10 Questions for Members who are 20 and under(or older)
Firelord Derpy replied to Wingnut's topic in General Discussion
Well I'm 19 so that's under 20 so here we go. 1. Do you know how to use a rotary phone and have you ever dialed one? If so, how long ago? I know how to use one. I think my Grandmother had one at one point. 2. Did you have an early part in your life without Internet access? Parents disallowing it because you were too young doesn't count. Eh, they monitored where I and how much time a day i was allowed on the computer. 3. What is the earliest national or world crisis you have a first hand memory of? Most of you will probably say September 11. Obama's election. (Sorry If that offends. ) 4. Can you recall if your family had an old-fashioned TV with dials on it? Nope 5. Can you tell me what it's like to read about Saddam Hussein, Bill Clinton, the reunification of Germany, 9/11, and Hurricane Katrina in history textbooks? I'm home schooled so I got my lessons from the internet and my parents. 6. Do you or does anybody in your family refuse to carry a cell phone? Again, parents disallowing it because you were too young doesn't count. Not really. My brother and sister don't need/have interest in them but they're not against them. 7. Do you remember old school 5 1/4 inch floppy disks for computers? Maybe you're so young you don't even remember the 3.5 inch disks that were discontinued just a few years ago? Dad did programs on them when I was really young. 8. When was the last time you used the Yellow Pages to look up a phone number? I think I was looking for the Vet's office. 9. What was the first cartoon you fell in love with? Don't say MLP:FiM. You're all supposed to be at least 13 so I know you have a well-liked cartoon from before that. Spongbob Squarepants 10. Do cartoons from the 1980s look and sound as dated to you as cartoons from the '60s appear to me? I don't remember really. -
I imagine Equestria has a military, probably a small one that is unneeded but is still kept just in case of emergency. I would guess would probably have magic powered guns and tanks. Of course given the peaceful nature of Equestria it would be used mainly in disaster relief and probably has not seen combat or war in a couple hundred years. I would also imagine that the reason the royal Canterlot guards use spears is because they are for ceremony and police action. Same with the Wonderbolts.

There is a difference between education and intelligence. AppleJack probably had some basic schooling, learned the basics. But other then that she probably learned everything else on the job and from parents/grandparents. Things which she didn't need like advanced math and chemistry or anything like that she probably disregarded or wasn't taught. After all when would she need to know Pi to twenty digits or the Theorem of Magical prowess. If she finds a hole in her knowledge that she needs to fill she probably learns it as she goes. The ability to learn quickly and adapt is a very powerful skill. As for speaking in Fancy. Well that could just be confusion and a tired mind after being woken in the middle of the night. Maybe there are several languages that are similar and used by the "Fancy ponies." and since AJ can't tell them apart she just calls it fancy. Another thought is that she may have gotten minor amounts of business tutoring from other notable Ponyville figures. Filthy Rich has ties to the Apple Family even if his daughter is a jerk to them. Since a large part of his business deals with the Apple Family farm he might have helped instruct a Young AppleJack and could possibly run some accounting for them. Just a thought.

Kane Chronicles by Rick Rearden. I've got it on my computer and I am reading it on an E reader. I don't know whether I like reading it this way more then I like reading it in book format yet.

St. Plesakburg. A play on St. Petersburg in Russia and the Russian name for Trotter breed of horse. "Pleask" ""Рысак" Gryphus A Griffin city. I thought of this one a while back and Don't remember what the inspiration was for it.

Princess Celestia. Not only is she the most powerful being in the universe and possibly the only pony powerful enough to transform me into a pony, she is a very nice and wonderful ruler. An all around great pony who would make a wonderful partner. That and also she's the most powerful pony in Equestria, meaning I get practically unlimited resources and influence that I can use to better Equestria!

BE VERY CAREFUL! I am not advising you to cave to their will nor am I advising you to stand against them. What I do advise is to be intelligent. Try telling them all the good things Bronies do like the creativity it has inspired. Tell them about the charity work that has been done by Bronies or tell them how the show has made you a better person and less racist or more tolerant of Gays and other people. Try spending some time with your parents where you don't talk about MLP at all, that will help show that your not obsessed or overdoing it. The biggest thing is that you do not make your parents defensive or think you're trying to circumvent their authority because if it turns into a nasty argument you will suffer. I don't know you or your parents and I can't say whether they are good parents or not, but they probably think your weird and that is understandable. Maybe acknowledged that it's weird that you like the show but point out that for a long time Nerds were looked down upon. So just remember to be diplomatic about it and remember that your parents are not enemies and should be not be treated like enemies. May I advise you read the book "How to win friends and influence people?"

ATLA/MLP Crossover. Toph Vs The Boulder!
Firelord Derpy replied to Firelord Derpy's topic in Visual Fan Art
I drew him from scratch but I used the original image as a base to get the proportions correct. That's a good point but it's too much trouble to change it. Since the resolution is so big on the picture I have to shut down every program but my art program and do several other things so that the computer has enough power to save it. And I have an almost new computer! -

I present my latest work of art! A crossover including one of my favorite characters in Avatar the Last Airbender, Toph! This took way to long to draw but I'm pretty happy with it! http://gennadykalugina.deviantart.com/art/Toph-vs-the-Boulder-345437064

Have I missed the golden days of the fandom?
Firelord Derpy replied to Concord's topic in Sugarcube Corner
Yes. Sucks to be you. JK JK JK Honestly though I never really got into the fandom much. I watch the show, draw art and mess around on the Forums but I don't really do any big live streams or things like that. I think though people are taking things too seriously and over doing things. While some people are expected to leave the fandom if someone leaves and is like "This fandom has lost it's true meaning according to how i think it should be!" Then it will leave a bigger imprint. Anyways so maybe some bronies are annoying and some are leaving but who cares? This is supposed to be fun and joyful not a cult that you can't leave. -
Even if they did have some fan service. WHY COMPLAIN? Isn't it a good thing that they listen the fan base? Sure it was originally for little girls but if they want to throw in Brony references why is everyone mad about it? It's a good thing! If the go overboard with it it could be bad but they haven't gone overboard so why aren't we cheering instead of complaining?

Theory About Derpy's Current Situation
Firelord Derpy replied to Tyoeman's topic in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
Simple. Season three's episodes were written and created while season two was airing. After the Derpy incident, to be safe Derpy was removed from season three's episodes since they were in production. Since the situation has calmed down and the MLP team says they like Derpy they will probably start adding her back again in new episodes. But you must remember all of season 3's episodes are complete at this point. They have already been animated, voiced acted, and produced. Right now they are working on season four. Hopefully Derpy will show up there. -

How do you avoid Boredom? (Opinion/Discussion thread)
Firelord Derpy replied to Fallen Angel's topic in General Discussion
Drawing ponies. Writing Fan-fic. Computer games. More computer games. Reading. Thinking about what computer games I should play. (Wow, I really need to get a life.) And ranting politics. -
Maybe the reunion in Ponyville in the first episode was a smaller thing for more local families. While ever 100 moons they have a big one that everyone comes to. Example: Every year my family goes to celebrate the Fourth of July with family. Not everyone comes but usually the more local families are there. Every now and again they have a huge reunion where everyone comes.
