. He pushed me right off my feet, and I cracked my head off the pavement.

I had some organ damage from the time I tried to overdose. They really didn't have to do much, but they did pump my stomach and whatnot.

 

Oh, and when I got hit in the face with a gold club and passed out when I was six. Lost my front right tooth so I have a fake one now. c:

 

 

EDIT: The only two other times I attempted suicide was cutting (didn't lose enough blood to condone heading to the hospital) and drowning. I am over it now, though.
