How would you react to the canon death of a character?

Well it'll never really happen because of the general dark theme of death not mixing with a kids show rating.

 

If one did died id be pretty sad, Atleast for the main characters, plus there'd be outrage, and the fact I've become attached to the characters makes them dieing a sad thought.

Obviously, I wouldn't want any of the ponies in the show to die, but if it was done well, I would probably cry and move on to the next episode. I'd be pissed, you just don't develop a character for months just to kill them off later, that's just lazy story telling.

But that's all that Homestuck is... Well, most of it at least. 

 

But to the topic, if the show just decided to do that, I'd be so sad, you don't even know. It's just not cool to let people grow on the the characters, especially since younger people watch it, to just let the characters build up to fall down soon after isn't cool.

 

But that's what doesn't make sense, it's just like a nice ol' game of Jenga. You build it up, knowing that it's going to fall down again. But a cartoon is different. You spend time making the character who they were, letting people live up to love that person, to cut the wire for whatever reason. I remember some old cartoons that did that, I forget the names, but I remember that one stuck with me for awhile.

Depends on how it's done. If it's done for the sake of being done, I'd prolly ragequit the show because that's absolutely not what it needs. I'd be more comfortable with a secondary character related to one of the main ones dying if the purpose of the episode is to show how death is dealt with, but even that's unnecessary.
